I attended a NatGeo Live talk by underwater archeologist Lisa Briggs where she talked about a couple of the #Pirate shipwrecks she worked on! She was very enthusiastic for her work and knowledgeable about the subject matter! 🏴☠️

pickA fun “Halloween”-time vampire 🧛♀️ and vampire slayer story! Hazelwood did a good job developing their romantic relationship over the character‘s 1000 year lifespan - believable and touching! The length, less than three hours, was perfect for listening in the car while I drove across state.

Started this #audiobook today! Getting my Stormlight Archive listening on! This 2.5 book is only 6.5 hours long - much more manageable than the chunkster novels of the series!

I‘m in love all ready! Swarthy “Spanish-ish” pirate 🏴☠️ who may have inherited a title. A “glamoured” lady who is trying to adhere to the Ton‘s rules, while resisting the urge to use her witchy 🧙♀️ magic. Sparks are flying already and they‘re each drawn towards the other. How will they defeat the watery “beastie with squirmers?!” 🦑
Miss Scarlet will be back in January 2026 on PBS Masterpiece!!!

pickThis book had very little swashbuckling, but the hero was a pirate of sorts - more like a privateer and one close to retirement!
The book revolved more around a murder case and sleuthing for the Crown, than the heroine and hero getting to know one another and form their love bond.
Regardless, it was love at first sight and the moonstones glowed for them as their love continued to be pure and lasting! 💝

pickFinished the first part of the duology.
A bit predictable at times. Everything seemingly turned out well for Iris and Roman. And they weren‘t really rivals, per se, they both secretly liked each other before their true feelings were revealed.
I don‘t feel compelled to continue right away, but it would be nice to see how the story concludes. I think book two will be more dire and imminent with consequences for actions.

This was such a sweet romance of letting go and moving on from the past. And a good reminder for all of us to ask questions and not assume anything, it helps define relationships and creates boundaries.

Such a cute premise; can‘t wait to see how Mac and Liv end up together!

pickA fun read! There weren‘t as many choices as I would have liked, some of the section ended with no choice and lead to a flip the page and to another section. A bit silly at times with the action, it was more melodramatic! First time to read a choose your own romance story!
