best ali hazel wood book (so far)
Not bad, but not my favorite by the author.
Decent enemies to lovers trope. A little slower paced.
3.5 Stars
It was fun to read the nemesis to lover plot and see women in STEM. Very obvious where everything was going from the start, but still a great escapist read. I just wish the miscommunication piece didn‘t go on for so long. This also seemed very similar to Hazelwood‘s first novel, but since I‘d seen other reviews already saying that, I think that helped me temper my expectations and allowed me to enjoy this for what it was.
Loved some parts, didn‘t like others. Character wise, I liked Levi and only kinda got Bee. Caught on to Ali‘s book type. Science woman falls for tall and strong other stem guy. I love how sweet Levi is. This is one of her earliest books, and so it did feel closer to a rough draft than her later stories. Quick plot move around. That ending twist got me and I wish it made more sense. As in, I wish I could‘ve see how it made sense.
Can‘t believe I bailed on Ali Hazelwood!!! 😭 It just felt like the same plot generated story. As much as I LIVE for her books, once you‘ve read a couple, you really have read them all. Also, her friend was so annoying and just pushed it to being a total no from me
A good book, but not a great one. I‘ve much preferred other AH books, but I did enjoy most of it. The climax was odd, I saw the miscommunications coming miles away; the supporting characters were mostly fun. I liked Levi‘s relationship with his friend‘s widow and daughter. My big annoyance was 👆🏼; I get that Levi‘s family is military all the way, but there isn‘t an Air Force base in Houston. Seems like that could have been fixed pretty easily.
Possibly not as good as her first book but I was still pretty hooked throughout the story and read it pretty quickly. I love how these books can be funny and a great pass time. I love the accuracy of much of the science. However, I was not a fan of all the mentions from popular seemingly known scientists. The book is highly predictive overall but still enjoyed the storyline.
I can tell the miscommunications being set up are going to frustrate me but I am also sure I will tear through this audiobook regardless
Not a pick because I liked some parts hated others. But could relate to overthinker Bee, I think that‘s why I couldn‘t stop reading it.
Love this book!!! The plot was good. I love the idea of women being supported in the science field. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
I liked it but it wasn't my favorite. I thought the story was missing something. I was a little bit bored. I loved Levi but didn't care about the other characters .
I'm quite disappointed with this one. I loved The Love Hypothesis, but this didn't deliver the charm.
I found Bee incredibly irritating. The amount of times she mentions Marie Curie annoyed me but nowhere near as much as how she rambled on about veganism and every food was "vegan *insert any food item ever here*" we get it. Bore off.
Levi was cute, but he seemed to be a complete copy of Adam from TLH.
I couldn't decide between a so-so and a pan.
I think I liked this better than Love, Theoretically but I think I just liked the heroine a bit more? After reading two of Hazelwood‘s books in a row the male characters are SO similar and not fleshed out enough it left me wanting. But I think I like Levi better than Jack?? Also is it said like “levy” or like the jeans? Someone tell me!
I honestly don‘t remember much from The Love Hypothesis but I do know I definitely like LOTB more!
Finally got my custom PopSocket!
Tagged book: 32% - I‘m liking this more than TLH.
Go away, I‘m reading! 😝
Ah. The classic miscommunication trope. It‘s frustrating, but I still love me some romance reads in-between fantasy books.
Like an avenging, purple-haired Jedi bringing balance to the mansplained universe, Bee Königswasser lives by a simple code: What would Marie Curie do? If NASA offered her the lead on a neuroengineering project—a literal dream come true after years scraping by on the crumbs of academia—Marie would accept without hesitation.
+ LOVED Levi
- took about 100 pages to get into it almost DNF but Im happy I kept going
Listening to this one at work - hoping to lighten the mood in the office.
A quick romcom for a break. The neuroscience bits were very interesting, thus “pick”. The banter was ok. Other than that it was pretty much just like any other book by this author that I‘ve read, even down to character‘s physiques and turn of events🥱. Mature content. But it was a quick read, and now I can hopefully settle on my next book.
Book 2 in the Love Hypothesis series. This book is completely independent from the first one. Enemies to lovers romance book. The field of neuroscience is very dear to my heart so I loved all the references and chapter titles. The misunderstandings between Bee and Levi were a bit frustrating at times but overall I enjoyed the book.
This was cute. I found myself rolling my eyes with some interactions between Bee and Levi, but that's OK. The story was good enough to keep me invested. I don't read much romance, but I enjoyed this one and also enjoyed the love hypothesis. I might check more of her work soon.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Love Hypothesis was much better, but if you are looking for something similar this is it! The end was pretty predictable.
I finished this book late last night. I did enjoy the book, but not as much as the Love Hypothesis. It was still a good book to read. I enjoyed Bee and Levi very much. I will be reading more of this author's work. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars!!!
Easy to read escapist romp perfect for a quick read or to take on holiday almost as good as LH but I think 🤔 I‘m done now with the scientist love theme but still a good read
Valentines 💘 buddy reading starting tomorrow if anyone wants to join us ? ☺️

I like to read fun books at my Panera breakfasts, so it‘s my #doublebookspin this morning! @TheAromaofBooks
The tagged book is at the very top of my stack this month, and it turns out it‘s my #bookspin pick! I love It when things work out! 😂
Also excited for my #doublespin as I usually really enjoy the Audible Originals.
#Loveathon2023 starts today! I am focusing on romance all month, but these books are priorities. The tagged book is at the tippy top of the list!

“I understand. I can be patient. I‘ve tried, will try to be patient. But I need … something. I need you to understand that this is not a book you‘re writing. We‘re not - not two characters you can keep apart because it makes for a literary ending. These are our lives, Bee.”
Bee‘s selected to lead a NASA project along with her nemesis, Levi. While they‘re working together, she realizes that maybe he‘s not her nemesis, and starts to have feelings for him. How will that affect the project?
I really enjoyed this one. Levi‘s character as the love interest was perfect. Him and his chemistry with Bee was just beautifully written. The plot wasn‘t like any other I‘ve read. I just wish there was more diversity in race.
Starting 2023 off strong with two amazing reads!

This was a delightful, albeit slightly spicy, romantic comedy. I really enjoyed the banter between all the characters. Now to get back to my buddy reads

I read this in less than 24 hours. Definitely one to read if you enjoyed “The Love Hypothesis”. Adored it, such a cute and happy love story!
Omg I love this!!! I love Maisey Yates! I can‘t believe she‘s local to you AND leads your book club! Color me jealous! We all know authors are like rockstars here. Thank you, thank you, thank you! @MaleficentBookDragon #jolabokaflod
The kids and I have been home sick with the flu for the last 2 days, and this was a light, enjoyable distraction.
Belated November wrap-up! I finished 10 books last month, and seem to have read exclusively fantasy and/or romance.

I loved The Love Hypothesis, but this was horrible. The characters were so annoying and the plot was absolutely ridiculous. Bee is supposedly the best neurosciencist in her field, but somehow no one wants to work with her and her university is threatening to fire/replace her? And Levi is working on innovative projects at NASA, but can't be in the same room as a girl he thinks is cute? Don't even get me started on the sabotage at NASA. Ridiculous!
