I‘m sharing my 2023 Audible Stats. Summer 2023 was when I became really interested in Greek Mythology. I still like it but I‘ve been taking a break from it for a while. There‘s still other books I want to read. I‘m hoping to catch up on my Netgalley ARCs this year so I can read my backlist. I want to read what I own.

Happy New Year! Here‘s to a great year of reading for us all! 🤩📚🎉💜

#storygraph has released the #storygraphwrapup and included shareable images to boot (I‘m pretty sure this is new as I don‘t remember a graphic like this last year). I was able to read two more graphic novels yesterday so my total went up a teensy bit. Have already set new and higher reading goals for this year, naturally 😆

TieDyeDude 💪🎉 3mo
Deblovestoread How do I make this happen? I have my whole long wrap up but can‘t figure out the shareable images. Feeling a little dumb 🫤 3mo
Eyelit @Deblovestoread on my wrapped at the very bottom there were two hyperlinks… one said share cover collage and the other said share summary graphic - the pic above is the summary graphic. Hope that helps! 3mo
Deblovestoread Thank you! I don‘t appear to have the links. I will contact them. Thanks for the help 😊 3mo

My Storygraph stats are very clear again and I am loving them. 2023 has been a good reading year in which I‘ve discovered some great new to me authors whose backlists will keep me busy for some time to come. My genres haven‘t changed much (although I have read way too few classics) and I still like my books reflective, dark and emotional 😃

Soubhiville StoryGraph is really perfect for us isn‘t it? 💜 3mo
squirrelbrain So interesting! I really need to start using StoryGraph again. 3mo
CBee I am also in the dark, reflective, and emotional camp 😁 With a lot of mystery added in 😊 3mo

Sapphire I love StoryGraph; the stats are awesome but so are the challenges and the reading journal. It has enhanced my reading life so much 3mo

I love StoryGraph to keep track of my reading, for the reading challenges and of course for their stats. My 2022 stats really do show me who I am 😀

MatchlessMarie I think using StoryGraph might be one of my goals this year. I made an account a while back but never really fiddled with it. 📊📚 1y
ChaoticMissAdventures Our pie charts look similar! Love a dark, reflective, challenging read. 1y
Amiable I love the Storygraph stats, too! And I feel validated when I see others who also lean so hard into the dark, challenging and emotional books. 😀 (edited) 1y

BarbaraBB @MatchlessMarie It really is very cool, though not very social (there is no interaction possible) but I don‘t mind that! 1y
BarbaraBB @ChaoticMissAdventures @Amiable I wasn‘t aware before that I tend to read so many dark books 🤓 1y
Megabooks Great year!! 1y
Suet624 Okay,I signed up a year ago. I guess I‘ll try to be consistent with it this year. 1y

These are my reading stats from Goodreads. A long time ago, I put a lot of pressure on myself to read a lot and I used to participate in readathons. I also used to participate in photo challenges on Bookstagram and make monthly TBRs. Last year, I participated in reading challenges. I still like doing monthly wrap-ups because I like seeing the books I read during the month. Mood reading is working out better for me.

The Storygraph shows some interesting about my reading during the first four months of the year. What does it say about me that I mostly read emotional, reflective, challenging and dark books?! Literary though 😉 and not necessarily my daily mood!

It‘s a fun app!

LoverOfLearning Wow how many books have you read so far this year?

I like the app as well!
2y
Amiable I hear you —StoryGraph says I lean mostly towards emotional, informative, sad and dark! 2y

Part 2 of my stats:

I want to flip my fiction/nonfiction percentages in 2022. Just for a change.

Also my reading definitely dropped off after I got Molly 🐶💜 in late August, so I don‘t think I‘ll hit 520 in 2022!

