I loved the Marrow Thieves by this author so I was excited to read this. Paid full price. About half way through and I just find it flat. To continue or no?
This was a rec I saw from a fellow Litten and I enjoyed it a lot! It was really so fascinating. Definitely made me see cemeteries in a new way. I also thought learning the history of it all was so interesting. I weirded my family out as I shared with all of them the various things I learned like how/when embalming bodies started 😂

Gosh I really loved this book. The writing is beautiful, almost lyrical sometimes, and the story was so compelling & moving.
It is a ghost story, a love story. It's about grief & how difficult it is to move forward. It's about family & identity and what it means to feel like you don't belong.
I loved the subtle magical realism of it all. I appreciate the indigenous perspective of this author & the depth it brings to her characters and storytelling

I really liked this book. So much social criticism related with rituals/ceremonies. The pain of that father was so intense, deep. Great character driven novel. I know, maybe an unpopular opinion but I really liked this one. My door to read SK books. The movies adaptations are garbage for me👎
My all time favorite book. I just love it so much and the Cemetery of Forgotten Books is an amazing idea. The tradition is that when someone visits the cemetery for the first time, he or she must choose a book and adopt it, promising to always keep it alive. If you haven‘t read this, you need to!! #scarathlonphotochallenge #cemetery #blackcatcrew
