You know the clique- don‘t judge a book by the cover? Well clique be damned bc that is exactly what I grabbed this book at the library. It‘s an easy read of a mommy group gone so so wrong. Very enjoyable weekend read

This was fairly good, kind of a weird plot. Some relatable tid-bits from being a new mother that were somewhat insightful. Picture with my two boys who are now 8 and 10 years old in a blink.
I‘m calling this one a pick, too, #LMPBC Group E!
I went in knowing nothing about this story, so I was continually surprised by the directions it took. Not exactly believable, but dramatic and funny.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
My post office is closed today, so this will be on the way to you on Tuesday, Jackie!
Lunch break on my work-from-home days is far superior to lunch break in the office.
One more book to finish for #LMPBC this month. 🙌🏼
4/5 ⭐️ This was wild! The characters weren't exactly likeable, but it sure was entertaining reading the drama! #LMPBC Group E
I've been working on crocheting a cat bed and it's definitely been a learning experience 😅 #LitsyCrafters
Well this was definitely an interesting book 😂 It is like the trash TV of books (which I don't necessarily mean negatively) ! Can't wait to see what you all think of this one! #LMPBC

This was an enjoyable read, and should not have taken me this long to finish! Read for #PopSugarReadingChallenge2021 4/5
This book was fantastic! Hilarious for any mom who either loves to hate or hates to love wellness trends, social media influencers, and tiny toddler tyrants. A complete, unexpected delight. 👶 🍼 💊
Don‘t wait forever to get your shit together, all right? Life only gives you so many chances 💊👶🎶
I thoroughly enjoyed this book depicting motherhood and friendships within a playgroup in Manhattan, and with the younger woman they hired to play music for their babies. I was not expecting some of the twists and turns, which I really liked.
This book was a wild ride. It‘s about a group of moms who become friends by forming a playgroup for their babies and a young woman who begins to do music time for their kids. This book shows the insecurities and pressure of being a mom and the things the women keep to themselves for fear of being deemed bad mothers. So many twists in this one and a great story. I loved it!
So an unexpected power outage the second I logged on to work left me with some free time to finish this one. (And the power came back on just as I finished! How perfect is that?)
This was a pick from the list @hermyknee curated for #newyearwhodis and I loved it! A young woman gets a job as a playgroup musician for some wealthy NYC women. Secrets come out and drama ensues. It was engaging and the characters were great!
@monalyisha
My #NewYearWhoDis list came from @hermyknee and I‘m looking forward to Happy & You Know It as well as The Sun Down Motel.
Really though the whole list is up my alley. Sorry for the delay in posting this - been a busy week! But this is gonna be so fun! 😀
@monalyisha
Surprisingly good! I love a good rich-people-problems, especially if it‘s set in New York. But I also liked having a laugh/commiseration with some of the trials of new motherhood. And it was light, which we all need right now.
You know a book has sucked you in when you find yourself saying “Oh f*$&!” out loud. 🤣🤣
I‘ve been waiting to read this and it didn‘t disappoint. The richmommy vibe is big since reality TV and social media. Is this going to be another book about overzealous moms, or will it say anything new? The good news is it‘s the latter. One refreshing aspect of this bored housewives play group is its humanization of these women. Not all of them play prime roles, but somehow that makes sense. It throws a few twists in to keep the readers guessing.
Onto yet another book I‘ve been dying to read!
We just got our first BOTM box! Can't you tell we look happy? I am so excited to read this book. 😎🐕📖 #BOTM #dogsoflitsy #awellreadboriqua
There‘s no tired like teacher tired on the first week of school...in the midst of a pandemic, who is teaching both in person AND virtually simultaneously!!! My reading has felt the effect too. 😒

📖 168 Hours - a book about time management... 😂
It started off promising...but then it took a weird turn...kind of cheesy to be honest.
I unexpectedly enjoyed this one! Normally not one that‘s be on my radar, but a friend loaned it to me with rave reviews. A fun drama about New York socialite new moms and the musician they hire for their playgroup. Some surprising twists along with solid feminist messages. A juicy tale that is easy to devour.
This was fun! I think I would have gotten through it quicker if it hadn‘t been a really stressful time for me. This felt a bit like a Liane Moriarty book to me, in a good way.
Loving the surprising feminist themes in this book! #girlpower 💁🏼♀️ 📖
This was a fun read, with a good twist I wasn‘t expecting. It‘s a group of wealthy NYC moms, who have a playgroup with a singer they‘ve hired. It‘s all the insecurities of new motherhood, plus a fun “wellness” twist. I enjoyed the reality tv-over the top feel to it.
I‘m a bit more than halfway through this light read one of my sisters recommended and had a really relatable memory when one of the new moms is shamed in an upscale coffee shop when her baby wails. Mine was years ago, on a plane with my baby (now 24) and the judgmental side eye and looks of disgust (diaper blowout) and the utter kindness of a stranger who didn‘t act like it was my faulty parenting.
4/5. Overall a really fun read! I live for reality tv and drama in that regard and this book was right in that vein so I enjoyed it! The characters were fun and interesting as well.
We rented a house boat for two days to celebrate our one year anniversary! 💝 haven‘t felt this relaxed since January 😂
Perhaps this is a case of the right book for the right reader...? I definitely don't think this would appeal to everyone, but I loved it. Light, over-the-top at times, but still touched on feminist topics in the middle of the drama. The stress of motherhood (for the upper class) is captured perfectly. Momstagram, play group, rich New York "trophy wife" types turn out to be much more than meet the eye! ?? ? ???? ??
Yummy lunch with my current read. Korean-inspired dish from a neighbor 😋
Both are great---book and food!
Happy 4th!! 🇺🇸 💥
Spending the day with the family at my in-laws in the pool and eating. Hope you all are having a good time today!
t‘s an alright book. I would really give it in between pick and so-so if I could. It started off slow and then steady till about the last 1/3rd where it really took off.
All the right elements were there but you just failed to care about any of them and that‘s the problem.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 this was surprisingly twisty and super fun. Highly recommend this BOTM pick!
Look at all of these gorgeous new books at the library!! 😍😍😍
I walk by these beauties multiple times a day and must force myself not to touch them/accidentally throw them in my bag. I have big enough stacks as it is!
This was quick, fun, and entertaining. I really didn‘t know what to expect with this one, but I found myself unable to put it down.
Perhaps because I love reminiscing about this time in my life, there‘s just something about high-drama mom‘s-day-out type books that I find highly entertaining. The Liane Moriarty vibes that others have noted, really are strong here.
As cliched as reviews that proclaim a book "perfect for fans of INSERT AUTHOR HERE" can be - this actually is pretty perfect for Liane Moriarty fans ? The mommy drama is next level crazy, but I was highly entertained.
(In an attempt to help fill the Central Park sized void in my life, I walked over to Prospect Park for some outdoor reading today. The weather is perfect! ?)
The twist at the end, while welcomed, doesn't redeem the book.
I liked this book so much better than I thought I would. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Claire was kicked out of a band right before their big break. She is in dire need of a job. Well lucky for her a group of rich, privileged mommies need a musician for their baby group. Claire has to take what she can get. There is more to this group of wealthy women than Claire originally thought.
Secrets, drama, social media stardom, vitamin supplements and of course, being the best mom you can be make this book what it is.
I really had a hard time picking between a pick and so-so with this book. It had a very slow build, it took me days just to get through the first 130 pages because I didn't want to pick it up. Then the other half of the book I read in a couple hours. It's not the normal book I read, I did enjoy the little secrets and housewives feel to it. But it's just not all what its hyped up to be. Still a light fun read.