HollyBolly I don't want to quite flip my fiction and nonfiction, but I hope to even them out more. I had 6% nonfiction. I smiled at your percentages. 2y
Megabooks @HollyBolly until the last couple of months of the year, it was 60% NF and then I got tired of memoirs! 😂 good luck with your 2022 goals! 2y
HollyBolly @Megabooks Thanks you too! Which memoirs were your favorites? I think memoirs are a good place to start for me. 2y
See All 11 Comments
Daisey Love the visual stats! I exported my Goodreads shelves to StoryGraph but then did not stay caught up entering books there. I wonder how long it would take me to catch up so I could make some more fun graphs like these. 2y
Megabooks @HollyBolly unbound by Tarana Burke, crying in H mart, Bourdain by Laurie woolever (biography not memoir), and 2y
Megabooks @HollyBolly all time fav: I am I am I am by Maggie o‘Farrell, know my name by Chanel Miller 2y
Megabooks @Daisey probably not too long because I hadn‘t used gr in awhile and was able to do 2020 and a lot of my favorite prior reads in a few hours. I guess it would depend on your ability to have a few hours free though! 2y
HollyBolly @Megabooks Thanks! I will definitely look into these! 2y

TheatreSpaz I'm so glad you posted this, I've been trying to get away from goodreads and this was the perfect incentive to try something else! I just downloaded Storygraph and am importing my library now. 2y
BarbaraBB @TheatreSpaz I am glad to be of help. It really is an app with cool features and it is great for keeping track of your reading and possible reading challenges. I don‘t use GoodReads much anymore. 2y
keithmalek I never heard of this, and would love to do it. Thanks for posting. 2y
keithmalek @BarbaraBB I would only use it for the graphs, but I'm looking at it and can't figure out how to make one. Does it just do it for you automatically? 2y
BarbaraBB @keithmalek Yes it does. When you finding and ‘review‘ a nooit collects your data and the general data of the book. When you click on your name in the menu you can view the option ‘Stats‘. 2y
BkClubCare Ok, I might finally get to this app 😂 2y
thebluestocking I might have to try out Storygraph! And I love tracking my reading for just the reason you mentioned - things change over time. 💙 2y
BarbaraBB @BkClubCare @thebluestocking It‘s a very nice and easy app. Nothing too fancy, it‘s not about interacting with others in my opinion but it‘s great for tracking your reads. 2y
BkClubCare @BarbaraBB - quick question… is it more of a computer site or to be used as a smartphone app? (Cuz I can‘t get it to find my books I am reading in the app. Wondering if it is overloaded this Jan 1) 2y
BkClubCare And feel free to tell me to do my own research 🤪🤣 2y
BkClubCare @thebluestocking - we can learn it together! 2y
BarbaraBB @BkClubCare I mostly use it as an app but the desktop / website works well too. I did have a problem accessing today too though so I think you might be right about the overloading! 2y

My midyear stats on #TheStorygraph. Very different from yours, @Megabooks although we both love reflective books. Love these stats and proud of where I stand today 💪🏽😀

Megabooks Those are fantastic stats! We do both like reflective, emotional books, but I read a heck of a lot more nonfiction! 😁 Our average book length is similar as well. Both right around 300 pages. High five friend ✋🏻, great job!!! 😘 3y

BarbaraBB @squirrelbrain It really is totally up your alley! You should make use of it. And you‘d like it too @Hooked_on_books it‘s not a social medium, just for keeping track of reading and challenges! 3y

Yearly wrap up ❤️ 79 books read (I didn‘t have a goal set) total library savings: $1,181. Total money spent:$359 😅 a shocking 91% audiobooks overall (my fave format is ebook. Craziness working on the front lines may have affected this 🤔) 64% adult 35% YA. Nice to see I saved so much money on books! 😃 Here‘s to an even BETTER 2021! 🎊

JamieArc As a data dork, I love this 😍 3y
HOTPock3tt @JamieArc Oh I ADORE this kind of thing too! ❤️🤗 Keeping track all year was fun! Also I like to know how much money I‘m saving vs. spending on books! 3y

JamieArc I have been wanting to track how much I save/spend on books - I think I will do that in 2021. I would be scared to see those numbers for 2020. I really took “support your local bookstores” to heart and went all out! 😂 3y

📚7 more books than last year
📚WAY more library books this year! Pandemic or because I have a kindle?
📚15% print, 41% digital, 44% audio (first full year with a kindle)
📚I tracked publishers for the first time in 2020. I‘m not sure the data is interesting. Half are PRH titles. Imprint with the most books only had 4, and five had 3. I‘ll track one more year to see if the same imprints come up.
How was your reading year? Show me the numbers!

