I really enjoyed this book. It takes place between The Last Jedi & The Rise of Skywalker & chronicles how the Resistance reformed itself after the battle on Crate. There were some very entertaining moments and a few older characters reappearing that was great ❤

I really did enjoy this book a LOT, but the corona virus lockdown has been a killer for my reading life. I read the first half in paper copy, then listened to the last half - I got too stressed to turn the page!!! If you loved Claudia Gray‘s Bloodline, definitely read this - I loved how they tied the storylines together.

This really didn't prepare me for what happens in Rise of Skywalker, but it was a good examination of the desperation of the Resistance after the Battle of Crait. The books have done such a great service to the character of Leia!
Saw the movie last night, and it was excellent!

Loved this! A great lead-in to Star Wars: Episode IX. Rebecca Roanhorse does a great job capturing all the character voices, especially General Leia.

This was more than my $1 dollar bookmarks in my previous posts...but was also #retailtherapy. 🙈

Also - it bridges the gap between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker so I definitely wanted to read it before the movie comes out next week. 🙃

Full of some wonderful Poe & Finn adventure, as well as some Leia (who I will sorely miss as I watch the last film, but it was great seeing that character alive & fighting in the novels yet) in the mix with popular book characters that we haven‘t seen since their individual books. Such a great book for fans of the movies and books... pulling together a bunch of the novel characters into the larger story about rebuilding the resistance.

This book is such a good fan book as surviving resistance members fan out to enlist and track down old allies. It‘s absolutely great to hear about and from characters we haven‘t heard from since their storylines in other books in the series. But when Snap (Aftermath) has to break the news to Wedge Antilles about all his former friends from his rebel days that were lost in The Last Jedi, and especially his good friend Luke, I seriously welled up!

This is sooooo good!

I adored this! Roanhorse does a fantastic job of pulling in storylines from the movies, cartoons, comics, and other books without making it feel like you had to have consumed everything first. I think this would be a good place to start with Star Wars books. It feels like the perfect bridge between Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker. The Star Wars humor is captured perfectly, and I cried multiple times. I highly recommend this!
