If you love #comedy history you will love this book. With the recent passing of #MitziShore & the success of the Showtime series based on this book (not a retelling) it seems right to mention it in my feed. I will likely post more comedy inspiration later but this is a keeper. A great read with a lot of personal meaning for me & those who love the #comedystore and #LA #standup comedy. RIP Mitzi. :(

The Big Nowhere was a big surprise. The second of James Ellroy‘s L.A. Quartet, the novel follows similar themes of crime, paranoia & a dark Hollywood underbelly amidst the backdrop of Los Angeles in 1950. Probably the most enjoyable crime noir fiction I‘ve read #toughguybookclub #crime #noir #LA
