This wasn‘t my favorite Hopkins book I‘ve read, but I appreciated the story and how it reflected on her personal experiences. I finished it in a day and although it was fairly predictable I enjoyed the story and felt for the main character.

Another Ellen Hopkins novel marked off of my list. As always, she does a great job building up unique characters. Fairly predictable, but still a good read just the same.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I‘ve read Ellen Hopkins two previous books Burned and Smoke. This was heart wrenching and beautifully written.
⭐️2/5
I typically love Ellen Hopkins, but this book just didn‘t do it for me. I only finished out of respect for Ellen. The book was way longer than necessary, the twist was blaringly obvious, and I didn‘t like any of the characters.
When's there nothing left to do but read...
Stuck at home with an upper respiratory infection. Doctor took me out of work for the next week so we will see how many books I finish during that time frame.
@bookcollecter pretty sure I'm going to finish this one today, so let me know if you want it and I'll send it to you. You can get a hold of me via www.goodreads.com/Nibech :)
I just came across a word that stopped me in my tracks for a second or two. I've heard this word spoken to me before, but haven't seen it in print. "Beaucoup" sounds like "boo-coo". "Beaucoup bucks" is a phrase my stepmother uses often.
Not time for reading! Time for kisses!
Man, I love Sasha, but I wanna read! My book is riiiiiiiiight there. Every time!

Does anyone else have 5 or 6 different books going at the same time all the time? I frequently "book hop". I wanted to read something new, not in a series, and get away from the usual fantasy fiction that I've been reaching for. Ellen Hopkins is one of my favorite authors for YA and Adult fiction.

I am obsessed with Ellen hopkins!!! (Anyone else? Just me? Okay 😂) she‘s amazing.
Rereading an old favorite ❤️
Started on this yesterday and am really enjoying it so far.
HELP! I‘m trying to choose my next book. Ellen Hopkins stand-alone “The You I‘ve Never Known” or or starting a new series- “Crusade” by Nancy Holder... I‘m taking votes!
Another solid storyline from Ellen Hopkins. I will definitely be picking up a physical copy of this book for my collection, but I recommend the audiobook as well. 💗
Ellen Hopkins is one of my very favourite authors, and she is the only author that I reread often. As a general rule, I pass along all of my books once I've read them, but i have my small collection of Ellen Hopkins that I reread every year. ❤️️
This one has been so good so far, and I will definitely be picking up a physical copy to add to my bedside collection. #audiobooks #ReadingThroughTheHolidays2017 ❤️️💚❤️️
How did I not know this book existed. Ellen Hopkins is my favourite. 💙 Getting started on this #audiobook while I wait to head to the library. ❤️
The You I‘ve Never Known by Ellen Hopkins is a poetry styled novel that really sucks you in. This novel would be only for a high school level because it follows the main character, Maya, and how her abusive mother left her and her dad at a young age. Maya unfortunately ends up dating an older man and ends up pregnant. With each page being set up as a poem and the plot being intriguing, this book would be an easy IR for a high schooler that may
Ariel is #sixteengoingonseventeen at the beginning of this novel. The poetry is a little more awkward than some of Hopkins‘ other books (though the teenagers in her books always seem to have awkward word choices and weird dialogues), but I‘ve always enjoyed her books, and this book contains some of Hopkins‘ prose, as well. I just started this recently...I‘m interested to see where it‘s headed.

I had such an amazing time meeting one of my favorite authors, Ellen Hopkins! During her event she discussed the story behind her first novel, Crank, as well as her other novels. There were some moments that gave me goosebumps, but many more moments where the audience was laughing along with her. It‘s not everyday that you get to meet one of your favorite authors personally. I am so thankful that I was able to have the opportunity!
All the book panels!! Plus individual lectures from so many other authors!!
This may become a DNF. I have really cooled on Hopkins writing style. I thought her early autobiographical books were some of the best with the prose poetry mix, but the more I read her, I am finding the style more of a distraction. I am afraid some other authors have moved the style forward a bit. I hate to write that, but I am finding I am not wanting to read this one.
Everything is okay here! Lots of rain and wind, but we're safe and sound indoors. Tiger Lily purrfectly captures my #CurrentMood.
I don't want to give too much away regarding Ellen Hopkins' newest book, but there are multiple themes that are problematic, to say the least. The major one for me was bisexuality being equated to promiscuity and cheating. Um, no. 😡

Trigger warning: Domestic abuse, homophobia, sexual assault
Had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. But I was able to save a butterfly with torn wings from getting stepped on, and now I get to sit and read with this cutie. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
As usual, Ellen Hopkins did not disappoint with her new novel. Hopkins is one of my favorite authors. In her newest novel, Ellen Hopkins tells the story of a girl who has been told almost her whole life that she has been abandoned by her mother. Ariel is at the age when she needs her mother the most as she tries to figure out who she is as a person. This novel shows that there can be a dark side to the ones you love the most. A definite must read!
I love Ellen Hopkins and her ability to write a story and characters you can't put down, even when the size of the book starts to hurt your hands. Her rawness, her emotions, and her willingness to share her life, even in a fictitious way, makes me admire her bravery even if the poetry thing is old. I did like how she wove prose into this book, and her opinions on Planned Parenthood and Scientology were also a bit unusual for her but very welcomed
Where #EllenHopkins explains how her ex-husband abducted their 3-year-old daughter and kept her away for 3 years...
Home is...
This weekend my friend and I went up to the Hudson Children's Book Festival. It was fabulous. I met so many amazing authors and came back with 10 signed books plus 2 free unsigned books. It was great meeting and getting to talk to Ellen Hopkins and so many others in such a casual setting. I'll definitely be hitting this one up annually.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great characters, powerful story, and amazing writing!

Book #1 of 2017
~
Hey everyone! It has been way too long since I've posted on here. I struggled to decide what to post on here, because I have my #bookstagram that I love, and I didn't want everything here to be the same as there. So, I've decided to feature each book I've read this year on here!

This stanza just made me stop for a moment and think about just how true it is.

I am looking forward to this read. I think Ellen Hopkins is incredibly talented to write her books through poetry. It astounds me and I love them. Can't wait to read this beauty.
I love Ellen Hopkins, but this book wasn't quite what I was expecting. The last 250 pages were exciting and what I expected, but the beginning was a bit of a struggle for me. Overall worth reading, though.

I love the verse writing of Ellen Hopkins. I'm looking for more books written in verse if you know of any, all suggestions welcome! 😀
This is #whereiread. The lighting is good and it's pretty comfy. #riotgrams #day2
School was cancelled due to snow, my little guy is sick, I have three other little ones I'm taking care of but I'm DETERMINED to get this started today!
I have loved Ellen Hopkins' books since Crank came out many years ago. I love all of them. This one isn't my favorite but it is still a powerful story that is wonderfully written!
This book couldn't have come at a better time! It helped shake me out of my book hangover from ACOMAF. I LOVE Ellen Hopkins!! ❤❤
Are you an Ellen Hopkins fan? What did you think of her latest book?
10 books for middle grade and young adult readers with great adult cross-over appeal. Short descriptions on my blog today. Can't wait to get reading. All of these are publishing in January. Here's hoping it's a fabulous book year, even if life is uncertain in other areas. http://www.bethfishreads.com/2016/12/10-books-for-tweens-and-teens.html
I've been craving a verse novel, and thanks to #edelweiss I was able to score Ellen Hopkins upcoming #TheYouIveNeverKnown. Her YA novels are gritty and real, and so far this is no exception!
