A story about how anxiety feels and one woman‘s experience with it.
I read this one pretty quickly, but I‘m still not sure how I feel about it. I liked parts of it, but found other parts a bit tedious and frustrating.

Look what just arrived! 🤩 Thank you so much for sending this to me @Kalalalatja And for the fab stickers! I can‘t wait to read it! 😀 👍 #travellingbook
The upcoming days I will be posting 1 of my 10 favorite books of the year so far - with a few thoughts on them.
Caitlin is afraid of dying. She tries to avoid this by being careful, always careful. This book captures the experience of severe anxiety with so much skill and empathy I felt like Cathy myself.
@squirrelbrain thank you for sending me the travelling books, those fancy Litsy stickers, and that very sweet card! 💕 hope you didn‘t feel too bad after your vaccine 🤞

Loved this! It‘s the tale of Caitlin who has a debilitating fear of dying and it‘s one of those books that you just can‘t put down, as you really *need* to know that she‘s going to be OK. Loved Tom and in fact all of her supporting cast of friends.
Katja- the #travellingbook is already on its way to you - just been to the PO. Thanks to Barbara for sending it to me!
Oh and #covercrush but did anyone else get their fingers tangled in the holes?!
#bookmail
Look what‘s arrived @BarbaraBB - the famous #litsytravellingbook! At least *something* gets to travel around the world at the moment! I love the cover - so pretty!
And thank you also for the cute little book on Reading - it looks fascinating!
I have The Morbids on my #bookspin list for April so hopefully it will be on its way to you in a few weeks @Kalalalatja
This book… 💔
I am fortunate to have never known such anxiety as described here. Caitlin is afraid of dying. She is sure she will, anytime now, because she made this one mistake: being careless. She now tries to cope by being careful, always careful.
The Morbids captures the experience of severe anxiety with nuance and skill and much empathy. There is friendship, love and fun too in the book. I cried and I smiled and I highly recommend it.
Finished this on a wet 1st day of Autumn. I‘m probably a Morbid.😏. I did like this book but thought it a little drawn out. Could relate to the main character and her journey. I would have loved a Tom in my life. 😊.

@MrsMalaprop
A very affecting and effective portrait of depression and anxiety wrapped in a very readable story of friendship and romance. I enjoyed it a lot, although I found myself frustrated by yet another young character who is refuses to talk to anyone about how she feels. I enjoyed the Sydney setting too.

Opened the front door and look what was waiting for me. Thank you so much, Jenny. I‘m so looking forward to this. 😘
Fabulous book - read it in a day! (Which I‘ve never done before) a beautiful tale of a mental health journey that could be any one of us. I laughed, I sobbed, I cheered Caitlin on. There but for the grace of God go I ❤️❤️
I loved this book. I think perhaps it resonated so much as someone very close to me has this type of anxiety, I didn‘t know it had a name. This was a very genuine portrayal and I was not surprised to read the author has it too.
Jenny - thank you so much, you have no idea how this book has touched me ♥️.
#litsymail always the best!!!
Thank you lovely Jenny 😁😁 what a gorgeous surprise. Can‘t wait to read these.
Was lovely to open at the end of another long, hard day, hope all is well with you. Much appreciated ❤️❤️ ❤️
Arrived yesterday but couldn‘t tag anyone last night!
Although this is not my usual genre I enjoyed it. Romance isn‘t my jam, but there was a bit more to it than that. Well developed characters and a fairly realistic portrayal of anxiety kept me engaged. A good debut novel for Ewa Ramsey. #ozfiction
How I plan to start my morning. Thanks #aussiesecretsanta #ozfiction #currentlyreading
#Aussiesecretsanta I am so grateful 🙏. The giver has not clearly identified themself, but I think I know who it is. There aren‘t too many Aussies on Litsy & even less in this swap, but I don‘t think you & I have had much interaction 🤔. Anyway, I love the gifts & hope to start the tagged book very soon. I‘ve been dying to read it. So much so that I bought it to give at my BookClub Christmas ‘do‘ tomorrow! 👏
🙏 @thegirlwiththelibrarybag
Absolutely loved this. I haven‘t felt as invested in a character for a long while and it had me very much in my feels. It‘s a story about trauma, mental illness, and friendship, with a dash of romance and humour. I hope you care for Caitlin like I did. #OzFiction
This was purely picked for the cover, I admit it. For some reason I thought this would be a bit mediocre but I loved it! Caitlin was an wonderfully constructed and entirely relatable character who I felt such an affinity with. Best friend, Lina, and love interest, Tom, were full of warmth and kindness. This was a book I tore through because I was so concerned for Caitlin‘s welfare, I had to know she would be alright.
The Morbids is a strange, sparkly novel (literally, the cover is pink glitter!). Even though it‘s heavy on trigger-warning-worthy content (depression, self-destructive behaviour, death), it‘s also a romantic comedy, with a charming leading man and an evil ex to boot.
