This was so flipping cute. Gideon was the best and I loved the friendship between Claudia and Iris. Can‘t wait to read more by Emma Mills.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5/5)
This started out as a solid teenage read set in a high school setting, but it turned out to be full of cliches and overused tropes that I couldn‘t get over. However I gave this book extra points simply for having Gideon being an adorable character that none of us deserve. Overall, it‘s a light and quick read but I doubt I‘ll read it again.
I‘m posting one book per day from my ever-increasing TBR. No description. No explanation. Just books to read. Join the fun if you want.
Day 68.

Such a cute read! It was such a necessary light-hearted read after tackling some deep nonfiction. I loved the characters. The humor worked well. It was very realistic and relatable, especially to my high school self. Emma Mills does a great job in capturing the perspective of a teen. It's an entertaining page-turner. I look forward to reading other books by Emma Mills.
I've really been wanting some light, happy reads lately and I always tend to gravitate to YA contemporary romances. They are just so innocent and pure and I cannot get enough of them. Foolish Hearts is a wonderful mix of friendships, new love, and navigating through insecurities. It also has lovely family relationships and unabashed love for video games and pop band fandom. It was absolutely adorable and it made so happy to read this! #yaromance
Congratulations on this amazing milestone, @Megabooks !!! And thank you so much for creating the #25Etsy giveaway to celebrate!!
My favorite read this summer is a toss-up between the tagged book and the one I just finished, The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary. Neither is a book of high adventure, just some life stories with a solid dose of humor!
Week 19: A book with a 2 word title
Reading: Foolish Hearts by Emma Mills
FOR A GOOD TIME, CALL THIS BOOK. I haven‘t read something lighthearted that made me this happy and warm in a longggg time. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Reading this was like being in high school all over again and it hit me with a nice dose of nostalgia. I have had a good life and am grateful. ❤️
My first five picks for #20Books of Summer:
-Cliff's Edge - 3*
-Foolish Hearts - 4*
-Dreamology - 3*
-A Portrait of Emily Price - Bail
-A Noise Downstairs - 4*
Foolish Hearts was definitely my fave. I really need Emma Mills to write about a thousand more books.
To me, this is perfect YA - fun, snarky, enjoyable characters, and just enough angst to remind you that they're teens! I appreciate that Mills is willing to give some of her characters a good home life with loving family members, too. This isn't a book that will change the world, but it's a happy, engaging read that had me snorting with laughter more than once. And it's my second read for #20BooksofSummer !
I've been in a bit of a reading slump lately, but Mills's combination of snarky humor and sharp insights is pulling me out of it.
I loved it. It was like being in high school all over again. A nice book
I‘m not sure why I waited so long to read this. It was pretty good and not quite what I expected. But I love a good YA contemporary with a happy ending!
What a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
And nothing at all

Congratulations & thankyou ❤️I choose the tagged book Foolish Hearts no. 4.
I love this book!! I laughed throughout reading it. It truly hits on the heart of most teenage romance and puts a spin of amazing humor on it!! Well worth the read 💜
Checking out a past Owlcrate book I haven‘t had the chance to read yet!!
The cover of this book looks like it‘s covered with #fireworks but the author is a cell biologist and I think the patterns are actually bacteria colonies growing in Petri dishes! This was a gift in the Valentine‘s book exchange and I haven‘t read it yet, but I plan to get to it soon! #ReadingResolutions @Jess7
This book fell firmly in the "not for me" category. There's nothing really wrong with it, it's cute, but I just wasn't interested. I did really love the naked cover of the book though, I love taking off a dust jacket to find there's something underneath.
Sweet but serious at times, relatable and surprisingly funny, too. I love the array of characters, that we have kids from different racial backgrounds, different sexualities, and neuro-diversity as well. Also, I appreciate that unlike some YA contemporary, I felt like these teens actually acted and spoke like real teenagers do (as far as my old ass can tell). Plus, A Middummer Night‘s Dream is one of my fave Shakespeare plays 🧚🏼♀️ 4/5 ⭐️
(Man, the MMORPG stuff is making me really miss my gaming days 😭🧝🏻♀️🗡🔮)
Definitely still in “I need light and fun reads to keep my mind off my shitty reality” mode. #nowreading
This book was ADORABLE!!!!! I kept my roommate up with my late night giggles.
This is so cute so far!
‘You don‘t think you could change Darth Vader?‘ I say.
‘Nah, Girl, Padmé tried.‘ #maythefourthbewithyou #starwars #uppercasebox
Finished this the other day and found myself absolutely adoring it! I don‘t read contemporary YA very often, but this book was a refreshing dip back into the genre for me. I just found all of the characters so endearing and genuine. Definitely a good light read if you‘re looking for a break from anything too heavy.
It‘s a good thing she‘s so darn cute. 😏
Starting a new book tonight! So far, this is pretty cute. I‘m not a big reader of contemporary YA, but this one seems endearingly quirky and I can dig that.
This book is funny, witty, and utterly adorable! I can hardly contain my excitement about it! Great characters, fun plot, and a humor that had me literally laughing out loud, and often! Check this one out if you haven't!

I got to a point toward the end where I thought, “This is usually the part where the girl messes everything up with a lie or a cruelty of some sort. Maybe she won‘t and everything will be happy without the heartache.” If you read this kind of book (YA realistic fiction with a romantic relationship that blossoms), you know what I‘m going to say next. Spoiler below.
This is a light YA read, which is helping with my irritability today. Also, the cover colors go with my shirt.
Foolish Hearts isn‘t bad, but it‘s not a stand-out either. There‘s nothing special about it ... in fact, the underlying romance plot has been told too many times before. “Self-sabotaging teen falls in love unexpectedly. Don‘t worry when your world falls apart because you can trust that everything will tie up with that neat little bow in the end.” I found myself bored too many times, just because the plot really lacks originality. #YAlit
