Poems under the Jacaranda Tree
Poems under the Jacaranda Tree | John Ryan
5 posts | 1 read
Sixth in the series, "this book is by no means the last" John says." As long as the fascination with words stays with me, I shall continue my dedication to improving my verbal self-worth. The Muse has been kind to me, in spite of my bipolar state (due to being raped in the workplace some years ago). Writing has been so very therapeutic since that awful day. Such is my dedication that I work through the night most nights. I greet the dawn in my small study and long for the day when Writer's Block is no longer a problem. I first discovered the delightful Jacaranda Tree in Pretoria, South Africa, and want to thank Malgorzata Budzinski for conveying her love of this specific delight.

#SplashIntoSummerReads #day18 #UnderATree This is my beautiful jacaranda tree in my backyard when it was in flower last spring/summer. I love sitting under it on those warm, breezy autumn days or spring days when it's not too hot or too chilly. I love this tree, my hubby keeps threatening to chop it down because it makes a mess, but I'd chain myself to it before I'd let that happen!

scripturient 😍 7y
AlaMich Those purple flowers are gorgeous!! 7y
MrsMalaprop I love Jacarandas. I can only dream of having one like this in my backyard. ❤️❤️❤️ 7y

Lizpixie @scripturient @AlaMich @MrsMalaprop she's my pride and joy. I've been here 25yrs & she was already at least 20yrs old when I moved in. I have fairy lights wrapped around her that come on at night and there's a swing hanging from a branch that the grandbabies love.🌳 7y
scripturient @Lizpixie Sounds heavenly. Please post a picture with the fairy lights on some time. 😍 7y
Hooked_on_books I saw some of these in April in Hawaii. They're gorgeous! 😍 I'm with you--I'd totally chain myself to it. It's worth the mess! 7y

We went to Sanibel Island today and found a quirky vegan restaurant (delicious) and an incredible indie bookstore (swoon-inducing & wallet-draining), but on the way we passed The Jacaranda! I couldn't resist a photo op for you, Jenny. #jacaranda

My husband wanted to show off our fancy loaner Model X with its falcon wing doors. 😏 400 miles and zero emissions, woohoo! #Tesla

JanuarieTimewalker13 That car....makes me swoon!! Tesla❤️ 8y

LauraBrook This post is full of awesome!!! My mom's family used to drive down from Wisconsin and spend a month at a small hotel on Sanibel. My basement shelves are FILLED with shells from there. Plus, the hotel is still open (under a different name), it's the only indie hotel left. Hope you two have a fantastic day! 8y
shawnmooney Your day sounds fantaastic except for the absence of meat at the restaurant! ❤️❤️💜💜 8y
saresmoore @LauraBrook That is so cool! I had never been to Sanibel, which is crazy. But it's possibly my new favorite place! We loved it and will definitely be back in the off-season with our kiddos. 8y
saresmoore @shawnmooney Don't worry, we'll eat plenty of meat for the rest of our weekend to keep things in balance. 8y
saresmoore @JanuarieTimewalker13 It is just an incredible car. It drives itself, for Pete's sake! It's really fun road tripping in it—so much more peaceful (and quiet, because no engine). 8y
saresmoore @ocdIrene @BarbaraTheBibliophage @Yournewfriendsams @Booksandcooks @Suet624 @LeahBergen @Cinfhen @Moray_Reads It was a wonderful day! I'd forgotten how much fun kid-free adventures could be. I'm really grateful and feeling all filled up! ♥️♥️ 8y
Hobbinol I ❤️ this photo ❗️ 8y
LauraBeth Sounds wonderful 😀 And I'm sure when you raise your arms like a car door, you're capable of spreading wings and flying - unlike the Tesla 8y
Ericmanciniwriter That is the most badass car a bookworm could ever drive 8y
saresmoore @Eamann Truth. It's going to be brutal to get back behind the wheel of my gas guzzler. The car's OS has all these nerdy Easter eggs, including "ludicrous speed" (a Spaceballs reference), which really is ludicrous. ? But, interestingly, Elon Musk is a bookworm, too. That's how he survived his childhood and fed his genius! 8y

#somethingforsept #septemberphotochallenge #day23 #readingoutside My favourite spot to read outside is under my flowering jacaranda tree in my backyard, especially in oct/nov when it feels like it rains purple. The hubby carries out my rocker recliner, sets up a table for my drinks and I sit, read & listen to music while he cooks a BBQ & most times my grandkids run around me. Throw in a gorgeous sunset & birds singing & it's my perfect day.🌳🌸🐝

LauraBeth That sounds and looks lovely 😀 8y

Hooked_on_books Wow, that sounds wonderful! I'd love to experience the purple tree rain. 8y
Lizpixie @LauraBeth @RealLifeReading @megt @Varshitha @erzascarletbookgasm @Hooked_on_books Thanks👍☺️ you should do a google search for the Grafton Jacaranda Festival. It's s small town in the north east if my state and in oct/nov the whole place turns purple. It's amazing, all the streets are lined with hundred year old jacarandas, they're in gardens & parks everywhere. It's a blizzard of purple, it's like it snowed flowers.💜🌸💜 8y
