The Pearl Sister
The Pearl Sister: Book Four | Lucinda Riley
From the breathtaking beaches of Thailand to the barely tamed wilds of colonial Australia, The Pearl Sister is the next captivating story in New York Times bestselling author Lucinda Rileys epic series about two women searching for a place to call home. CeCe DAplise has always felt like an outcast. But following the death of her fatherthe reclusive billionaire affectionately called Pa Salt by the six daughters he adopted from around the globeshe finds herself more alone than ever. With nothing left to lose, CeCe delves into the mystery of her familial origins. The only clues she holds are a black and white photograph and the name of a female pioneer who once traversed the globe from Scotland to Australia. One hundred years earlier, Kitty McBride, a clergyman's daughter, abandoned her conservative upbringing to serve as the companion to a wealthy woman traveling from Edinburgh to Adelaide. Her ticket to a new land brings the adventure she dreamed ofand a love that she had never imagined. When CeCe reaches the searing heat and dusty plains of the Red Centre of Australia, something deep within her responds to the energy of the area and the ancient culture of the Aboriginal people, and her soul reawakens. As she comes closer to finding the truth of her ancestry, CeCe begins to believe that this untamed, vast continent could offer her what shes always yearned for: a sense of belonging. Just as The Shadow Sister was an engaging and mesmerizing story of self-discovery and love (Library Journal, starred review), The Pearl Sister is your next perfect curl-up-in-an-armchair read (Daily Mail, UK) from Lucinda Riley.

4½✨

I was a bit sceptical about CeCe. Out of all the sisters she's the one I didn't like, nor cared for. But in the end she's redeemed in my eyes. My heart went out to her and in the end she grew and changed so much, I couldn't help but love her.
That combined with Kitty's totally submersive story (I absolutely loved her from the get go) this was another excellent edition to the Seven Sisters.

#BookSpin

Enchanted_Bibliophile I'm excited to see where Tiggy will take us.
And I'm really, really looking forward to Pa Salts story

And I'm on to the 4th book in my re-read journey of The Seven Sisters series. I can't wait to get to Pa Salt's story, but I'm really enjoying re-reading every single book again.

Enchanted_Bibliophile This one is on my TBR for August. Can't say CeCe is my favourite, so I'm reluctant to start 1y
Yoricke_SouthAfrica @Enchanted_Bibliophile I know exactly what you are saying. She's not my favourite sister either, but her story is very interesting. I think you'll enjoy this book a lot. 1y

Started listening to The Pearl Sister by Lucinda Riley this morning. Two hours later…I really should do something else, but I love these stories and the narrators are always wonderful. Working my way through to Pa Salt. I hope to get there before the end of the year. #SeriesLove2023

These books are so comforting and easy to read. I always enjoy getting lost in them and they‘re such a welcome break from demanding literature. This one (book4) could have done with some editing tho! It‘s a massive book but I loved the Australian history and it just whizzed by. 👍

I'm a true fan of Riley's writing and this installment of the Seven Sisters series was really enjoyable, although for some reason it took me longer to warm to the central character and her story. The historical and cultural aspects of life in Australia was truly fascinating and has ignited a spark in me to know more. It also had some moments of true drama and emotion that were wonderful.

I am truly loving this series by Lucinda Riley. This was the 4th book in the series. In this book, we traveled to historic Australia and the mystery surrounding the pearl diving trade. A truly magical journey 💜

Freespirit I don't know this writer...thanks for sharing👍🏻 5y
Yoricke_SouthAfrica @Freespirit This series is my first for this author, but definitely not my last. I have enjoyed reading these books so much 🌻 5y

I really like this Seven Sisters series. The Pearl Sister was no exception. The historical part of this book was about the pearl industry in Australia - which I knew nothing about. The modern part was about sister CeCe finding her way in the world and discovering her ancestry.

I don't think it's a spoiler to say that I suspect young Eddie is more than just a supporting character...

One more book - massive in size, but surprisingly quick to read. The author through this series takes her readers to different remote places across the globe and teach them something about these places while they‘re there.
I had some issues with style and character portrayal... For example CeCe being dyslexic doesn't mean she should be lacking general knowledge!
Although I am looking forward to the next sister's story!

I got my new kindle paperwhite! And I'm reading this book, the 4th in the Seven Sisters series. I mostly like real books in my hands, but since I started using overdrive from my library, I decided a kindle was justified! I had one of the very first ones, used some, but it died, so hence my new one!

Andrew65 I loved this book and series. 7y

Another awesome book in an amazing series!!! The only bad thing is having to wait for the next one!!!

ephemeralwaltz Such a long wait.. :( this one was really good! I loved CeCe 7y
Booknerd2 @ephemeralwaltz I agree. Originally I didn‘t care for her, thought of her as bossy and overbearing. This really made her more likable. 7y
ephemeralwaltz @Booknerd2 exactly! I imagined her so different and she surprised me in such a good way. One of my favorite sisters for sure! 7y

KathyWheeler The book synopsis says it‘s the second in a series. What‘s the first book? 7y
HeatherBlue @KathyWheeler it‘s actually the fourth book in the series. The Seven Sisters is the first book, and the whole series is amazing! 7y

😍 I LOVED this! This is definitely my second-favorite in the series, after Book 1. An EPIC story that takes you to the beaches of Thailand and to the land of Australia generations ago. I really liked seeing Aboriginal characters celebrated. The female protagonists, Kitty and CeCe, were an absolute delight to read about.

At 682 pages, I'm declaring this my first chunkster of the year!
Bring on Book 5, I hope it'll be another 5⭐ read.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Andrew65 Yey! Knew you‘d love it. This is also my second favourite after a Storm Sister. My wife‘s favourite is Shadow Sister Although she hasn‘t read this one yet. Strange how we all have different favourites. Now a long time (too long) to wait for book 5. Interesting how there were a few more clues in this one to the seventh Sister. 7y
ephemeralwaltz @Andrew65 I know! I loved learning more about the myth. And that teasing final scene about Tiggy.... 7y

Loved it ❤️ This book made me see a new side to CeCe & she grew on me more as the book progressed as did the story! Some emotional ups and downs in this one, some sad stories and some happy stories. This book had me so hooked it kept me reading until gone 3am two days running & finished 704 pages in around 27 hours! Couldn‘t put it down in the second half, and think I picked some clues up on the underlying theme in the series. Now need to wait👇

Andrew65 👆For book 5. First Chunkster of the year finished. #yearofthechunkster (edited) 7y

Melissa_J @Andrew65 three is still a lot for only a few days into the new year. You go, Andrew! I‘m back at work so as much as I would prefer to, I don‘t have the option of spending my weekdays reading. Oh if only someone would pay me to read all day... 7y
Andrew65 @Melissa_J Also our children are grown and flown the nest! This makes for a lot more undisturbed reading time. I read an awful lot more than 10 (or even 5) years ago. 7y
SilversReviews Love her books. 7y
Andrew65 @SilversReviews Glad I am not alone in this! 7y
SilversReviews @Andrew65 Have you read her other books - not the ones in this series? 7y
Andrew65 @SilversReviews Read Three Of her standalones - The Girl on the Cliff and The Midnight Rose Which make my favourites list, and The Light Behind The Window (The Lavender Garden) Which I loved too but just not to the same extent. 7y
SilversReviews @Andrew65 This is funny. I liked THE GIRL ON THE CLIFF and THE LAVENDER GARDEN the best. :) 7y
Andrew65 @SilversReviews Rather like my wife and I, I loved book 2 of the Seven Sisters best she liked book 3 the best. Most probably splitting hairs, as all excellent books! 7y
