Entertaining read 🙃 Thank you @AmyG for my escape from reality.
I grabbed this book on a whim at the grocery store for something to read on the beach and it was such a good read.
You are so wrapped up in the characters that you don't realize how well the author has layered in dynamics of systems in this country and how society views who is and isn't deserving of compassion, dignity & chances. The characters are so unlikable, but incredibly fascinating with a surprise ending you never saw coming. Read it!
The beginning wasn‘t very climactic, unless you count the homeless woman secretly living in a closet then crawl space and who used to be a therapist but went to prison for crossing too many lines with her patients and who was now stalking the random family whose house she was squatting in.Several storylines going on at once and all were jacked up. An ok read, but the author was sometimes crass and it didn‘t flow or add anything to it. Book #17in2024
The story felt slow, pointless, and meandering with Tarantino style massacre and open ending...
I'm not usually a thriller reader. I couldn't put it down as it did keep me guessing. Was a little lengthy and I skipped about the last 30 pages.
Maybe if I found a faster paced author in the same genre, I'd like this one better 🤷♀️
I‘m a fan of Fisher‘s creepy, intense style that has me gasping often. This one involves a homeless woman who seeks secret shelter in a troubled home where the husband and wife both have secrets that of course are revealed with shocking consequences for all!
Tarryn is most definitely my favorite author.... Ever. So I pushed through this book. It took me well over a year to finish. The book itself was not awful, but there was nothing that grabbed me and made me want more..... Until the end. The last 2-3 chapters were wonderful. It definitely puts you on edge at points, but I probably wouldn't read it again.

@Andrew65
I am really hoping to finish at least 1 (if not more) of these this weekend.
Did I need anymore books to read...no! Did that stop me from checking out 2 out of 3 of my library book club picks...nope!!
A wild ride! I really liked that one of the characters had my name ~ Jocelyn.
Book 75🎧
This book was a strange ride! Murder, kidnapping, lies…
I have heard that this one isn‘t quite as good as “The Wives” so I am very excited to listen to it next!
Overall it was a really good thriller but I found the ending lacked a bit?🤷🏼♀️
Except for the couple at the end, that man‘s a hoot😂🦝
Ok this twist was awesome and unexpected. I enjoyed this one a lot.
77 of 2021. Day 7 book 5 #NutsinMay . I liked The Wives a bit better, but this was a good thriller. ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

What a ride!! While it wasn‘t as f‘d up as her other book it was still seriously crazy! A fast-paced book with crazy turns and an unforgettable ending!
Wow this book was crazy! I had a few theories and was only partially correct. This was hard to put down because there was so much going on and I needed to know how the stories connected to one another.
Tarryn does a really great job of writing characters that are far from perfect but they are real in all their imperfectness.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I wasn't really impressed with this book. I finished it because I do like the author. This book started out weird & finished pretty gruesome & I don't think it was necessary. I didn't connect with any of the characters & even when the big secret was revealed I didn't really care. Very disappointing.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I enjoyed this book a lot. Plenty of twists in this story. A homeless woman reeks havoc on an unsuspecting family. Things are not always as they seem.
I was totally invested and interested in this book but I expected more. I felt like there was going to be a big climax or twist and it just didn‘t happen like I was hoping. It was a good story though.
This book was very underwhelming 🥱 I saw most of the twists coming without even trying. Also so much of the book is just talking about their lives, I wanted a mystery! The last twist was a little shocking but still not enough for me to rate this book anymore than a 2.8 star book. I didn't like any of the characters so I wasn't rooting for anyone and I really could care less what happened to them 🤷🏻♀️
I literally could not put this book down! I‘m pretty sure that‘s the fastest I‘ve ever read a book in my entire life. Suspenseful, Fisher does an excellent job of keeping secrets from the reader.

