I guess it‘s better than the first book? Maybe I‘m just not in the mood for fantasy because I‘m not getting hooked on the story 🤷🏻♀️

I started a graphic audio of this and it‘s great. I‘ve already listened to the first book in this series.
Love my new book cover!
My goal for #MarvelousMarch is to finish my current read & start #ACOWAR! About 550 pages to go! 🩵

Action, betrayal, steamy scenes, etc. why didn't I read these books sooner?
I think about halfway through the first book I was Team Rhys. With this book, I‘m fully cemented on his side. The backstories are really filled out here and the political intrigue keeps the story moving along at a nice pace. This is slow burn but when the 🌶️🌶️ kicks in, it is worth the wait.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Three stars, I guess. After 23 hours, I feel…indifferent? I like Rhys as a character, I feel like Feyre has grown a bit but her self-centeredness takes me out. Do future books shift POV? A part of me wonders why Book 1 even needed to happen as it did? So many convenient coincidences & plot holes.
That said - I will get to Book 3 at some point bc I want to see how this turns out (and if it redeems itself?).
I‘m approaching halfway through and I think my main issue with this series (so far) is largely Feyre herself. She self-sabotages and is so defensive all the time and never hears anyone out - not her sisters, not Rhys, not even Tamlin. She paints herself like she‘s the big savior but in the end she always is helped at the last minute and that credit is rarely acknowledged. Sigh. I hope she heals bc this series will be tough if not.
Welp, I‘m back in the ACOTAR mode. So many people have said #2 is their fave of the series/when it starts to get “crazy”. I‘m almost a quarter deep and so far, the only character who doesn‘t make me deeply cringe is Lucien. 🤷🏻♀️ I‘m not loving the retcon of Tamlin‘s whole character to further twerk on the obvious love triangle of it all but already Rhys is more likeable than in #1 so… 🤷🏻♀️😂👀

Love the story line, the world building, the quest, Feyre, Rhys, Cassian, Mor, Amren and Azriel. Did not need 2 ½ - 3 chapters of sexual activity that read as if a 15 year old boy who had never engaged in sexual activity wrote it. It was repetitive and, at times, cringe worthy. The ending was good enough to keep me motivated to read the next one.

Make a great day everyone 😊
I don‘t remember the last time a book gave me stress sweats, but the counter just reset. 🫨 #huey #lennox #catsoflitsy
I liked this book better than the first one. It's crazy how Tamlin just ignores Feyre's PTSD.
I was so happy when Rhys showed up. He's by far the most interesting character in the series. *purrs*
The banter between him and Feyre is perfect. I love how they help each other.
I enjoy a good series - but read more stand alones. I like to read in bed, but usually fall asleep! POV doesn't matter to me if it makes sense in the story - if it adds to the story.

Make a great day everyone📚
Always a sucker for book maps! This is a GIANT book to cart around in my backpack, but my doc was 30 minutes behind, so I‘m glad I had it!
Had to switch to audio as my library loan is due and others are waiting for this one -I'm 1/3 in, love it and have to finish - the audio will be a good motivator to get out (or go to gym as it is raining here) and walk 😉

