What happens when the world disappears...and it's YOUR fault? Perennial slacker Tom knows the feeling. A consistent underachiever, he finds himself part of a team of the world's first time travelers. But when a bad decision changes the future, he finds himself in a new 2016 - ours. Told in a fast paced, often laugh out loud (and thought provoking) first person, this is a sci-fi book that's accessible to even the most novice sci-fi reader like me😉

Gorgeously written and wholly unnerving and I'm only halfway through. Trying not to rush through it because the audiobook is just that phenomenal.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I loved the book, and I beat she does a wonderful narration! 7y
hwheaties I've taught Handmaid's Tale before, and I wonder what it would be like to listen to it and force myself NOT to analyze as much... 7y

AccessorizedLibrarian @hwheaties definitely give it a try - though I imagine it might be hard to do! Claire Danes is a phenomenal narrator. Very deliberate and measured, but with a lot of emotion right under the surface. It's been a great listen so far! 7y

Dark, twisty, and deceptive to the end. If you're a fan of Megan Abbott, you won't be disappointed with her latest. The audiobook was especially well narrated - I ended up 5 minutes late for work the first day I checked it out because I couldn't put it down! 🎧📖👍

Chessa So curious if Vol. 4 of Wic+Div is better than Vol. 3...I loved 1 & 2, but 3 was not my fave. 😐 8y
Susannah @Chessa I totally agree about Volume 3 of WicDiv. I've read that the Volume 4 issues are all by the original artist, and that's a definite plus for me. The art is what I love best about this series. 🎨📚🙂 8y
AccessorizedLibrarian Totally agree @Chessa @Susannah! The art was what got me hooked in the first place! I ended up going with that, and I definitely liked it better than vol. 3 - I felt like the storyline flowed a lot better this time around. And the art was gorgeous as usual!😃🎨 8y

#FunFridayPhoto my first "adult" read was Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton. I LOVED the movie and read the book in 5th grade, which my mom was totally on board for (though I probably didn't understand half of the science TBH). My little brother decided to read it too, which really irked his 3rd grade teacher, who thought it "wasn't fair to the other kids." My mom told her to stuff it. So basically I was a bad influence and my mom was a badass.?

When a teen girl is hospitalized after a strange and violent seizure, a small town finds itself in the grips of hysteria - was it drugs? An allergic reaction? A deadly contagion? Or something worse? Dark and compelling, this story hooks you right away - it's the kind of book that you can't put down until the mystery is solved. #24in48 #readathon

Really enjoyed the last book in this series - though, it's been a while since I read Infinite Sea, so I needed a bit of a refresher. Still, I finished this book in record time. Fast paced, with a lot of twists and turns. The ending was not at all what I expected - in a good way! An excellent series!

This book was fantastic. Loosely based on the horrific Manson murders, this book isn't just about a girl falling into a cult - it's about growing up, and the intricate, intense, and often consuming power of female friendships. Wonderfully written, with a strong sense of time and place.

Excellently reported and thoroughly researched. This book is a difficult and important read - the author's stark representation of assault and rape in the college environment is emotional and honest. The audiobook was excellently narrated.
