Okay, my list hasn't really changed much over the last month, but I am making some progress. I replaced one title that I'm just not going to get to anytime soon. Here's hoping I get more read in February!

This was just downright ADORABLE. It's also hard to explain, because I'm not exactly sure what the creatures are. It definitely gave me Jeff Smith “Bone“ vibes, though, if that helps at all. So. Lovely.

This was so much fun. I'm always intrigued by what it's like to work with books from perspectives other than mine (as a public librarian), and this was so flippin' charming. I'm not being condescending, it was simply lovely. Highly recommend.

Wow, this was unexpectedly wonderful. I mean, there were issues (mostly dialogue that occasionally made me roll my eyes), but overall I really liked this. And look at that cover! Or don't, the library mylar makes it hard to see 🤣🙄. Reminded me a little of Holly Black. Definitely recommended if you enjoy stories with fairies!

Thanks for getting the conversation going, @RowReads1 !

My answers:
1. I'm good with any of them. Um, what's the difference between a cup and a mug?
2. Purple, Blue, Green
3. I have 2 cats, Noms and Huxley.
4. I'm not partial to any brand, though I must say I dislike Starbucks coffee. Though that may have more to do with how they brew it. I do like whole beans better :-)

Finished another book today. I really adore Ali Hazelwood. This is a collection of 3 stories that started as e-novellas. All involved women in STEM, which I really love. The sex is spicy and the dudes are hot, smart, sensitive, and funny. Sigh...I love her characters.

Finished this for #AuthoraMonth. I couldn't decide on which of her fiction to start with, so I figured I'd start with this instead. I had never heard of it, and I really enjoy nonfiction. This was beautiful, and really made me miss my mom! Er...she lives in a different state, is all. Anyway, very much enjoyed this quick memoir. It also has a #leaf and #someonesback on the cover for #ISpyBingo.

Had to #dnf my January #BookSpin. I think this was mostly a case of not the right book for me. I simply had no interest in reading/finishing it. And since it was one of my #botm choices from 2018 I figure it's time to unshelve it.

I was VERY surprised by how much I liked this. I'm super skeptical of celebrities telling us how to live our lives or how to be happier, but since this is based on actual brain science (and co-written by a doctor) I was intrigued. It gave me a ton of perspective on some difficult relationships in my life. I highly recommend this. Oprah and Dr. Perry both read the book, too, which made it even better, imo.

This one was odd. I really wanted to like it, as I've been on a major true crime kick for quite a while. However, this didn't quite cut it. I think I fell victim to weird marketing. The title makes this seem like this is mostly about a serial killer, with a little bit of Eliot Ness. Turns out this more like a biography of Ness with a dash of true crime. Not bad if you are intrigued by Ness, but it wasn't my cup of tea.

Whoa. That was...intense. And if I hadn't already had a serious disdain for football, I sure as hell would now. The author was also sexually abused... No, RAPED. She was raped by her stepfather for several years when she was a child, so be aware of that when you read this. She doesn't go into detail, but she does describe the mental scars.

Heartbreaking. Gut-wrenching. Excellent and disturbing read.
