Asking: does anyone else feel like this is an Austin novel stretched out over multiple volumes? I enjoy it but I‘m ready to move faster and have so many more books I want to read. Do I continue this reading investment? Has anyone read all of the volumes?
Revisiting The Irrational Season as I first read it when in my 30s. I actually think I may be past that season and I‘m enjoying this second reading from the perspective of my 60s.

1. Tee-shirt from my sister - wore it to physical therapy today 😊
2. Activity book from her too 😂
3. Saw the moon setting at 3 a.m. when I couldn‘t sleep — photo doesn‘t show how orange it was! 😮
4. Seeing the perfect work of my surgeon in the X-rays! 👏
5. In the 70s here all week so enjoying reading outside 😎
@Bookwormjillk Thanks for sharing this quiz! I was skeptical but as I was answering, I could see the definite choices I was making. 90% is pretty definitive. 😊 Here, play and tag and share

“I have found that the practice of breath prayers allows me to take little sabbath moments during the day.”
Here is a book of breath prayers, sabbath moments. The author has written 4-line breath prayers for each Psalm, focusing heart and mind on the psalmist‘s themes and God‘s character.
When a sentence just stops you in your reading tracks.
My happy place is always outside. My dad‘s old swing, our bubbling fountain, and a well-written book read in the sun. Thank you to my husband for carrying stuff out there for me. 😊
#5JoysFriday already?! 😂
@DebinHawaii
1. Discovering a book series on Litsy! 😁
2. Getting a Support Potato from my sister-in-love for surgery recovery 💛
3. Seeing my son‘s name in his local paper as he admins a performing arts center in WI! 👏
4. Sitting on my dad‘s old bench swing to read this week ❤️
5. Receiving an unexpected book from a friend! 😃
I discovered this series here on Litsy! I loved the quirky characters and witty descriptions - I love writing that prompts out loud giggles. Guess I‘m hooked into reading the series!

All right here:
My pain meds after total knee replacement surgery
Coffee
My water
Nikki Grimes‘ book of poems, Glory, Too (love, love, love this one)
Bag of dark chocolate covered almonds my neighbor gave me
I‘m well taken care of 💛
Had my 2nd total knee replacement surgery yesterday so when awake today, I‘ll be reading. I like having to slow down and read, but I‘m very grateful that I only have two knees and won‘t have to do this again any time soon. 😊
This reviewer‘s post is better than the book. Striking points regarding the inaccuracies related to society and culture. This: “the tools of tomorrow have disturbingly been…byproducts of violence.” I appreciate the reviewer‘s “Try this instead” section at the end of the review.

Oh, I wish you could see/hear the video of “my” little finch enjoying the fountain in my backyard! Perfect day for reading this book that I found at #bartsbooks in Ojai, CA. 💛

Read this several years ago. Should reread because I remember liking the book but don‘t remember specifics.

5 Joys:
1. My husband baked peanut butter chocolate chip cookies 😊
2. My jail tutees are trusting me to help them 💛
3. Much needed rain
4. Texts with my sons who live across the country ❤️
5. Visiting my mom tomorrow which includes a beautiful 3-hour drive up the coast! 🌊
Today‘s rainy afternoon read while husband watches UCLA basketball. 😊
Though, right now it‘s Wisconsin basketball. 😐
Which one? I‘ve started both and can‘t decide which to read. Opinions?? 👍👎
Just discovered the Bookstore Sisters. It may not be Sunday evening, but enjoying a #hygge experience on this rainy afternoon in southern CA. 💛 Oh, couldn‘t include the book in the photo because I‘m reading it on my@phone‘s Kindle app 😊
I‘d never heard of George Gadson and found him by accident when searching for Christian poetry/art books. His poems are like brief psalms — a heart‘s whispered prayers, the mind‘s view of life. His sculptures are beautiful!

Now to start reading Hester, I think.

The alliteration and rhythm mimics the sense of urgency; I can feel the galloping and the heartbeat of the moment. I‘m late to the party, but I‘m loving this work.
Reminds me of lines I memorized in high school simply because they were true:
“We look before and after,
And pine for what is not:
Our sincerest laughter
With some pain is fraught;”

1. Which ones have you read? Not as many as I should have! Great to see a more diverse list than when I was teaching, but I do love Hemingway, Lord of the Flies, Crime & Punishment.
2. Share your score if you want to — 32
3. Which are your favorites — The Power and Glory, all Austen & Hardy novels
4. Tag a few — @Desha @RamsFan1963 @DebinHawaii
Enjoying a cozy, rainy morning, my dark coffee, and leisurely reading

#MentalHealthMonday 💛 1. Last week was hard — at least one former student lost her dad to deportation — I taught in the midst, literally, of southern CA farm fields
2. Eager to volunteer at the county jail .
3. Getting to know Litsy, reading more, and rain that we‘re supposed to get. 😊
I‘m tutoring incarcerated college-age young people and want to give them books. County officer says: “it has to be a paperback and appropriate (ie, no overly sexual content, no gruesome killings, etc)” — one of the girls has read all of #friedamcfadden books, and wondering if anyone here can give me suggestions for more books to get her — she loves #mysteries Thanks!
So true of our society
Renewed love for the Psalms as these paraphrases spoke in clear words, expressing the various emotions experienced daily. #christiannonfiction #psalms
#FirstLineFridays @ShyBookOwl :
Still haven‘t seen the connection to Cinderella but I‘m only a third in. @Desha
#5JoysFriday @DebinHawaii 5 joys:
Joining Litsy because of @Desha sharing it.

My son‘s post-it note illustration.
