#WondrousWednesday @Eggs

1. Fun and uplifting pic from my gallery: Check! My elder kiddo finished up Kindergarten from home this year, and between what he read and what I read to him we made it through 2,000+ books (and chapters, 1 chapter = 1 book in K-2) over the course of the school year. This pic went on his school‘s social media.

2. Book character for a day: A Baggins on a really chill day in the Shire.

3. Best of May: Dune!!! #Dune2020

Went thrift store/consignment shopping with my sister yesterday. Always a dangerous thing for me to do so I do it rarely. Found this big boxed set of four volumes of Richard Scarry stories and had to have it!

This weekend's project was bringing all of the kid's books down from upper shelves to their own unit so the kiddos can reach and explore. #Goose (4) was sooo excited "We have our own library! Are other people going to come here?????"

Okay @LibrarianRyan I got no French Hens. I thought all day about rounding up three books that related to France somehow, but each night my son picks a Busy World story to top off our nightly reading and tonight he picked Pierre the Paris Policeman so...

for #12DaysofChristmas I give you a French Rabbit, Cat, and Fox.

LibrarianRyan Ahhhhhhh. 👍🏻🎅🏼❤️ 7y
AmyG Oh, how my son loved Richard Scarry. ❤️ (edited) 7y
DGRachel I loved Richard Scarry when I was a kid! My favorite thing to do was search for Lowly Worm. ❤️ 7y

The next week is very busy with work commitments, as has been today having to go into work this afternoon when it should be the weekend. Apologies if there are delays in replying to posts or liking your posts. I will try to keep up with my photo challenges.

#BigJetPlane made me think of the Brazil story in my son‘s Busy World book.

Too many people want to go to Carnival, so Noah the boa constrictor has to hold the plane together!

Apologies for not being on much over the past week, and not likely to have much of a presence over the next couple of weeks. Busiest time of the year - SATS results just came back at midnight last night, got results for the year to analyse, new school improvement plan to write, 400 school reports to write, interviews to do, governors meetings and end of year evaluations to write, end of year & new school year things to complete. But will return!

Andrew65 Will drop in as and when able to. 😊 Miss doing the photo challenges. @Tiffy_Reads @Cinfhen @RealLifeReading 7y

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Wow you are going to be busy!! We will miss you, but will be here when you're done!! 😊💕 7y
Bambolina_81 @Andrew65 I'm taking a break from the classroom for a while and I know the run up to end of year is mayhem. Good luck with the SATS I heard mixed reviews about them this year (again). Not long left and then it's the summer hols 🤣 7y
TrishB Was thinking you were quiet! You' ll have a long break to catch up 😀 7y
Andrew65 @TrishB Or collapse, delete as appropriate! Can't wait for the break to target some reading! 7y
Andrew65 @Bambolina_81 still issues with SATS, especially in reading where pass mark gone up from 21 last year to 26(!!!!) this year. So unfair on the children and teachers! 7y
Bambolina_81 @Andrew65 26?! I'm an English teacher and that is just obscene. Students and teachers aren't given the opportunity to enjoy and have fun learning / teaching. There's never anytime for the fun stuff because you're always beating them over the head with SPaG. Sheesh! I could go on and on but sure you don't need that. You're doing a great job! 7y
Cinfhen Nice to have you pop in @Andrew65 😊good luck with end of the year mayhem 😜 7y
Andrew65 @Bambolina_81 We serve a high depravation area and all results above national average apart from reading. If not changed would be 86%, instead 64%. Makes a massive difference! And agree with your comments totally. How same children can be 13% above in writing but 7% below in reading I don't know. 7y
Andrew65 @Cinfhen Thanks 😊 7y
Ms_T Don't worry, Andrew, we're all just twiddling our thumbs while we wait for your return 😜Take it easy and we'll see you again soon 😘 7y
Andrew65 @Ms_T Thanks 😊 7y
Melissa_J Wow! That's a lot to do. When does your break start? We'll be here waiting when you get back 👍🏻😊 7y
Andrew65 @Melissa_J Thanks Melissa. It is a lot! The joys of the job. 😊 We finish on 20th July, and return on 4th September. 7y

These are my #anthropomorphiccharacters for #feistyfeb When reading to my son I do change some of the more... culturally insensitive details. Suki Yahki and Sue Zookie in the Tokyo story? I know it was 1965 when you wrote this, Richard Scarry, but jeez.
