Sadly, I‘m rather disappointed in Simon Pegg‘s autobiography. Read my full review on GR: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3064287369
#TIL Simon Pegg exploited his use of Oedipal subplots as a dramatic device in Shaun of the Dead and he & Nick Frost intended the ambiguity about whether or not Liz knew about Ed concealed in the shed.

#wonderouswednesday on Thursday because that‘s how this week is going
1. Most recent bookish pic + a TBT of me at the 2013 NaNoWriMo Night of Writing Dangerously (and although you cant see it, my skirt has fountain pens on it 🖋)
2. “Pegg didn‘t say anything. How could he admit to a lowly informant that he had fibbed to Time Out about inventing time travel?” (from the tagged)

1. One of the jobs I interviewed for last week is calling my references this week. ?? I‘m hoping this is a good sign.
2. “Despite all of this divulging of long-held secrets what you won‘t be reading about in this book are salacious details of, say, for example . . . my first sexual experience.” (The next chapter starts off with his first sexual experience. ?)
3. Misty & foggy, 43° F
Continuing #nfNov with Simon Pegg‘s autobiography.
Any other Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz fans?
And can you believe that it‘s been 15 years since Shaun of the Dead was released? Doesn‘t seem like it should be that long ago. I swear 1998 was just a few years ago. . .
My favorite comedy duo
I‘ve been a fan of Simon Pegg (and Nick Frost) for many years so I jumped at the chance to listen to this - read by Simon himself. It‘s no wonder I enjoy his work, we seem to have a lot in common. He relates his love for Star Trek and Star Wars (and The Young Ones) and talks about how Spaced and the Cornetto Trilogy came to be. If you‘re a fan, I highly recommend this listen. Also, please comment so I know there are others like me! 🤣 4⭐️ #2019

Nerd Do Well by Simon Pegg. I‘ve loved his work since Spaced. Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, & Run Fat Boy Run—all so fun.
Yikes. Was cleaning house and found two books i read halfway before grad school reading took over my life. And that was almost a decade ago ? i guess they're not "in progress" anymore ? i think I'll have to start again from the beginning which drives me crazy. Can you pick a book up from that long ago and just dive back in? Also, one was bookmarked with a photo from my childhood. Glad i found that!! #mommyreads #nonfiction
I love Simon!
My book/library bag. I originally made it to sell but decided to keep it.
The man behind the #zombie-fest that is Shaun of the Dead. This looks quite fun actually! #rockinmay
What can I say? I loved this. I found it extremely funny and an about-face from the other memoirs I've read, which were more serious/inspirational. This was purely entertaining.
Craving another memoir audiobook and his one was available from the library. I love simon pegg so I'm looking forward to listening to this

#FlashbackFriday to one of my very favorite books. :) British actor/screenwriter Simon Pegg's autobiography is one of the funniest books I have ever read. He includes memories from his years growing up and developing a love for all things nerdy. In between chapters he also includes this totally random, over the top fictional parody about himself as a super spy. It's great!
Found this book amusing and charming, very much the style of Simon Pegg like you'd expect. He tells stories from his life - pre acting days interspersed between chapters of his action story faux-memoir. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ of 5.
More actor's memoirs!
I am a huge fan of Simon Pegg. Definitely get the audio version, read by Simon. Chapters alternate between his biographical material, complete with embarrassing stories, and an interspersed silly adventure story written by Simon, complete with robot butler definitely NOT (ha) inspired by C3PO. 🚀
