I went to The Chaumont Garden Festival on Sunday & had a fantastic time walking through all the gardens inspired by works of fiction (and all the others too!) This is the Alice in Wonderland one: not the greatest photo, unfortunately...

Would you rather live forever by?
a) The Lake of Shining Waters
b) The Violet Vale
c) Lovers Lane
d) The Dryads Bubble
e) The White Way of Delight
f) The Haunted Wood
…You won‘t catch me complaining in paradise but yearning fans should know: you won‘t find The White Way of Delight at the Museum or the Heritage site! I was quietly undone. 🥺 There‘s a golf course & a fairly busy road brushing elbows with all the lovely nature paths at the latter.
The Patchwork Girl herself is pretty fun, but most of the other characters are annoying. I‘m getting kind of sick of Baum‘s formula of “some characters get together and travel around Oz, encountering all kinds of weird people and things that have never before been mentioned existing, and the problem is solved in a way that could have been done all along.” I did enjoy the bits of romance between Scraps and the Scarecrow.
Tomorrow begins the #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead of Emily of New Moon! I‘ll post weekly check-ins, and we‘ll discuss the book in full on Saturday, July 12. Schedule is above. All are welcome—please comment if you‘re not tagged and you‘d like to be!

Thank you to my Mother In-Law for lending me her Harry Potter collection! I finally finished the first one tonight & can't wait to begin the second one! I adore the films and I have a feeling I will adore the books just as much, if not more! 🥰
After reading 20 ND novels now, I certainly have to put myself up with the fact that there are always two mysteries that are inexplicably connected to each other and a lot of weird accidents/incidents. Now I am not shaking my head and rolling my eyes anymore, I just enjoyed the read. 🤣
We‘ve arrived in PEI 🪻
A monotonous morning, weather-wise, but I‘m still alight with wonder! How could I not be when this is the view right outside our doorstep?
I first read “whizbang” in Nancy Drew 19 last month. Soon after, I read “whizbang” in a brand new novel retelling Pride and Prejudice, titled Stuck Up and Stupid. On Saturday, I knew right away that the answer to the NYT Mini 4 Down was amusingly enough, “whizbang”.

💙 Indoors - We had elaborate Barbie play. Big family trees, backstories, lots of drama, VERY soap-operatic. Outdoors - CAPTURE THE FLAG! So many great memories of playing this in our neighborhood.
💙Book - Someone got me a copy of Outside Over There when my sister was born. It had quite an impact, but also creeped me out! Movie - The Wizard of Oz. I loved when it was on TV once a year - we always made it a big event.
