4⭐️ Really enjoyed the book, although having the annotations sometimes were a bit of an nuisance at times. While not my favourite Austen, it was still highly enjoyable. #2022 #fiction #reread #classics #readalong #bookreview #bookstagram #pemberlittens

This is the copy I am reading from; I have a physical copy of the book but forgot to bring it the other day #pemberlittens
1. Tagged
2. Looking forward to be healthy and cancer free this year
3. Read 75 books and getting my Churchill biography by Andrew Roberts completed and finish the #readingeurope2021 challenge as much as possible (I‘m not going to go beyond this year doing it)
#sundayfunday
Finished the audiobook! The 1995 movie version is one of my top favorite period films, and I love the story. It was an enjoyable read!
Finished the barrettes ! Much easier than earrings, other than working with Super glue! Going to keep the ones in the far bottom left for myself 💙 Going to sand and smooth them about and they will soon be ready to package ! I have loved this time of Audio-crafting- it‘s been good for my soul and much needed
Tested out the polymer clay as flat squares yesterday with leftover clay for barrettes & the effect was of beautiful simplicity! Today working with more colorful clay and shapes for barrettes whilst listening to Sense and Sensibility 📚☕️
Somehow I've only read this Austen once, even though I've watched the movie countless times. It was long past due for a revisit! I'm such a Marianne it's not even funny. #pemberlittens #teamsensibility

A chapter a day was perfect for stressful times. I still love this book. I‘m especially glad I read the annotated edition since it explained many things I had been curious about. Hooray for #pemberlittens and our mighty organizer @sprainedbrain
One last flannel waistcoat mention: "who still sought the constitutional safeguard of a flannel waistcoat!" ?
It's been a blast #Pemberlittens! Slowing down & reading gave me new appreciation for the story. I still don't see what Col B sees in Marianne but I'm glad he's happy. I'm definitely more Sense than Sensibility.
Thank You @sprainedbrain for all you've done!

"could chuse papers, project shrubberies, and invent a sweep."
In which @sprainedbrain I manage to learn one last thing.
As a Gardener I knew about shubberies. But I didn't know what 'invent a sweep' meant.
'A sweep was a curved carriage drive leading to a house.' ?

Reading a chapter a day has been extremely rewarding. I appreciate with each read how Austen thinks through the problem of How Should a Woman Be; the ideals of sense & sensibility as two contradictory forces that must be resolved through practice & thought & emotions if one is to get through life at all. The "marriage plot" is a useful device to probe deeper themes & the compromises that have to be made. A wise, illuminating novel. #pemberlittens
I love the movie adaptation to bits but this note in my annotated edition is quite right in explaining how Edward and Brandon were made attractive, charming, and worthy partners in the adaptation. With each reread I feel this book is mainly about the bittersweet compromises for women of Elinor and Marianne's position. #PemberLittens @sprainedbrain
For those #Pemberlittens wanting to know about Jane Austen nail polish. https://www.livelovepolish.com/collections/jane-austen I have Sense & Sensibility on my 💅 and Wisdom or Wit on👣. Both react to temperature which is fun. I garden so my fingernails are short. Would be more interesting on long nails. Both go on fairly light. I did a 3rd coat of color instead of topcoat. Also need to make sure they are well shaken. More thoughts 🔽
Finally making some progress in a print book! I‘m well behind my fellow #pemberlittens but that‘s just fine. I‘ve been enjoying their commentary here (and in slack), regardless.
Tilney is ensuring I have a reason to continue to sit and read 😸 #catsoflitsy
So much to understand in this Ch. Reading again w/ Annotations:
"Her legal allowance was not adequate to her fortune,*37..... the power of receiving it had been made over some months before to another person. He imagined, and calmly could he imagine it, that her extravagance, and consequent distress, had obliged her to dispose of it for some immediate relief*38."
Basically, Payday Lenders of Austen's day. ?
Outside to read my chapter a day with the #pemberlittens and had to take a picture of a beautiful moment. #grateful I get so caught up in life‘s chaos and suddenly found that enchantment just before twilight.
Took some me time to read through chapter 4 of this book. I‘m so glad I splurged on the annotated edition. #pemberlittens #s&schapteraday #comfortread
As someone who is barely reading and behind on obligations I still had to buy this annotated version of Sense and Sensibility for the upcoming read along #pemberlittens
My #stayhome24in48 was a bit of a bust after I forgot to turn my timer off when I went to bed on Saturday and then developed a stomach bug on Sunday. Now I'm trying to delicately eat crackers while I indulge in some dear Jane. #24in48 @24in48
When your current nighttime book begins to focus on a nighttime home invasion and murder of an entire family, it's best to turn to Jane for comfort instead.
So, these came in the mail today! 😍 #janeaustenbookpillows #janeissarilyAUSTENTATIOUS
#Characters2017 #Hufflepuff I think based on their loyalty, kindness, dedication, and fair play, all four characters in the pairings of Elinor Dashwood & Edward Ferrars of Sense and Sensibility and Jane Bennet & Charles Bingley of Pride & Prejudice would end up sorted into the Hufflepuff house. 📚💛
I read this after seeing it staged as a play. The play was my first encounter at all with Sense and Sensibility. Visualizing the actors helped ground me in the characters as I read. Also, having the annotations to explain social context made all the difference in understanding what was going on, which I otherwise would have bailed
