This was the second book in the Mary Poppins series, and I have to say overall it was a delightful read. Each chapter really stood alone as it‘s own story, although there were some repeat of characters in the book, as well as some return of characters from the first film. This really does give you a bit of a different feel to the character of Mary Poppins to the original film. I look forward to continuing with the magical series.

I started reading Mary Poppins Comes Back after watching Mary Poppins Returns. I'd heard so many people talking about how different the films was, but I was surprised how much they actually used.
I love how Mary Poppins is quite mean. She almost makes people think they're losing their minds by telling them all the magic things didn't happen.

I would definitely recommend reading the book for anyone who needs a bit of magic in their lives.

Saw the new Mary Poppins Returns movie today. Started my new year off practically perfect in every way! I love the original movie and you can‘t touch it, but this sequel really keeps true to the spirit of the original. The casting, the storyline, the music, and the animation are all a nod to the Disney classic. And I love the song “A Cover Is Not the Book”! My book nerdy heart and inner child were so touched. ❤️💙❤️

When I was very little my father bought stories on cassette - including all of the Mary Poppins Stories. I also took them out of the library. They were beyond beloved to me, and of course I bought them when I had children as well as downloaded from audible. I was nervous about the movie, but to be honest- it was practically perfect in every way. ❤️❤️❤️

Chrissyreadit @mcipher yes- enchanted is a great word for it. Emily Blunt was amazing and a perfect choice to follow Julie Andrews footsteps. I could not love Lin Manuel Miranda or Dick Van Dycke more. 5y

Book #2 in the series... I think I have book #3 waiting on my shelf, but I‘ll have to put the others on my Christmas list, I guess. This one seemed to align itself pretty well with the first book, only Mary Poppins seems even sassier. ♥️

ju.ca.no I think I‘m liking the second book better than the first, it is so far away from the movie that I can‘t really compare them and Mary Poppins seems a bit less cross and vain (or at least not that often), and the stories are really cute! A bit like a fairytale collection 😍 @Sarah83 6y

ju.ca.no The Story about Spring was really sweet, and I love how the adventures/tales pick up things from the conversations of the kids, like Michael asking about the children of Noah and then meeting the eldest daughter!
The last story finally resembled the movie again, I think it‘s the first time we learn that the match man‘s name is Bert and the Merry-go-round appears as well😊 I also thought the ending was a really sweet one 😊 @Sarah83 6y

ju.ca.no @Sarah83 I really like how the movie is picking up themes from this book as well, like the kite- it is very different from the movie but you still get the reference! And while Miss Andrew was not in the movie- she did appear in the Musical version I watched a few years ago😊 6y
