Today we moved into our new home and stressed out the animals. We don‘t officially close until tomorrow, but it‘s supposed to pour so tomorrow starts the unpacking and cleaning and figuring out where stuff is. I‘ve been going non stop for three days now and you‘d think I‘d be exhausted, but I was wide awake the second my head hit the pillow. I‘m just mad my kindle charger is in a box and it‘s almost dead.
Please ignore the extra mess in the picture. What you are looking at is 8 storage bins of books. There are 2 more black bins not pictured, making 10 total. This is just the books downstairs. 😬
Why are my books in bins? Because by the end of this wonderful month of October Man Cub and I will be moved in to our first house! We are beyond excited.
1. Hmmmm, 1, 2, 3.......11.
2. 9 miles. I like the Detroit area!
3. 20-ish
4. Never again!
5. Only once. It was sooooo much easier.
1️⃣ 18. I can pack a kitchen better than anyone.
2️⃣ 5270 km, between Québec City and Paris
3️⃣ Last move, it was 82, but the time before that it was 101, because it included the research books. I've culled a lot since.
4️⃣ Hopefully, the next move is back to Québec. This is our "as long as it takes before we move back" home
5️⃣ Yay!!!! I am Never going back to self moving. Never.

It doesn‘t look like much but this is my new apartment I‘m moving into this weekend and this will be transformed into my office. I got a corner desk, and a day bed(!!!) for amazing reading times. I‘m excited to make this a home and for it to be my last apartment before I buy a house!
I think all the books are unpacked, but there‘s no way I have empty shelf space. 🤔
I'm sensing some judgment from my friend Brian, who had helped me pack up my condo...
Future home of my library!
Funny story: I was at my sister's while the movers unloaded our stuff and my mom said they kept asking to meet "the Erika with all the books". ?
I knew we had books, but I didn't realize how many. We've traded in a lot, given away a bunch, our #littlefreelibrary will be full for a while, and these boxes contain many books. But there are so many more to pack. 😳
Today was moving day for my library. It's been a long time coming! Last night we packed up all the reserves to send to another branch (just until we reopen in our temporary home) and today a small team (including me), unpacked and alphabetised all of these in just under 2 hours... 👌
A new house is not a home until your hundreds of books are unpacked, alphabetized, & re-shelved.
