Finished this audio book. The booktuber suggested it saying there were spooky sounds but I didn‘t hear any. there doesn‘t seem to be another edition of the audiobook. As for the book it was alright, felt like it was a bit stale in parts and is so different from the movie, I kept picturing them as the actors from the 1999 movie. Did everyone else enjoy this?

allureofbeauty @Geeklet I knew it was nothing like the Netflix tv show but I didn‘t realize how vastly different it would feel than the 99 movie. I‘ve only seen the original movie once eons ago and I can‘t speak for that. But yea I couldn‘t shake that movie out of my head while reading it either. Kind of want to rewatch it now. 5y

Shirley Jackson is just brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed this #buddyread of #thehauntingofhillhouse! Her creation of this fabulous protagonist and the gradual, insidious way that the Haunting takes her over is brilliantly scary and impactful. The psychology at the center of the novel gives the story its power.

Finished Spinning Silver on Friday and I'm now trying to decide what to read next (besides my other current reads!) Should I go for #Rebecca by #DephneDuMaurier or #TheHauntingofHillHouse by #ShirleyJackson ?? Heard so much about the Netflix series too.
