Amiable I know how you feel —the past 4 years have been so horrifyingly chaotic that we can‘t feel a complete sense of relief even now! I think we‘re going to have a national case of Trump-induced PTSD for a long time. 😖 4y

Bookwomble It's a face-saving show that will fade away as he won't spend his own money on it, and his backers will evaporate, along with their funding, now that he is of little use to them. 4y

BookishMarginalia Projected because until each state certifies its final election results, and the electoral college casts each state‘s votes (in December), and Congress accepts the results (in early January), it‘s not technically official, but for all intents and purposes, yes it is. (I‘m a lawyer — the lawsuits are meritless. Each state is following its own election laws, as each state must. They just have 50 different ways of doing things.) 4y

KatieDid927 It‘s mathematically impossible for Biden to lose. Recounts don‘t usually shift a count by more than a couple hundred votes. He‘s losing by 10s of thousands, in multiple states. It‘s as decisive as Obama‘s 2012 re-election. 4y

Samary Little late to this, but I agree w @KatieDid927 there isn‘t a way for trump to climb back up. However, the electoral college meets Dec 15 and if they get to enough legislators they can just give trump the presidency with EC votes. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/03/coronavirus-election/608989/ 4y

KatieDid927 @Samary True but I don‘t think this will happen either. The electoral college has never directly subverted the will of the people that way. And even IF they could flip them for a single state, say, it still wouldn‘t be enough to win. Biden‘s lead in the electoral college is also insurmountable. There are reports Jared has already approached him about conceding. It‘s over. 4y

I don‘t understand how anyone supports someone who says there are good people on both sides of racism, who can‘t keep anyone in his cabinet, who thinks the economy is worth more than the lives of the most vulnerable, who mocks mask wearing and death threats and who wants to do it all for 4 more years.

NovelGirl82 Agreed 100% I deactivated my Facebook months ago so that I didn‘t have to interact with my Trump loving family anymore than absolutely necessary. (thankfully they live 750 miles away) I‘m the black sheep liberal🤷‍♀️ I stood in line for an hour in the blowing West TX dirt after work on Friday to proudly cast my vote! 4y

SamAnne I get the sentiment. I‘ve spent the past two weekends deep in Trump country. I have neighbors who I rely on for so much who lean that way—for weird reasons they don‘t vote thankfully. But for those of us who can, who aren‘t as vulnerable, it is valuable to try and reach across the divide and try to have a conversation and change minds. It‘s the only way it happens. Oh, but it is hard. And people are being fed so much misinformation and fear. 4y

Patchshank I'm baffled how he still has so many supporters. My mind is blown by the level of stupidity. He has proven time and time again he doesn't care about anything but himself. And still over 40% of people like him. The party over country bullshit needs to stop. The republican party as a whole now flaunt their corruption. Republican voters need to vote differently or it's just going to get worse. Need to get fewer crazies in office. 4y