Thought I would join the fun of showing a few goodread stats. Had a pretty good year of reading! I keep additional stats in my bullet journal and such but it‘s fun to see what my Goodreads shows. I don‘t always keep perfect track though 🤪 my favorite stat from GR is the least popular, that‘s what I look for when you all post your stats! 😂

Lcsmcat That‘s my favorite stat too! (I‘m not sure what that says about us. 🤷🏻‍♀️) 4y
marleed I‘m the same. I drill down to the most/least popular on every post. I wish they tagged it least read though as popular is a term with connotations. My most pop was an older YA but someone pointed that YA gains new readers every year which sustains the popularity for a book. Interesting! 4y
Ash.on.the.line @Lcsmcat hmm I‘m not sure either! 🤔😂 4y
Ash.on.the.line @marleed Yes I think that‘s a more suitable term. I never considered that about YA. Mine was HP so I may be in that same situation. 4y

I am trying this reading tracker google doc I found (maybe from bookriot?). It‘s a little tedious to fill out, but I am gonna looove having all these stats.

Hestapleton Yes I‘m using this one too! It‘s a pain to fill out, agreed, but those charts are just so prettyyyyyy 5y
DGRachel This is great! I am still in the process of moving my 2018 log into this Book Riot one and I started using it for 2019. I love all the data it tracks and the pretty charts. The only change I made was instead of the DNF drop down, I am tracking whether a book counts for MountTBR. That took me a bit of time to figure out how to get all the results and charts tabs to work right, but I am happy with the change. 5y

I try to read fairly widely, and I know my favorite genre is Fantasy, but surprisingly less than half the books I read were in that genre. I‘m also surprised by how many Memoirs I read and how few Graphic Novels I got around to reading. I didn‘t realize how few ebooks I read this year and that audiobooks would take the lead! I also know that I read a ton of Young Adult Fantasy books, but, hey, there were some Adult Fantasy books in there, too! 😄

MrBook Wow!!! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 5y

My GR app wouldn‘t let me screen shot my 2018 stats so I took a pic the old fashioned way! 📸 It was a good year of reading for me! I surpassed my goal of 63 books; I‘m hoping to finish 71 in 2019 🤓

So, I had some fun making charts earlier... 😂

Top: I still read primarily fiction this year, but I also read a lot more nonfiction than in previous years (last year I didn‘t read any 😬). I‘m going to #blameitonlitsy. You guys have recommended some great nonfiction this year. Thanks for that! 😄💕

Bottom: Usually, I read about 50/50 male/female authors. This year it skews a bit more female.

Thanks for your vote of confidence Goodreads but It‘s time to call it for the year.

julesG Picture books might work. Do you have a library with a well-stocked children's section? 5y
BookHermit @julesG Lol. I‘m cool with falling short this year. I don‘t count any work under 100 pages anyway. 5y

August was a good month for me. I got through the first three of my #makemereadit books , did a buddy read of Peyton Place, read my book club book, and read a couple more! Hands down favorite was A Little Life followed by A Song of Achilles, both of which were #makemereadit books. Most disappointing was An Unwanted Guest, which was a bit too tidy.

MinDea Great books this month!!! 6y
Rissreads A little life is one of my favourites! 6y
violabrain I agree, A Little Life and Song of Achilles are amazing!! 6y

Lots of great progress this month... still a bunch of would‘ve, should‘ve, could‘ve‘s that I need to get on top of next month, I‘m about 1 book behind in a bunch of my ongoing groups, carrying over Mort #PratchettPosse, Lost Stars #StarWarsBuddyRead, and Mansfield Park #JaneAustenReadAlong, and I‘m still working on my #LMPBC selection.

