The Bride Collector | Ted Dekker

For the first time since coming here, Brad considered the possibility that he had entered a world where the minds were not sick when compared with his, simply greater - and learning to cope. Like Paradise, they were so powerful they required special systems that lesser minds, like his, did not. #teddekker #thebridecollector #mentalillness #gifted #greatminds #misunderstood #mentallyillgenius

#NoFemmeber I‘m going to try to incorporate #NonFictionNovember into this challenge and only post books that are NF all month. Nancy Kerrigan was the ultimate #IcePrincess back in the day until Tonya tried to usurp her crown😜I haven‘t watched I, Tonya but I heard it was excellent ⛸🥇Tagged book sounds great, too!! And I‘m super mesmerized by the shady business of the ISU & ladies figure skating #TeamHailey 💕

Megabooks I loved I, Tonya! It‘s on Hulu in the US. I have this book on my Kindle, but I haven‘t read it yet. I‘ll have to move it up. Kinda forget which books I own! 😊 (edited) 6y
vivastory I, Tonya sounds great. 6y
Cinfhen Yes, it‘s super easy to bury books on the Kindle @Megabooks and I‘ll check out Hula. I‘m pretty sure my hubby watched it that way and he said I, Tonya was really good @vivastory and he doesn‘t dish out the compliments 😉 6y

TrishB I would never have enough NF! 6y
LeahBergen That photo of Tonya! 😂😂 6y
Cinfhen I really enjoy NF but I don‘t read enough of it @TrishB I‘m gonna try this month to read a few more and certainly highlight those books!! 6y
Cinfhen I know @LeahBergen it‘s perfect 😀💟 6y
JennyM Ooo, great pick! 6y
Cathythoughts Nice one 👍🏻💙 ( n......ice one 😬 too corny 😘😘 6y
arlenefinnigan I, Tonya is a great film. I did feel quite sorry for her after watching it. 6y
GripLitGrl Perfect👏👏 6y
Cinfhen Hahahaha @Cathythoughts that‘s totally my type of joke 🌽🌽🌽🌽Hubby said the same thing @arlenefinnigan Poor, Tanya @JennyM @GripLitGrl #Misunderstood 6y
StephanieGeiser I, Tonya was great! I definitely recommend it! 6y
GatheringBooks oh wow indeed! 6y
Billypar This was a great choice, and I'm excited to see more non-fiction picks this month. With fiction I've got the usual gigantic TBR problem, but for NF I never know what to pick up next. 6y
Cinfhen I have a feeling you‘ll be seeing a lot of true crime and memoirs @Billypar and I‘ll probably have not read most 🙄 6y
Cinfhen I think I feel a binge watch coming up @StephanieGeiser ⛸⛸⛸ 6y
Billypar @Cinfhen Both of those suit me fine! 6y
Reviewsbylola I remember when this happened, even tho I was only a kid. Poor Nancy! 6y
Cinfhen It was crazzzy town @Reviewsbylola 😱🤯and I loved it❣️❣️❣️ 6y

#ReadingResolutions #heartwrenching #misunderstood 🤧A busy week plus a cold have me combining challenge prompts to catch up. I went to a writer's workshop last Saturday & took a creative non-fiction session from this author. Her book is the heart-wrenching story of a real-life Japanese-American family caught up on opposite sides of WWII. I like reading about different sides & perspectives as I think many aspects about this war are misunderstood.

Eggs I too love reading different perspectives of that war...have been studying it much of my life and still learning! 7y
LeahBergen Have you heard of this book? It was just chosen as the winner of this year‘s Canada Reads 7y
JaclynW Good point!! It can be quite eye-opening and mind-blowing to see things from another point of view - if we allow ourselves to. 7y
DebinHawaii @LeahBergen I have not but it sounds good. Thank you. Stacking it! 📚👍 7y
Laalaleighh This sounds amazing. Stacking. Looking forward to your review! 7y

#EleanorOliphant was one of our @LitsyBuddyRead picks last year and I absolutely loved it! Eleanor is certainly very misunderstood and she misunderstands many things and situations throughout the book. If you haven‘t read this one, I recommend you do. This book has a little bit of everything and it will stick with you long after you read the last page.

Pretty much every character in this book was #misunderstood by the others. Both sad and touching.

In the beginning it was all about bullying; a travesty that persists. One of the most #misunderstood horrors that occurred 😔 A most fascinating read and lesson for those who care to learn.

OrangeMooseReads 👍🏼 agree 7y
Cathythoughts I haven‘t read this , I tried to buy it on Audible ( not available, only critique s on it ) .. my son is lending it to me. We were trying to figure why it‘s not available on audio book ?? Maybe some rights ? ... anyway I look forward to closing this gap in my education ... my son loves it. 👍🏻 7y

britt_brooke @Cathythoughts None of Salinger‘s book are on audio or ebook to my knowledge. Must be something with his estate. I hope you like it! 7y
Cathythoughts Thankyou , it‘s up for me soon. I think I will love it. I‘ll keep you posted 👍🏻❤️ 7y
Leftcoastzen Salinger would have rather gone up in flames than authorize ebook or audio.Don‘t know if his heirs will change that. 7y
mrp27 💚💚 7y
britt_brooke @Leftcoastzen Completely agree! 🔥 7y
vivastory I love this! 7y
LaLecture I hated him so much but I still wanna buy a t-shirt that says “Holden Caulfield thinks you‘re a phoney”. I saw one on dftba.com and it‘s sooo funny xD. I love jokes that not many people understand ^^. 7y
jillrhudy Interesting. I didn‘t know authors could veto formats. 7y
britt_brooke @LaLecture I‘ve seen shirts and buttons with that phrase. 😉 (edited) 7y
britt_brooke @jillrhudy He‘s known for being a recluse and not being technologically inclined. I don‘t know this for a fact, but I assume that there‘s something in his estate that keeps these formats from being published. 7y
LaLecture @britt_brooke Do you have one? I‘d love to know how people react ^^. I fear no one would understand it as the book isn‘t that popular where I live 😅. 7y
jillrhudy @britt_brooke oh. I thought he was long dead. Guess as a librarian I should have known better. 7y
britt_brooke @LaLecture I don‘t. But I would if I didn‘t have a son named Holden. I think it might look super lame. 😆 Where do you live? It could be a good conversation starter. 😁 7y
britt_brooke @jillrhudy I had to google it, but he died in 2010. Seems like it should be longer ago than that. He was 91. 7y
LaLecture @britt_brooke Yeah, if people thought you were talking about your son it might not be that funny anymore ^^. Did you name him after the book? I live in Germany. For a long time I only knew “The Catcher In the Rye” because it‘s mentioned in American books and movies as a book many people read in school xD. 7y
britt_brooke @LaLecture Yes, he‘s named for the book - it‘s one of mine and my husband‘s favorites. 💚 7y

I think that Draco is a very misunderstood character especially near the end of the series.... I didn‘t like him at all until you saw how he was struggling with finding his place in life! #misunderstood #readingresolutions @Jess7