Make a great day everyone ☔
I just started the second book in these series. I'm not sure what other books I will get to each month - but these series will definitely be on my list each time -
Thanks for hosting #SeriesLove2024 @TheSpineView and @Andrew65 it was the push I needed to get started on these - and I'm so glad I did!
Make a great day everyone ❄️
Going to a Starfall Ball next week, and I‘m way behind in my reading!
Everyone said the second one is better (more plot, more sexy, more drama) and they were right. It‘s not going to win a literary prize but it was entertaining.
Wow. Fantasy is not my top genre, but I needed to know what all the fuss was about. And now I have drank the Kool-Aid. These are good. Just finished book 2 and I‘m starting book 3 immediately. My apologies to all of the books on my to be read pile. 😂
I read the first book this summer and honestly wasn‘t sold on it. But picked this one up to finish my PopSugar challenge and I‘m so glad I did. This one was such a fun wild ride.
I…. CAN…NOT… quit thinking about this book.
The character and world building is exquisite. If you haven‘t… just do it, just dive into that SJM/ACOTAR black hole with me. 5⭐️
I have never been obsessed with a book or its characters until this one. I cannot even fully explain, this book has taken over my entire thoughts for the past days, and now that is finished, I cannot wait to read the next. Marvelous work from the author. If you did not love the first book, trust me, this one will not disappoint. It is a story full of emotion, of all kinds, fantastic characters, incredible scenes, captivating action.
Doing a reread to end my year. Fourth Wing and Iron Flame have both finally arrived so they will follow this series.
Got my blanket, coffee, and a book. Couldnt ask for a better time.
“He thinks he'll be remembered as the villain in the story."
She snorted.
"But I forgot to tell him," I said quietly, opening the door, "that the villain is usually the person who locks up the maiden and throws away the key."
"Oh?"
I shrugged. "He was the one who let me out." #sjm
Oh, mother and cauldron. Beyond incredible. The first was decent, this was an explosion of everything else. I see why they say Maas is a crazed writer. This story was incredible in its slow burn and ptsd showings. I just can‘t with these bat boys. I‘m ravaged. Every single emotion reading this; crying, laughing out loud, exclaiming, screaming… Second book is everything better than first. I can‘t get over them. Found love, family. “Good soup” #sjm
I was completely bound to this book! I loved how Feyre's trauma from the previous book had such a prominent role in the story. In most series, it seems like the characters don't really respond to huge life altering events, so this was a relief. I also very much enjoyed how my vieuw of certain characters has now changed since book 1. Just loved it!
(🎧 - audiobook)
Starting this one. Listened to the first one now reading to the second one.
I don't know guys, I feel like there's a lot of plot holes. Is she really this comfortable on Rhys's side after what happened Under the Mountain?
Make it make sense!

So much better than the first book. The writing still leaves a lot to be desired, but the story is so immersive and interesting that I didn‘t notice it as much as in ACOTAR.
Nothing like listening to sad things and crying in public! 🤦🏻♀️
This was by far so much more feels listening to it vs. just reading it. Lord was it amazing and it ripped my heart out.
Ok so i ordered this yesterday came in the mail today.. Ad soon as I am done the last few chapter of the first book on to this one. Like I don‘t even remember why I didn‘t continue the series
Big props to Maas for such a heart wrenching portrayal of PTSD. Reading it felt so real.
Yup, I get the hype now! Wow that was amazing and that ending💔❤️🩹🔥❤️🔥 I really wish this book was multi POV because I wanted more time with Cassian, Azriel, Mor and Amren. I was in tears reading Chapter 54. I can‘t wait to start the next book.
After thinking book one was good but not great, I‘m now totally in on this series. Maas writes a really compelling romance and it‘s just what I needed right now. It got me through most of my waking hours on a 15 hour flight so that‘s saying something! There was way more action vs the first book, and though the plot left me scratching my head at times (did they really think through their plans sometimes??), it was all very entertaining.
Bk1 of #FabulousFebruary #readathon was the 2nd book in the ACOTAR series. I‘ve read this a few times now & love it every time. I rarely read the 1st book anymore, Tamlin annoys me SO much, and this is the best one of the series.Feyre has defeated Amarantha, realises Tamlin is a dick & runs off with sexy wings Rhys. Jealousy, stupidity & puffed up males ensue. #BookspinBingo #SeriesLove2023 #ChunksterChallenge #Pantone2023 #ReadySetRead #ISpyBingo

This book is probably - right now - my favorite book of all the books. She writes it in the sweet spot that is perfect for me, so an objective review is not what you‘ll find here.
I love these characters, the pivot this story takes, the emotion, the drama, the twists. I read multiple sections more than once, and as soon as I finished the book, I wanted to read it again. Please everyone read it so we can all gush.
Book 2 of ACOTAR. This is masterful! I don't know if she wrote this one first or not, but this book makes A Court of Thorns and Roses look like a prequel. Feyre is once again a warrior, but of a different mind. Broken almost beyond repair, she learns to live again. The lands of Prythian are enlarged, and my character crush, Rhysand is sexier than ever. Thrilling, imaginative, full of action and spice, ACOTAR book 2 is so very good.
Truth is deadly. Truth is freedom. Truth can break and mend and bind.
My friend through many dangers.
My lover who had healed my broken and weary soul.
My mate who had waited for me against all hope, despite all odds.
