Bail at page 104. I found this such a chore. It started off excellent, and I was hooked, but about 30 pages in, I was bored senseless.

Ailsa Rae was a delightful surprise! I wasn‘t expecting to love this as much as I did, but it was full of “heart.” It was an easy, light read, with some serious subject matter. I enjoyed the believable relationship Ailsa had with her mother, who is both her closest confidant and an overbearing nurturer. It‘s a fine line to tread when your heart hangs in the balance. I also was not prepared for the multiple love stories to tug on my ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I had surgery a week and a half ago & have been pretty much bed-bound since then. I haven‘t had any focus to be able to read or anything else. 🥺 I‘ve mostly just been watching game shows. But today was the big OKC members only presale for our annual book sale, and my husband was kind enough to take me. I didn‘t want to miss it! Most of these were $1 or $2. Hoping the tagged book is light & easy to get back on track! #bookhaul
The writing is mostly comfortable & I did appreciate the evolution of the characters as the plot developed. A decent read with some good messages, I did enjoy this one. The Ailsa/Seb angle felt like “insta love“ in the beginning. though I did eventually warm to the situation. I will admit though, the ending, though solid, lacked the impact I was hoping for.
This is a heart warming read. Check out my review here. https://reecaspieces.com/2019/11/11/the-curious-heart-of-ailsa-rae-by-stephanie-...
This was simply wonderful! Beautiful, insightful writing, wonderful characters and ALL the emotions! Ailsa is a 28 yo heart transplant recipient who has lived under threat of death since birth. We‘re beside her as she navigates her new normal...the ups and downs, the losses and gains as she finds herself and reexamines her closest relationships. Heartwarming, heartbreaking, hilarious, and illuminating. 5/5⭐️

This is lovely. Like a warm, uncomplicated hug.
❤
Serious subject matter with a lovely fluff story around it. Made me happy to be on the organ donor register. Lovely romantic story and a good look at relationships after such a big thing as a life saving transplant. Some things were a little unbelievable, and it took a little while to get into it but a great read all round. 4 🌟
Little one napping, big one making a total mess of the playroom. Time for some reading! As someone who joined the organ donor register last year, this is striking a cord. ❤
Ok, I opened my bookmail and Laurie, you sent me a booksleeve!!!! I am so thrilled- I have been coveting the booksleeves I see on Litsy but have never owned one. The pattern reminds me of the years spent at the library as a child. I can‘t wait to read the book and I love the bookmark as well! Thank you so very much- you have brought me such joy!!!

There is something about walking to the mailbox and finding a package addressed to you that has arrived from another country. Having not travelled much, it‘s an exciting event for me! I‘ll open it in a minute- just wanted to enjoy that #bookmail feeling!

Told with sensitivity and humour, we follow Ailsa as she gets her new heart. A fierce spirit trapped in an ailing body, she learns to take back control after so long leaving things to fate. We see the importance of family, friendship, love, of new experiences and knowing the scars our lives leave are the marks of lives lived. Fantastic storytelling, and characters that glow. It'll make you want to learn to tango and embrace your inner unicorn.
Very good. Some difficult issues tackled with sincerity and integrity. Enjoyable which made it a rewarding experience. Thank you #Readers First and #NetGalley for providing proof copies.

Took the toddler to walk in last night. They couldn't find anything wrong so I doubted myself. This mornings events have taught me not to. Definite tummy bug. 😷 Pyjama and cuddle day for the toddler.

Oh this was Such a lovely story. It's sweet, funny, emotional and touching in all the right places. There's a perfect blend of emotions that make the story flow seamlessly. I loved all the blog posts along the way as it added a very current touch to the story.
Ailsa is an amazing character. She's been through so much and you can't help but warm to her. I loved watching her learn to actually enjoy life.

Reading and watching my girls playing on their bouncy castle after school. The weather has been gorgeous here. Temps were in the early twenties.
I recently finished & enjoyed this cute, feel good book. It reminded me of one of my favourite romantic comedies Return To Me, with a hint of ‘Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine‘, and a twist of ‘The Fault In Our Stars‘. I especially love that it addressed some pretty significant themes such as, illness, loss, and the importance of organ donation. A topic of conversation that is somewhat taboo, but desperately needs to be discusssed. #bookreview
