Chapter 49 is Edward‘s redemption. Turns out he didn‘t run FAR, came back and secured his lady.

Lucy married Robert, sent a letter to Edward, and Edward was on his way to Elinor within hours. Edward is a bit of of a sop, but come on... that‘s a grand romantic gesture if I ever saw one. 😍

Mrs. Jennings decided Lucy is a hussy, the Colonel visits and he and Edward are fast friends, and Edward is off to see his mom. 😖

mollyrotondo I don‘t love Edward because he was going to do that whole “I don‘t love her anymore but I‘ve been with her this long that I guess I have to marry her” thing that I hate! I know ppl who have done this. You‘re young and not married so be honest and say you‘re feelings changed! Uhh! Girls want love and partnership not complacency and reservation! I mean he‘s better than Willoughby so fine. But Col Brandon is the real catch! 4y

Chapter 45 already! We are going to finish this book this week, my friends! ☺️

Mrs. Dashwood and the Colonel have arrived, Marianne continues to improve, and mom is trying her hand at revisionist history where Willoughby is concerned, but I‘m ok with that since she‘s now firmly #TeamBrandon. Elinor is still being Elinor and having her pangs for ‘poor Willoughby‘ but has decided not to wish Mrs. Willoughby dead. 😂

annahenke I love this Austen. 4y

sprainedbrain @annahenke I‘m loving it more this time around! ❤️ 4y
KristiAhlers This read this time around has been much more entertaining! 4y
sprainedbrain @Katbooklover it‘s making me think I should take my reading slower more often.. but I probably won‘t. 😂 4y
sprainedbrain @Katbooklover ALTHOUGH, I‘m definitely going to keep doing chapter a day with the other Austen‘s... I can‘t wait to see what else I get out of them this time! 4y
Andrea313 @sprainedbrain Same here! The chapter a day format has made me engage with the story in such a different way, and I imagine that'll hold true for the others. I'm excitedly looking forward to new discoveries in each book. 4y
Butterfinger It seems as if you just started. 4y
batsy "revisitionist history"... love it ? 4y
batsy Revisionist, that is 😂 4y
meghathecloud @Andrea313 @sprainedbrain Agreed. The chapter a day has motivated me to take my reading slow for the other books that I am reading too. And it has been a great experience taking things in and letting them simmer, so that new connections are formed. I am definitely be going to do chapter a day for the rest of the Austen books. 4y
i.besteph It was fun reading with y‘all! ♥️This is my first time ever reading S&S and I‘m finding it okay. It felt slow in the beginning but the drama picked up later on. Reading a #chapteraday has helped me understand the book better so I‘m definitely going to stick with that for our future reading schedule. 4y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @AnotherMissBennet so true! S & S has never been my favorite because Marianne with her love of dead leaves wears me out. I've enjoyed it so much more slowing down. 4y
Crinoline_Laphroaig I like the info in the Annotated but it's distracting while reading. Works better when I go back and read notes after reading the chapter. 4y
i.besteph @Crinoline_Laphroaig that‘s great to know! Yep Marianne slows the story a bit but so far so good, only a little patience is required XD (edited) 4y
LatrelWhite As a first time reader I have loved reading the chapter synopsis from you guys!!!🤣😂they are hilarious. Keep it come as we near the end. 4y

Gooo Colonel Brandon!! 🥳🙌🏽

Throughout the whole of Sense and Sensibility that I‘ve read so far there‘s no other character that I love as much as Colonel Brandon. Such a humble soul..a bit quiet and sidelined but you don‘t find anyone as giving as him besides Mrs. Jennings.

So here‘s a post in his honor

nanuska_153 The first and the second meme also kind of apply to Snape xD 4y
i.besteph @nanuska_153 Yes! Alan Rickman knew how to pick his characters well😍😢 (edited) 4y