Slow burner for sure told from 2 POVs! The ending was a shock I never expected. 3/5 stars #book #bookreview #books #read
Winnie and Nigel have a beautiful home, a beautiful life, and a beautiful son.
Juno is happily living as a guest in their house, although older and severely unwell, she is content living out her final days in peace.
But Winnie also has a secret she has been keeping, and now Juno is faced with the decision to intervene or let it go.
There was a twist that slightly surprised me, but not quite as many as I had been expecting or hoping for.
Crazy. 🍌
Hit after hit of holy sh*t. Unique storyline. I couldn't put it down.
This started off a little slow and strange, and the first twist felt extremely obvious to me from the get-go. But just when I was thinking it would be a "pan" for sure, it got less predicable. I can't say it was a pick, but I turned the pages quick enough for it to be mildly disappointing entertainment ??♀️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
🎧 DISAPPOINTED! The book started out a little confusing. Then there was a good half of the book that was such a good premise that I couldn‘t stop listening. There was a twisty great mystery.
Sadly it tanked ... none of the characters were remotely likable ... not even in a love-to-hate-them kinda way!! As the book went along Winnie REALLY got annoying then the ridiculous ending. So close to being a great book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️⭐️⭐️ The premise of this was creepy and intriguing, but I didn‘t love how the ending came together. It also didn‘t have the same “can‘t wait to keep reading” feel for me as “The Wives” (by the same author). 🎧
What I liked: Great plot twists! It kept me guessing the entire book. I‘d think I knew what was coming next, and BAM! it would take a hard left right, all the way to the end. The characters were all flawed, with those flaws slowly coming to light throughout the story.
What I didn‘t like: NOTHING! Well, it was a little confusing at the beginning, but for me, that was the hook. This is definitely a 5 star read. #bookstagram
This was a really interesting book. It was not what I expected at all when I started it to the end. There were a lot of twists and really makes you think about what goes on in your own home and how much you really know. This kept my interest all the way through and I didn‘t want to put it down!
How is Tarryn Fisher a best selling author? This book was awful and absolutely stupid. Not one of the characters were likeable. Seriously terrible character development. I had heard The Wives was awful from @TheNerdyProfessor but I had high hopes for this story anyway. It's like a million things happened in the book that didn't relate but the author haphazardly tried to fit them together. I would say don't waste your time.
STOP 👏 USING 👏MENTAL 👏 ILLNESS 👏 AS 👏 A 👏 PLOT 👏DEVICE! 👏
I wanted to give Tarryn Fisher a second chance after I HATED The Wives for the above reason, but I really shouldn‘t have bothered. Her use of mental illness as a plot device is even more atrocious and unnecessary in this book and I am completely done with her. Sick of this bullshit.

My surgery prep is taking forever. I brought this one with me for a quick read. I'm not going to lie, halfway done and I am really unimpressed.
Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. It took me a moment to realise that Juno was living in the same house as this family. Once I got that I was intrigued as to how it was all going to unfold. The twists came thick and fast in the last few chapters of this book. It was an ok read, nothing really stand out or page turning in my opinion. I did enjoy how it ended though. ⭐⭐⭐ #tarrynfisher #thewrongfamily
I love Tarryn Fisher‘s suspenseful psychological thrillers. She has a way of throwing in plot twists that make my jaw drop, and a way of ending books with me wanting to know more 🤭 I have a feeling I would have liked this so much better as a physical book instead of audio, but I‘ve been having a hard time focusing on reading since I had a procedure done earlier this week. If you liked The Wives, you‘ll probably love this!
A story about assumptions, random variables, and skeletons in the closet...At first, when you start this...you won‘t understand quite what‘s going on...and it was even a little slow-moving but just go with it because everything will start clicking pretty quickly.
1) Tagged.
2) I found myself listening to more audiobooks especially while cooking and doing housework.
3) Every Last Fear by Alex Finlay.

You think you know, but you don‘t! That‘s what someone told me while I was reading this, and while reading I thought to myself “yep, figured it out. It‘s so obvious.” Nope, they were totally right! I tend to fall asleep while reading (it sucks) so when a book is actually keeping me awake, even when I want to nap, it must be good!
✨ Unpopular opinion ✨ : I couldn‘t wait for this one to come out after The Wives was soo good, but it really fell flat for me. 😭 It is a slow burn, which is fine, but I really couldn‘t get into too much of it. Ughhh!
I‘ve never read the author‘s previous books so this was a complete surprise. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time Just when the lightbulb of knowing pops up, you find out you didn‘t really know anything at all. Definitely a must read.
Making tiny books for my tiny library, while listening to the tagged book.
Happy New Year! 🎈🎇🎉 Ending 2020 and Beginning 2021 with the tagged book. It‘s a good one.
I loved The Wives last year so I knew I had to read anything else the author writes. Wow... this book had so many twists and I didn‘t see any of them coming. This will be my last print book of 2020 and man was it a good one!