Just keep swimming, swimming, reading, reading 🐠📚🐠📚😂

Lots of reading this week, in part because I can‘t stop checking out library books and two of them had no renewals. Luckily, I‘ve already had some great reads this month that kept me interested!

VeganCleopatra Any tips on being so consistent with this and not having it feel like it is slowing down your reading by having to set it every time? I adore tracking info but I also read in such short bursts a lot. 6y
dariazeoli @VeganCleopatra I read a lot on breaks and lunch at work, so I think the “start” and “end” of tracking those sessions benefits from that. It‘s become so ingrained in my routine that the taps it requires don‘t cut into reading time much at all anymore! 6y
VeganCleopatra Yeah I think what it comes down to is just getting the habit down and then it'll be no problem at all. I just know that I have a tendency to forget to turn the timer off, I've done it every readathon I've participated in. 🤦‍♀️ haha 6y
VeganCleopatra I've just been looking at the app a bit and it seems like it probably wouldn't work for audiobooks. Have you tried? 6y
dariazeoli @VeganCleopatra There‘s a work around where you make the book an ebook and change the measurement to percentages. That‘s what I use and it works well. 6y

Welp, as my readcation wraps up its last day, I‘m taking note:
1 partial book finished: reread of Magpie Murders for book club on Tuesday.
2 new books read: Leah on the Offbeat and Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk.
3 new books in progress: Giant Days (vol 5) and The Magnificent Esme Wells, and Emily Wilson‘s translation of Homer‘s The Odyssey.
Also 2 books purchased. I think I‘m slaying this reading thing. 😂🙌🏼❤️📚

So, here‘s how the first half of 2018 stacks up! My total hours include #audioreads; pages read does not. I set a goal of 100 books so now I‘m unofficially looking to beat last year‘s total instead!

Year to date:
#litsyclassics: 14/26
#mounttbr: 20/48
#1001books: 17
#192019challenge: 26
DNF: 3

I didn‘t get a ton of reading done this week; most of my sessions were of the audio kind. The Leio app apparently had some trouble with my stats.

There was an update to the Leio app which lets you set more goals. I‘m still getting used to having to find this statistics chart in a new place! End of month plus short workweek plus end of staycation has thrown me a bit, but I read an entire book yesterday to “catch up” with myself.

This feels like a failure month, but I‘m nearly finished with 2 other books (an audio book and the Famous Five I‘m reading to my son), so in actual fact it‘s not been too bad. PLUS, I managed to read some poetry. I have been sadly slacking on that front!

SleepyDragon If it's any consolation, your "failure month" is 2-4 books better than my best month so far ... ? 6y
DivaDiane @NeesyBeth Oh, don‘t feel bad! We all read at our own paces and have varying amounts of time to read. I‘m actually a very slow reader and 3 of those 6 books I did finish were very, very slim (a kids picture book and 2 poetry chapbooks)! I mostly feel like I failed my #MountTBR challenge by only reading 2 for that. All the rest were new. 😬 6y
SleepyDragon Oh, I don't feel bad. I was just trying to make you feel better. Lol One of my 4 was actually a short novella. Lol 6y

Even though I read a lot of books in May (a lot of good ones too!), most were from #netgalley. My June goal is to catch up on my Mount TBR challenge!

My last read in May was my 100th book read this year too!

I managed to finish quite a few books while on staycation this week. Audiobooks on double-speed probably make up half of my reading hours so far this year.

For those who are curious, these weekly snapshots are from the Leio reading app, available on IOS. I‘ve been using it for 6 or 7 months now and it‘s worth the $5 for the paid version!

I‘ve finished 81 books so far this year, and yet, #MountTBR continues to mock me!

Hoping to spend some of my staycation this week finishing my May TBR list. Yesterday was mostly listening to my first Oscar Wilde.
