Weirdly Nancy Drew has been picked 2 months in a row!

Weirdly Nancy Drew has been picked 2 months in a row!
My hubby was in Knoxville for work last week and he popped into a bookstore for me. He brought these 2 home for me.
The tagged title is so long, he asked the bookseller if it was 2 books when they were looking for it. 😆😆
I enjoyed this adventure romance. Andee finds out her dad is an international arms dealer wanted by the CIA. Before she can help the CIA, she gets kidnapped. She brings along Chan saying he‘s her boyfriend. So you have the fake dating prompt and danger. I really liked this one!
Read 13 books in February. A lot of just okay romances. The tagged was my favorite read of February and I never would have picked it up or heard of it without #auldlangspine
#readingbracket2025
I originally read this book in 2019. It was and still is the only book I‘ve read by Robin Hobb. Because I read this so long ago, I didn‘t remember a thing about it! So it was like reading a new book to me. I enjoyed it just as much this time as I did last time, but this time I plan to actually continue the series.
#realmofElderlings
Finished in February. Behind already on the Agatha Christie reread. I tried to go into this one thinking good thoughts about Hastings but I just can‘t stand him. He thinks he‘s so clever and he‘s really not.
This was my February #authoramonth read. It‘s been a while since I‘ve read a comic/graphic novel.
It took me way too long to finish this and it‘s not the book‘s fault! I‘ve been struggling to find times to listen to audio this year. It took me a month to finish an 18 hour audiobook! This is shocking to me because I really loved this book.
Thanks so much for putting it on your list @rachelsbrittain ! #auldlangspine
Slowly catching up on #nancydrew
Book 14 has Nancy and friends solving multiple mysteries. As always it was a bit outlandish, but wasn‘t too bad. She has to disguise herself and work in a shop to solve a mystery. She also does a lot of boating but also people keep attacking her while she‘s boating… She‘s also trying to find a statue and see if it‘s whispering or not.
I loved this! Sawyer and Mason meet/get stuck in an elevator together. They have a one night stand thinking they‘ll never see each other again. Then they run into each other and make a pact to ruin romance and not sleep together again. I‘m sure I don‘t need to tell you what happens…
I really liked this one and the characters. You also get both their POVs. She‘s also bisexual.
Highly recommend. #aardvarkbookclub
Archeologist Miriam, missed her bus to get to her hotel for the dig, so she catches a ride with a stranger. They‘re both attracted to each other, are staying at the same hotel and plan to meet up for drinks. Rafael is there to mess up the dig and make sure they can‘t reach the city of moon.
They say this is an enemy to lovers. It is not. They are enemies in the sense they have different goals, but they never once hate each other.
#RiseUpReads
I‘ve owned this book since it came out, but finally picked it up. It‘s a romance, fake dating, going on vacation with his family and one bed.
Amerie needed to save face and tells her ex that she‘s dating an astronaut. It‘s Houston TX, so there are astronauts around. Vincent‘s sister overhears and now they have to be a couple around his family.
I really liked this one. I‘ll read more of this author!
Hey Litsy friends! I‘m still around but this year and work has been so stressful. I either don‘t have the energy to read or I can only handle romances.
This is the 2nd in the series (didn‘t read the 1st). It‘s about football players who own a cupcake shop in San Diego and Sloane is a social media manager. She‘s looking for a new job and doing the shops campaign. A second chance and best friend‘s sister romance.
This book is not in the system for some reason. It‘s book 14 in the nocturne falls series. I‘ve been needing to read lighter easy reads lately.
Sunday comes to town to learn about her magic. She is Alice‘s niece so you see a lot more of her. Ren is in town hiding after a job he did. They obviously fall in love.
I was able to finish one more #auldlangspine book in January! This was really good. I like the way the story was told and it was pretty short.
Constanza was turned into a vampire and she‘s telling us her story and journey through the years.
Meh. Didn‘t really care for this one. Too YA for me. So much drama because of misunderstandings. Fantasy/Magic was interesting, but not enough for me to probably continue with this series.
This is a slow burn Romantasy. Vassa‘s parents are both dead and her brother sends her off to get married. She runs away on her wedding night to another city and joined a school to learn more about her magic. Until Reid comes and gets her and makes a deal. Vaasa has to help him for 3 years to become the leader and then she‘s free.
This is the first in a series, so it ends in a bit of a cliffhanger.
#aardvark
I like this author but this wasn‘t my favorite book of hers. It‘s a world of magic and they use their magic to steal stuff and complete heists. When Danielle was a teenager, she turned her mother into the FBI and ran away. She‘s been doing odd jobs helping people and earning money. Now she‘s called back to her home to do 1 last heist. She has to get her crew together to pull it off.
8 years of Litsy!! That‘s wild!
Happy #litsyversary to my current #auldlangspine match too! @rachelsbrittain 🎉🎉

