When your book matches your new plant! 💚

This is the 2nd book in a series and it was just as great. It‘s a cozy historical mystery. But the romance building is so slow! I love it and just want it to go faster!

This was just released in February so who knows how much longer I‘ll have to wait for the next one.

Ugh. I could not stand the main MC in this book and unfortunately it‘s all told from her point of view. I did like Dax a bit but Gemma was so selfish and frustrating. It‘s too bad because I really love magical realism and love stories.

wanderinglynn I totally agree with you! Gemma was obnoxiously self-centered and oblivious. But I loved Dax, although I couldn‘t understand his motivation for standing by & watching her with Stewart. 2d
Laughterhp @wanderinglynn Agreed! He also would do a bunch of stuff he didn‘t enjoy, like drink a pitcher of a specific beer every week. Like why?! 2d

I‘m not sure if I‘ve read a romantic suspense novel before. I really enjoyed this spy story. Dove gets roped into some spy CIA missions when she gets mistaken for her sister. She meets Mendez and has to work closely with him to prove her sister‘s innocence.

This was actually pretty good!

I LOVED this book. Yes, it is slow, but that‘s kinda what I loved about it. Mysteries and thrillers have made me too anxious within the last year or so, but this one I wasn‘t. I love Tana French and I really love this world she created.

This is the 2nd book in the series. It says you can read it on its own, but there are some references to the past 2 years when the 1st book is set.

This was so good! I was so lucky to get a library audio loan! It was a skip the line loan. I think I listened to this in 1 or 2 days.

I‘ve been waiting for this one to be released for a while, so glad I quickly got to pick it up. Loved it.

Set between 2 different time periods. 1 is through journal entries.

lil1inblue The title pulled me in, and then you said 2 different time periods. Stacked. 😏 4d
SarahBookInterrupted Put it on hold at my library and it‘s a 22 week wait. Hopefully I also get a skip the line 🤞 4d

I really loved this book! Babies freak me out and I‘ve never been pregnant or had a desire to, so I was worried I wouldn‘t enjoy this book. It‘s a lot of hippy birthing classes and the such. It‘s set in the Cotswolds though, so I took it as research for my trip in the fall.

This is a debut, so I definitely plan to read more from this author.

I‘m not sure why I picked this one up. It wasn‘t on my TBR.. I must have just come across it scrolling on Libby.

This is a cowboy/western romance. It‘s set on a ranch in Wyoming. Emmy is a professional horse rider and has a riding scare so she comes back home. Luke is her brother‘s best friend and she‘s looking at him a bit differently now. She has ADHD and it talks about her triggers and things like that.

I‘m not sure this series is getting better. The books are kind of just eh. This one is a low pick.

Jenna and Titus go on a house call of a suspicious person about. They smell gas so they go into the house where a bomb goes off. In the bomb is a love and binding spell. So they fall in love and can‘t be more than 30 meters from each other. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This one was okay. Nothing spectacular. Just a second chance romance in a small town. I don‘t like how when someone is trying to be sober, they are forcing her and constantly questioning her decision to no longer drink. Just let her be. You can have fun without alcohol and drugs.

Can books stop having super long titles? It‘s exhausting writing them out.

This book was not at all what I thought it was going to be. Don‘t compare to Gilmore girls and then be super depressing. Though, I guess it might slightly be on me for not reading the synopsis that closely. I‘m not sure if the author plans to write more but the way it ended, there could be.

CatLass007 I have the crazy idea that Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life was depressing. I liked the ending of the original series in which Rory gets a real journalism job and follows Barack Obama‘s campaign on the press bus. Very positive, very hopeful. I did like the way the mini-series paid tribute to the late Edward Hermann. Emily‘s grief was palpable and her decision to move was handled with sensitivity. And some of the old Gilmore Girls humor. 3w
Laughterhp @CatLass007 I guess that‘s true. But when I think of Gilmore girls, I don‘t automatically think of the year in the life because I‘ve only watched them once. Whereas, I‘ve watched the rest a million times. 3w
CatLass007 Once for Year in the Life was more than enough. I miss Lorelei and Rory, Richard and Emily, and the entire town of Star‘s Hollow. The series was a joy! 3w

Picked this one up because it was the March pick for #swordandlaserpodcast - I‘m not sure if audio was the best way to read this. I kept confusing who everyone was. There was also a lot of death and killing. It is a war book. Also, is it a love triangle if all 3 want to be together?

Awk_Word_Smith I loved this book so much. Can‘t wait for the next one but since the author is pro-not-killing-everyone-in-the-Middle-East the publisher is holding the release. #politics (edited) 3w
5feet.of.fury @Awk_Word_Smith is that what happened?! Ugh, I thought the release date was soon and I saw today it‘s December. I know Xiran Jay Zhao was speaking out about the snubs for Chinese books at the Hugo‘s, but I missed that. 3w
Awk_Word_Smith @5feet.of.fury They was also speaking out on the Gaza War as well. Their publisher didn‘t seem to like that and pushed the book back. SMH 🤦‍♂️ (edited) 3w
5feet.of.fury @Awk_Word_Smith ugh. Very disappointed in the publisher then …it should have been no surprise that the author is political. I‘m gonna have to stalk their socials later for the tea 3w
