An exceedingly lovely read📖❤️
An amazing graphic memoir - beautifully drawn and powerfully written. It gets all the praise. Highly recommended!

The wisdom of dogs.🐕🐕🐕
What happens when the world disappears...and it's YOUR fault? Perennial slacker Tom knows the feeling. A consistent underachiever, he finds himself part of a team of the world's first time travelers. But when a bad decision changes the future, he finds himself in a new 2016 - ours. Told in a fast paced, often laugh out loud (and thought provoking) first person, this is a sci-fi book that's accessible to even the most novice sci-fi reader like me😉
"Passive aggressive literary exasperation" is my new favorite thing.
"...look, while you realize there's no, like, prize for not irrevocably warping the basic through line of human history, under the circumstances a simple thank you wouldn't be an unreasonable thing to expect." ???
This book is a positively gorgeous listen.🎧📚📱 Sleep is overrated.😉🎸😎
Gorgeously written and wholly unnerving and I'm only halfway through. Trying not to rush through it because the audiobook is just that phenomenal.
"Is this what love does to you? Makes you feel accountable for things you can't control?"
Audiobook has been a superb cooking companion this weekend! About halfway done???
When your next read comes in just in time for the weekend😎😎😎
Dark, twisty, and deceptive to the end. If you're a fan of Megan Abbott, you won't be disappointed with her latest. The audiobook was especially well narrated - I ended up 5 minutes late for work the first day I checked it out because I couldn't put it down! 🎧📖👍
My #FunFridayPhoto pick is Red Rising by Pierce Brown - action packed, interesting characters, and some ancient Roman history to boot. The audiobook narration was pretty fantastic too. Loved all three books in the series!
That time there was a Little Free Library in Sex Criminals.😂😂😂
But which book best suits my current state of procrastination? PS also have The Guineveres on Kindle. Decisions are hard.🤔📚
And just like that, I remembered why I love poetry so much.💜💚💙
For Lola, the most helpful thing she can do while I'm gardening is to lay right where my plants are going.😬🐶 #sorrynotsorry
I don't think I can handle my Hogwarts house selection.
🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I have to say, my nine year old self would be pretty psyched about my patronus.🐬
I have to say, it's not a bad place to read.🔥🔥🔥
There is nothing better than finding out the book you've been eagerly anticipating is on hold for you just in time for weekend reading! #Libraries for the win today!😀😀😀
#FunFridayPhoto my first "adult" read was Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. I LOVED the movie and read the book in 5th grade, which my mom was totally on board for (though I probably didn't understand half of the science TBH). My little brother decided to read it too, which really irked his 3rd grade teacher, who thought it "wasn't fair to the other kids." My mom told her to stuff it. So basically I was a bad influence and my mom was a badass.?
All kinds of heart eyes for Faith😍 Fun and funny and full of pop culture goodness. I love how relatable and normal her character is - geeky and caring and BADASS all at the same time. And can I tell you how refreshing it is to read a story about a plus size lady where her size is just not a thing? Loved it! A quick and thoroughly enjoyable read!💁🌆❤️
On page one and this book already speaks to me. #24in48 #readathon
How I feel getting through hour 12 of my #24in48 #readathon.
When a teen girl is hospitalized after a strange and violent seizure, a small town finds itself in the grips of hysteria - was it drugs? An allergic reaction? A deadly contagion? Or something worse? Dark and compelling, this story hooks you right away - it's the kind of book that you can't put down until the mystery is solved. #24in48 #readathon
First read of the day got me through hour three of my #24in48 #readathon! Funny, honest, and filled with more than one deeply recognizable post college dilemma (like remaining cheerful during your 6th bridal shower...for the same bride). A breezy and enjoyable summer read - particularly on audio!💍🍷👰🍸👗👯
I forced myself to go to bed with 75 pages left. As such, I'll probably be late to work trying to finish it this morning.😬😬😬
Definitely questionable judgement starting this book at 10pm as getting any sleep tonight now seems unlikely. Also my dog keeps staring at me wondering why I'm laughing so much. I regret nothing.
It's here!!😀😀😀
Dark and twisty and thought provoking. When it comes to graphic novels, it's a classic for a reason.
Sunday calls for a little gardening with my audiobook🌷📖🌼
So the weather may not have cooperated, but I'll take an overcast beach front reading spot any day.🌊
A beautiful morning to read on the patio. Side note: this book is amazing.
A truly extraordinary memoir, made even more compelling by the crisply drawn, beautiful artwork. Book One follows Lewis' childhood in rural Alabama and his involvement in the early days of the Civil Rights Movement. I couldn't put it down. This book gets all the stars. Can't wait to start Book Two!
So my audiobook hold for Homegoing came in yesterday...I guess I'll just have to read it again. BTW - the narration is amazing.
Phenomenal. This book was every emotion. A sweeping story of seven generations across two continents, connected by two half sisters born in 18th century Ghana, whose lives diverge at a single moment in history. A heartbreaking, important, and beautifully written book.
Really enjoyed the last book in this series - though, it's been a while since I read Infinite Sea, so I needed a bit of a refresher. Still, I finished this book in record time. Fast paced, with a lot of twists and turns. The ending was not at all what I expected - in a good way! An excellent series!
It's the perfect time of year to re-read a favorite.❤️
If you ever thought to yourself "You know what Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was missing? Video games." - then this book is meant for you. A fast paced, action packed virtual adventure with all the 80's references you could want. Bonus: the audiobook is excellently narrated by Wil Wheaton???
That feeling when you have to be productive, but it's rainy and breezy and all you want to do is read.⛈⛈
When you find the perfect reading spot.❤️
(Adirondack chairs and wine may have also been involved)
Lovely interwoven vignettes, following the lives two centuries of residents of the same small farmhouse on the outer edge of Cape Cod. Hoffman's prose is as lyrical as ever, with hints of magic underlying the everyday.
THIS SERIES THOUGH. Amazing. The artwork is gorgeous and the story is all over the place in the best way. Lots of twists, some new deities for the pantheon, and a cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers. I need volume 3 immediately.
This book was fantastic. Loosely based on the horrific Manson murders, this book isn't just about a girl falling into a cult - it's about growing up, and the intricate, intense, and often consuming power of female friendships. Wonderfully written, with a strong sense of time and place.
Excellently reported and thoroughly researched. This book is a difficult and important read - the author's stark representation of assault and rape in the college environment is emotional and honest. The audiobook was excellently narrated.
An interesting take on a classic! True to the original story, but also diverged in some unexpected ways (which was a good thing!). I listened to the audiobook and thought the narration was excellent - definitely helped me better envision the characters. A fun and funny read😂😍😏