I‘ve got my audio (The Frame Up)
Print book (tagged book)
Ebook (Vampires Sunny Sweetheart)
#weekendreads
I liked the premise of this book but could not stand either MC. Jae was extremely unprofessional and didn‘t do a whole lot in the book to redeem himself. Nami did not act like a 30 year old business owner. I did not enjoy their competitiveness or banter. I liked the overall story and world but… what do you do when you hate the people you‘re supposed to be rooting for?!
This is the second book in this series. It follows Lizzie who entered the world to get back her family heirlooms. However, she finds something or someone else worth living for.
I liked this one and the romance is good. I like all the different type of mythical/fantasy creatures throughout too.

Help! Goodreads is totally messing up my books read count!
If I read a book on my kindle, it‘s counting the book twice! I don‘t have the setting turned on where it automatically updates my goodreads when I start and finish a kindle book.
It‘s only doing this on the challenge side when I finish a kindle book.
I don‘t know what to do to fix this…
I see what the author did there. The company buying up all the other companies is called Rainforest…
It took me a minute.
Oh my! I hated this book so much. It was the longest 6 hours of my life at 1.75x speed. It was racist, it was a lot of talking and singing? It was a lot of just telling. So many characters and the narrator did not differentiate them at all.
I‘ll just stick with Agatha Christie.
#authoramonth
Finished my first book for #auldlangspine! This wasn‘t on my radar at all as I don‘t read a ton of sci-fi anymore. I thought the characters acted a little young to be in their late 20s. However, I really loved this book and all the characters.
A group of friends break into a defunct spaceship. It takes off and they have to figure out how to survive. Also, romance! Great book!
Meh. Could have done without this novella. It‘s been a long time since I‘ve read the original book and I was excited to be back in this world. However, I was outside of the world for too long and didn‘t really remember anyone or what happened. It‘s probably a it‘s me and not you thing.
I have no idea how this book got on my radar but it was so good! I was immediately hooked and didn‘t want to put it down. Too soon to say it might be my favorite read of January?! It‘s Romantasy. Tamsyn is the royal whipping girl who gets married off and has to leave the only place she‘s known.
It is the 1st in the series and just came out in Sept. so be warned!
My first #roll100 book finished! #jumpstart2025
When I click on “reely” there is no definition or translation… is it a typo? Or is that how really used to be spelled?
I was listening to the audio but decided to switch to the print and see if it‘s better.
#authoramonth
I‘m not sure how this one got on my radar. 3 sisters are witches and run a tea shop telling their customers fortunes. They get enrolled by the head witches to help 3 witches find their task in life. They have to finish their task to not turn into ghosts once they die. The 3 sisters at the same time are following their passions but not sharing it with each other.
#jumpstart2025
My first monster romance. Loch Ness monster romance. Loved it!! Key‘s father passed away so she goes to Scotland to scatter his ashes and meet his side of the family. She gets enrolled in solving a mystery.
#jumpstart2025
Love this quick, easy read. Loving this series, book 5.
This one has midsummer night dreams vibes. A love potion goes awry and someone ends up murdered. So of course, she has to solve the murder. The romance was getting started and then the love potion ruined it. 😒

#gottacatchemall - murder (Marshadow)
#weekendreads - I meant to post this way earlier today. I‘ve been reading the tagged book since the first of the year.
I‘ve been listening to The Crescent Tea Room on audio.
My total points was 5,200. I read 19 books, watched a lot of Christmas movies but only got a few bingos.
Thanks for a great #wintergames #wintergames2024 #xmaschachas #christmaschapterchasers
Last book finished for winter games.
This one is set in a small town in England. Harriet is alone for Christmas this year and is drinking her sorrows away. She meets a mysterious man at the bar and has a one night stand. She sneaks out in the morning thinking she‘ll never see him again. Well turns out he‘s a lawyer for the lady who owns the whole town. Harriet is caught in an old theater and has to fix it in time for Christmas.
This is the last book I finished in 2024. Unfortunately, it wasn‘t my favorite of the series and I‘m not sure why. I love this world, it‘s set in Wales mostly, set during a house party with forced proximity. All things I typically love, but just wasn‘t feeling it. 🤷🏻♀️
2024 stats!
Thanks to Goodreads for these fun graphics!
Read 245 books this year (5 less than last year 🤷🏻♀️)
My favorite genres were no surprise

The tagged is my top book of the year. It‘s the first in the drowning empire series. I can‘t wait to pick up the last book in the trilogy in 2025!
#2024readingbracket
The tagged book was my favorite read of December. I‘m okay posting this since my current read is probably not going to be a favorite. It‘s also definitely not going to beat my 2024 Book of the Year, The Bone Shard Daughter! 💚💚
