(2020) More hockey, more baking, more relationship drama: Eric and Jack figure out how to support each other and represent their relationship to their teammates, families, and -- since Jack is now playing pro hockey -- the world. It's a satisfying continuation of v.1

The first volume has been banned in some libraries. I haven't seen reports that this one has been challenged, but rest assured it's everything the first was. Read #BannedBooks y'all

(Once again, this will just have to be close enough.) Agh, what perfect closure for Bitty. Full circle from his arrival at Samwell and his fear of checking, and the acceptance everyone deserves to have if/when they come out. I would read a million more installments, but what a way to go out!! #reread #yalit #graphicnovel

The perfect comfort read. A lovely finish to the duology. Yes, there is swearing and drinking (it's set at college) and instances of homophobia that are addressed, but it's still so FLUFFY! Heartwarming delivery of important messages, and so much camaraderie and love between found and biological family.
I love Bitty. And now I want to bake.

5/5 ⭐️ I loved the second book even more! Bitty and Jack are so cute! Loved the LGBTQ love story mixed with sports, which is not very common. Yes for inclusion! 😍
#bookspinbingo

GondorGirl I loved the fact that even though they're sporty college bros the guys are also really supportive. It's nice to see healthy masculinity in books. 3y

My need to finally read this is what inspired my first trip back to the library in over a year.I didn‘t see how it could top the first book but it did. Bitty is every bit as adorable but the highs and lows of his new relationship made this a much more emotional read.

Johanna414 I loved these books so much!! 3y
Jas16 @Johanna414 I just wish there more of them! 3y
GondorGirl There is, sort of, more to the story. Ngozi wrote a short (adult) comic story called 'Madison' as part of her final Kickstarter. I'm sure it'll eventually be for sale on the DFTBA website. She also compiled a book of all of Bitty's tweets called the 'Chirp Book'. You can buy that anywhere. 3y
Jas16 @GondorGirl Thank you so much for letting me know! 3y

This is the cutest graphic novel! I loved this story so much. The first volume was good, but this was even better. The characters are fun and Bitty is just a super sweet cinnamon roll character. I really didn't want this story to end, but it was done so well. I hope Ukazu comes out with more fun things soon! I need more of this kind of heartwarming fun!

Finished my reread! I loved the callback jokes in this - from multiple characters being like - how did Bitty do this baking thing so fast to fainting on the ice.... still no idea what half of the hockey lingo is about (it could be Canadian slang - idk) but that really didn‘t detract from my reading experience.

I loved this. I had the pleasure of meeting Ngozi Ukazu at Book Expo when the first book came out. I Steppend into her autograph line after seeing the cover. I loved the first book and I loved this one too. It took a little while for me to get into, but it was just as good and heartwarming as the first. #bookspinbingo #doublespin @TheAromaofBooks

This one took me a while to get into for some reason, the beginning was somewhat slow but it picked up towards the middle and made me cry at the end. Not as perfect as the first volume but definitely some touching moments! Featuring my boy Zeus who is always curious what I‘m reading #dogsoflitsy

For #thegreatchristmasgiveaway, I nominate @Eyelit , who has introduced me to--and often lent me--some of my favorite books and series. She is always on top of book sales and takes the time to share them with her friends, a group I'm lucky to belong to. I've tagged Check, Please! because it's possibly my favorite of the many things she's introduced me to. 🥧

Y'all... I'm awful! I've been reading this book since late July and it is now SEPTEMBER! I hadn't meant to completely abandon it or forget about it, but other things caught my eye and attention and this poor guy suffered the consequences.

I am rectifying this TODAY and finishing this sequel to "Check, Please! Book 1: # Hockey". I am saddened that this will be the last ? Some great #graphicnovel illustrations and storyline from the author.

I really liked Book 1, but I absolutely loved Book 2. I cried so many times from the very real queer experiences contained in this book, which gets a bit darker and deeper than Book 1 did, especially around Bitty's struggles with communicating with and being accepted by his family. I found myself so proud of Bitty as he comes into his own and navigates becoming a (queer) leader on and off the ice. Plus, Jack and Bitty are the cutest, y'all. 🏒🥧

"This is the second and final Check, Please book and I'm excited to share the end of this series. I will miss Samwell dearly. Just as Bitty discovered who he was in the Haus and in Faber and as a member of the Samwell men's ice hockey team, I learned so much about myself in the pages of this comic. I hope you discover a bit of yourself as well."
Yes, I've discovered that when exhausted, a simple foreword can make me weep. ???

I laughed, I cried, and experienced every other emotion in between. This story means so much to me. It was amazing to read it in print and I may have hugged the book more than once while reading. Ngozi‘s storytelling is one of the best I‘ve ever encountered and she told this beautiful story so well. I don‘t have enough words to say how much I love this comic and these dumb boys.🏒❤️🥧

Preordered this (out April 7th) because I need some cute hockey player baking graphic novel goodness in my life and noticed Amazon's delay shipping promo is up to $3 per purchase (from $1 - towards digital purchases). 😱 So yeah, just saving up for some ebooks...
