I finished this month‘s #LMPBC Poetry selection this morning. I‘m feeling very glad we picked this one. I‘d heard 2 of her spoken word poems before, but reading this was a completely new experience. She already has a strong voice for someone so young, and I closed this book already excited to see what her next one will look like. I‘ll mail this out later in the week.
Holidays over, back to real life where the day starts with tea and poetry.
Yesterday was a day of lovely #bookmail! This month‘s poetry #LMPBC book arrived along with my new (used) copy of Middlemarch for next month‘s #pemberlittens readalong. (I think part of me thought if I picked a copy that was physically smaller I wouldn‘t get overwhelmed.) I‘m super excited about both of these!
Thanks for the tag @IndoorDame ❤️
1. Tagged book
2. I‘ve subscribed to OwlCrate- and enjoyed it, but I prefer litsy swaps to book boxes.
3. My favorite books are The Autobiography of Santa Claus , The Dark Is Rising and The Children of Green Knowe

Please consider yourself tagged!!!!
This May be my favorite book this year. I felt every feeling and heard every poem in my heart and my head. #lmpbc #poetry
I love this quote so much I put the tagged book on hold for me!
I think I might have liked these poems better if I had read them in print instead listening to the audio. The poems were read by the author, and I just wasn't crazy about her voice. Some of the poems were quite moving, though.
tagged Sarah Kay's book but this is an excerpt from another poem, found here:

Hi @LoverofLit here is the set of books I curated for my nephew while he stays with us temporarily and decide what he wishes to do, truly, with his life. I mixed in a few graphic novels in the event that he gets too bored with too much text in the other narratives. :) I selected a few which I thought would be uniquely relevant to him given where he is at, but am hoping a few of these would resonate with your hubby, too. 😍😘🧚🏼♀️
I read good reviews about this book of poetry. And, I need more poetry in my life, so it‘s a win-win. I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. 😊📚
Tagged book is very special to me
Link to a poem that explains depression so perfectly 💜

“I will love you with too many commas, but never any asterisks.” #currentlyreading #poetry
Nothing quite compares to the feeling of love and support one gets when sharing a poem about mothers between three generations of women. #throwback to when my mum insisted on reading “B.” to my gran after I read it to her.

Sometimes I wish the aliens would take Kansas.
I'm taking my time reading through these pieces, but I'm very much enjoying them.
I can‘t say enough about Sarah Kay. Go watch her spoken word on YouTube, she‘s like a brilliant Disney Princess with her cute dresses and expressive face. I‘ve been reading so much poetry lately because Ive been trying to jumpstart my own creativity, get my own juices flowing, and I finally broke through after reading this collection. The poem “Hands” made me cry.
1. Posing in front of poet Phillis Wheatley, part of the Boston Women's Memorial, today.
2. Looking forward to visiting Mystic Seaport later this week!
3. Strawberries!!
4. Early bird, although I wish I wasn't.
5. Wonder Woman, I think.

I'm rereading an old favourite, and it's just as good as the first time I read it. Sarah Kay's poetry is funny and wonderful. I'll always return to this book.
For #recommendsday, my new staff pick at work! In her debut collection, Kay unites the personal with the universal in a way that's both unexpected and breathtaking. Her poems sing with her sense of rhythm, language, and story.
I don't read very much #poetry but I am trying to change that! Here is a new purchase I made to try and expand my experiences with poetry! #aprilbookshowers
"No matter your wreckage, there will be someone to find you beautiful." -Sarah Kay
"No Matter The Wreckage, #AllIsNotLost" makes for a pretty good first line of a poem, doesn't it @Liberty? #nowreading
Book mail of the day🤗 fall semester will be over in a few short weeks, and I'll finally dedicate more time to reading all these great books from my tbr pile.
I got some fantastic books for my birthday and I can't wait to get more great pictures!
My collection sadly does not include a lot of #pocauthors but I did find these treasures. I'd love recommendations if anyone knows some I should read! #septphotochallenge #somethingforsept @RealLifeReading
I like her way, the sentences she makes, her shapes, the way she gives her reader a new image to consider.
Poetry before bed is my new favorite habit. This collection from Sarah Kay is beautiful and accessible (perfect to fall asleep with). Didn't mean to pick a title twin for my next read but I'm looking forward to Adrienne Rich as well!
