There is not enough love that I can give for this book.

This book is for everyone. The author tells about her life and thing that have happened to her in ways that people that have experienced it can. Those of us that have some sort of privilege can only imagine, and then those things we try to imagine fall short.

I am so happy and fortunate that Amani Al-Khatahtbeh wrote this book, and also that the library here in Lexington chose to buy it

This is what I am reading today. Picked this up at the Library. This coffee table book tells of the Japanese incarceration during World War 2, mostly through pictures that have been thoroughly researched. The photography was done by Dorothea Lange, Ansel Adams, Clem Albers and others. Just starting this but very interesting so far.

Starting off my #dystopian challenge with a classic. It's been a long time since I have read this.

I keep finding things to challenge myself with. With the outcome of the election and everything else that has been happening I have challenged myself to read as many #dystopian books as possible before the end of the year or until Agent 🍊 tries to ban 📚. This is a great book, I just hope it is not foreshadowing what is going to happen now that Agent 🍊 is President.

Library book haul tonight. Biography on one of my favorite artists, the great George Harrison. True crime book on one of my favorite film noir movies, Double Indemnity. (Film has Barbara Stanwick, Edward G. Robinson, and Fred McMurray) The Children of Men is one of the 12 distopian society books that I am trying to read this year.

Time for a change.

This was a long read but very interesting and not all sugarcoated to play him in a favorable light. Recommend for anyone that loves Apple products and interesting people.

This is the first time that I have tracked my books read. I know I did better than some and not as well as others, but that's okay because we all go at our own pace. Okay my fellow litsians, I'm having trouble deciding what my next audiobook should be. Should I choose 1984 or The Handmaid's Tale? They are both on kindle unlimited with free narration.

Please help me decide.

This was an insightful book on a person that was long forgotten about. It kinda made me mad about what kind of things that she had to go through in her life.

This book was super intense from the get go. I didn't want to put it down, so I didn't. While I highly highly recommend this book it does contain things in it that are triggering for a number of people.

TW: mental abuse, rape, physical abuse

I'm only 26 pages in and this is already a super intense book. It's told through an interesting perspective. ( This book has the possibility of being very triggery for some people 🙁)

Thought I would read this and see if this person is America's most dangerous huckster. Or see if it is someone different, say a certain someone with orange hair.

Very touching and emotional book, I really enjoyed it.

This was a very interesting book highlighting the early career of Dr. Michael Gottlieb.

While having its sciency moments, it read more like a novel and didn't bog me down with a lot of unnecessary facts. Would highly recommend this to everyone.

The science behind this book is very interesting. With this being said in my opinion I thought that the author spent a little too much time on the family. Not that they don't deserve mention, but it was as if the author had to reach a certain word count.

The dedication to this book says it all 💕💕

Part memoir, part oral history of stripping and burlesque. Was an interesting read, some parts were a little drawn out, but overall pretty good.

3.5 - 4 ⭐️. I was torn between the pick and the so-so, but obviously leaned on the pick.

If you are looking for a book that shows the seedy side of stripping, this isn't it. This is her own story with her own personal struggles thrown in along with the oral history.

Since I couldn't do the #24in48 with the rest of you due to working both days, I did one on my own. Not a bad time considering I worked 8 hours today. Next time I hope to be able to request the time off to do it with my fellow litsyians. #readjanuary

Very interesting read(well listen). The Author makes some very good points. Not sure if I agree 100% but very good points and interesting points. Everyone should probably take a look at this book

Trying this on audiobook from the library, heard nothing but good things about it.

Bought the book, but listened to this on kindle unlimited as read by the author. It was very gut wrenching hearing the author voice the struggles that she went through.

This is a great book about addiction, what it can do to you and those you love, and the long hard path back from it. This is a good read not just for sports fans but for everyone.

Laying here listening to this about half way done.

This book deals with a lot of strong feeling about the South, Race, and equality. It was written in 1998 and I can still see the images that are portrayed in this book alive today, sad to say. Some of this book sickened my stomach through no fault of the author. By the end of it, I had to push through it, but still highly recommend this book.

Bookcase is non-fiction and historical fiction. Floor is fiction and YA fiction. I might have a slight problem will being able to read them all 😂😂😂. I guess there are worse problems in the 🌎.

Finally found this book, along with some more political books that I had to tell a certain someone not to judge me😂😂😂
