Ah ha! You've heard of 'resting on your laurels'? Well, I am resting my eyeballs, in recognition of being 100 books away from my 2022 goal of reading 500 books this year. Those whose eyeballs are currently bugging out in astonishment or scepticism should remember that a sizeable portion of this pie includes picture books, comics, graphic novels and novellas. I endorse the short read! 😁📚
Just as with the first one, I cannot believe how much was crammed into this second book.👌🏻Adore the writing, the world building is exquisite - in the places visited, beings encountered, rules/truths about books and stories framing the narrative. MASTERFUL at ratcheting up the tension: Interpersonal conflict, trying to fix things without communication, questions of identity & purpose. The romance? Didn't see it coming, ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT.
90% at the mercy of "inscrutable women", 10% "blind terror".
Glorious!

"Paradise, it seemed, was distinctly rural."
Oh, I do hope so.
All our favorite places! ❤️📚❤️
1. Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. Look it up! So gorgeous!
2. Tagged! My most recent read.
3. Cheating a little, staying in the same series, but I would visit the Library of the Unwritten from the first book by Hackwith.
#SundayFunday Have a great day and remember to tag me!
What are stories actually made of? A librarian, an archivist, a character separated from his book, & a fallen angel have to figure that out when a strange puddle of ink appears in the Arcane wing of the Library.
No 2nd book slump here! This one is darker in tone, everyone is seriously traumatized from the last book & they have a lot to work through. The description of the Archive brought me to tears & I have so many new questions! 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
As a reader, you know the pull a good book can have on you. If the story is truly enchanting it sticks with you and loves as you do from then on. It should then be no surprise that every book is a soul; it lives, it breathes, telling its story and relishing in the reading. The library is in danger now…what wouldn‘t an afterlife realm do to acquire the power held in the stacks of the library?
Books, gateways to somewhere else, somewhere unknown, an escape. But what really is a book? Is it a collection of words strategically scrawled across medium? Is it a all ink and parchment, thread and leather? Or is it the whole of its intent, the story it conveys? Does the medium hold the story or does the story hold itself? The power of a story is immeasurable. A good one will grab hold of you and who knows when it will release!
How can the sequel be even better than the first book? I don‘t know, but the entire mythology of this story is becoming increasingly enthralling, a captivating journey I wished it never ended. Furthermore, all four main characters are compelling in their own way and I, for one, love a particular side-story. 😉There‘s just so much love for books, story-telling and writing within this book, I‘d read a dozen more sequels. 📚Can‘t wait for book three!
I enjoyed book one and this follow up did not disappoint! I liked how the story alternated viewpoints between Claire, Brevity, Rami, and Hero. Creative and imaginative, I enjoyed each page of this one. Hell‘s Library is an interesting library for sure.
Initially I didn't like how one of the MCs was portrayed, but at the same time it kept me reading and I enjoyed. The story is told from 4 different POVs; Claire, Brevity, Hero and Rami.
A fun return to the Unwritten Wing and definitely a pick.

1. I was not creative and used my email. S (first initial), Cochrane (middle name), 26 (birthday).
2. Anytime, on my couch
3. Tagged. I‘ve read some great books this month, but Archive has been the most fun.
4. Just me & my cat 🐈

The first book in this series took me awhile to read, but I finished this one in 2 days. Like a lot of sequels, this doesn‘t have to build the world or introduce you to many new characters. Claire is back with her found family, & they‘re all adjusting to new roles in Hell‘s Library when a dangerous ink appears. Love the characters, the love of books,& the stories in this series. Can‘t wait for the third one.
“There is no library of secrets. Secrets cannot be kept or curated. Secrets have no need for a library, but each library needs secrets. Books are a secret hidden in plain sight. Read me, they say. Look at me. Turn my pages. Touch my spine. Read my words, and content yourself.
Every book is a secret that only readers know.”

Who hasn‘t played? Consider yourself tagged!
This series has solidified its place as one of my absolute favorites. The entanglement of different motives and characters is brilliant, and no thread of plot goes unappreciated by the conclusion. This book left me wishing I had waited for the next book to come out before reading it, the wait will be excruciating. Highly recommended.
“Letting books take you where they might – that was one part of the Library magic.” #archive #QuotsyMar21
Book 1 was one of my favorite books last year. Tied for no. 1 with TJ Klune‘s House in the Cerulean Sea. And book 2 didn‘t disappoint.
“I read and I read all the stories until I found myself again . . . It took a while, but I found myself in stories.”
Although I did like Lisa Flanagan‘s narration of book 1 more than Bahni Turpin. Turpin wasn‘t bad, she just wasn‘t as good as Flanagan.
I can‘t wait until November when book 3 is published.
Hero and Remi are just so cute.
It was fun to be back in the library with Claire, romping through realms. This book seemed a bit darker than the first, and did get a little confusing. But I did like the ending - much more satisfying than the first book.
“I expect to be pleased to make your acquaintance.”
...OUCH

Hero is definitely my favorite character. Since this is the second book I‘m going to be vague. There was fights among friends, a mysterious ink, and a scandalous kiss! Remi and Hero are very humorous so you might find yourself laughing out loud. This also gave me my second bingo for February on #bookspinbingo

Completed: 3 books
I didn‘t meet my goal of 7 books but the ones I read were great! Kicked off 2021 with two 4⭐️ reads & one 5⭐️ read 🎉 The tagged book was my favourite. I hope there‘s a sequel coming!
“Hard claws tapped softly against metal as the #raven shuffled along her perch on the back of the opposite chair. She cocked her head sideways, then made a sound akin to a tuba mid-childbirth.” #QuotsyJan21
I‘ve been waiting to read the tagged book ever since I finished The Library of the Unwritten so it made my day when I got the notification that my hold was ready! 😁
Welcome back to the library and the world where the written page comes alive...literally. Nice to see you Hero.
11-11-20: My 93rd finished book of 2020! Hell has a library and in the Unwritten Wing, where a muse is librarian, the ink has started to act up. It will take the muse, a human, a fallen angel and a hero to uncover what has gone wrong and how to fix it before any more books are lost. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #thearchiveoftheforgotten #ajhackwith 👍🏼📖#️⃣9️⃣3️⃣
When the power is out at work (aka the library) so you get to go home (or course to no power). Guess I am reading by candle and/or booklight. ⛈⛈
Book 2
Several months after the Bible of Hell needed to be rescued from ending up in Heaven - or Hell, depending on which side you're on - a sinkhole appears in Hell's Library. A new quest arises, this time a cure for a curse (of sorts, I'm trying to avoid spoilers) has to be found.

From The Archive of the Forgotten by A J Hackwith. Second book in the Library of the Unwritten series. There are a hundred lines to love in this book.
A library in Helll - that was the concept that hooked me last year with Hackwith's The Library of the Unwritten. So to say I was eager to return to this world (eager to return to Hell?) is an understatement. A mysterious ink infects Claire & the Arcane Wing & there are disagreements on how to save everyone. Add in the disgraced angel Rami, the book villain Hero, & a whole new section of the library & this series just gets better and better.
A fantastic sequel to The Library of the Unwritten! This is such a fresh and original series about a library of unfinished books in hell and the no-nonsense librarian holding it all together while trying not to capture too much attention from demons. Check out the first book and preorder this one now (out next month!)
