It's not often you'll see me recommend a romance novel, but I really enjoyed this one.

A great feminist utopian short story set in India. I found this gem on #SerialReader

For reading some of the early “feminist” stories from women of European heritage, I found this short story written in 1905 by a Muslim woman reversing the gender roles very interesting.

* Recommended if you enjoyed Angel Island by Inez Haynes Irwin or Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

Bookwomble It's also collected in the tagged book, an anthology of Victorian/Edwardian sci-fi stories by women authors. I'd recommended it and it's companion volumes, The Darker Sex (horror/macabre), and Sisters in Crime (detective). 2mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Bookwomble That sounds excellent! I‘ll definitely look for it! 2mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I bet @BarbaraTheBibliophage would be interested in that book to. 2mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Bookwomble I‘m definitely interesting in finding more from other POV‘s. This one and Woman at Point Zero are two that I‘ve stumbled across so far. Both polar opposites too, but great women fiction. 2mo

I just didn't enjoy it at all and I can't really put my finger on why. Not memorable.

Megabooks @Cinfhen There‘s a personal element to my love of this book, but there is something she captures here that is raw and enduring. Ripped me to shreds. I‘ll be thinking about this for awhile. 3mo

Love, love, love. It‘s taking everything in me not to run to Barnes & Noble to buy the next book (I want to support my local bookstore, which is closed.) Patience is a virtue. While I was slightly confused with all of the different names to start, I just couldn‘t put it down! Please note, there‘s a glossary in the back. I loved the magic, the characters& the intense, multiple story lines . #booked2019 #muslimauthor #newyearwhodis

Brandon_Lee_Hayes Check your local library to see if they have it! I love buying books and supporting authors but there's nothing wrong with checking out the library! 4mo
Sresendez12 @Brandon_Lee_Hayes yes I love the library! They actually have an e-book available but their server is down and you can‘t download anything. Hopefully this evening! 4mo

Continuing with the #24in48 readathon this morning. My time is nothing to brag about but I‘m happy to have finished this book. Absolutely loved it! Often the second book in a series never lives up to the first but with A Torch Against the Night, the author has written another wonderfully crafted, intriguing, intelligent and hugely entertaining instalment to the story of Laia, Elias and Helene. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #muslimauthor #Booked2019 #Booked2019summer

IvoryLunatic I haven‘t made it much further either. I‘ll be happy if I make 12 hours but it‘s still fun to make reading a priority even if life gets in the way. :) 5mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage Nice review! And great job on checking off another prompt! 5mo
