This one has been on my TBR list for awhile. Better read it now since summer is coming to an end and this cover gives summer vibes. #33of2024

Although I'm not a fan of the "let's not communicate about how we feel for 200 pages" storyline, this one had a friend group that added a fun dynamic, as well as some complications that were realistic. And I LOVED the ending. Christina Lauren always writes great characters which keeps me reading. ?
A quick, fun read. Not my favorite by this writing duo but there were still parts that made me laugh out loud 😀

#JoysOfJune (book 13)
I enjoyed this one but not my favorite of Christina Lauren's books. I found Millie's excuse for creating a new dating profile under a different name was flimsy. I didn't feel that she and Reid had a huge emotional connection on the app like it was implied, maybe because their conversations were mostly off-page? And honestly Reid was a little bit of a jerk sometimes and I didn't love him as a book boyfriend. But the banter was still fun. Light pick
Just-one-of-the-guys Millie is a criminal justice professor with 4 male besties who also teach at the same college. When the 5 make a plan to use dating websites to find plus ones to the gala, things go sideways.
I liked some things but didn‘t care for the catfishing or that Millie‘s best (only??) friends were 4 guys she inherited from her ex less than 2 years earlier.
Finished 6/13/2022
Yay! I also finished my September #DoubleSpin book while dog sitting. This was cute and a fun read.
Landed on this, needing a lighthearted and easy read tonight.

Enjoyed this one! Having a group of friends like this really would be great. This book was pretty funny and relatable. They make it seem like working at a university is fun, but imho, it's not. ⭐⭐⭐
I love Christina Lauren books, so hopefully this one is as good as all the rest.
I loved this group of friends! Funny and sweet but with an undercurrent of sadness that lends depth an authenticity, I tore through this book. Christina Lauren doesn‘t disappoint, I really hope they revisit this circle of friends, I‘m not ready to say goodbye! #BookspinBingo (reading ahead) @TheAromaofBooks
I really enjoyed this cute, sexy, funny, friends-to-lovers read from Christina Lauren! A sweet Valentine's rendezvous to break up some of the heavier/murdery reads I've mostly been into lately. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was fun and cute with a lot of humor and a bit of steam. I really enjoyed the friend group and how technology was incorporated (i.e. group chats, texts, online dating messages). An easy, breezy romantic comedy to balance out some of my longer reads. (Some spoilery thoughts in the comments!)
I love the humor and sarcasm I find in Christina Lauren's writing. I have laughed in all of her books I have read so far and look forward to the next.
Christina Lauren (bff duo) are quickly becoming a favorite for me for romance novels. I really enjoyed the Unhoneymooners and this was just as fun. Millie (the main character) is infuriating at times, but her male best friends make you want to hang out with your guy friends again.
When I was in grade school, my best friend, Alison Kim, was obsessed with Horses.

I was looking for a quick, fun read and this was both. I like Millie and her posse of male friends. Although I would relate more to Reid, I see why Millie behaves the way she does. And, this book had so many laugh out loud moments. It was both fun and relatable.
Like a twisted, modern version of ‘You‘ve got Mail‘. A cute, super fast, light, fun read.
Friends to lovers romance. Loved the college professor friend group and campus setting. Cute and refreshing. Book 69 4⭐️
3.5-4 stars ⭐️
I don‘t usually read this many light reads, let alone romances, but it‘s been relaxing and self-soothing in this time of pandemic. I love dystopian literature, but I just can‘t right now. I need a little light positivity and fluff with a happy ending. 🤷🏻♀️
More in the comments.
I've had really mixed results with Christina Lauren (bailed on one; gave another 2 stars; gave a third 3 stars); but I'm *that desperate* because Overdrive won't keep my pipeline full. Luckily, this one was pretty good! I'd give it 3.5 stars.
Best friends-with-benefits end up getting matched up on a dating site (because the MC made a profile under a different name—for shame!). What could go wrong?
I wanted to like this more than I did. It‘s not bad, though the dating app stuff makes me feel a million years old. I liked the circle of friends, but the friendship between Millie and Reid never felt right. Best part for me is...going to be under a spoiler tag in the comments. Overall a decent read, and a quick one (read it all today), but nothing outstanding.
Read on my flight Tuesday. I really enjoyed this one! It was fun & sexy with a good cast of characters. I also relate to being one of the guys, so there's that added bonus. The only thing keeping it from being a five-star read for me is just how much Millie withheld from her friends. It seemed a bit over the top to say so little but have these guys all fiercely loyal to you. I'm glad my first Christina Lauren read was a success!
I leave soon on a work trip to Burlingame, CA and I've got some reading for the 11-12 hour round trip plus evenings. Tablet has about 20 books plus a movie & some episodes of Parks & Rec. I haven't been on a flight that long for a while so I'm hoping I can sit still comfortably & have an empty middle seat next me. 🤞
I love everything Christina Lauren writes. It‘s that simple. I always love the characters and storyline.
Another banger from Christina Lauren!♥️🔥🌟
Not my favorite of Christina Lauren‘s but still incredibly sweet and funny. I loved the characters and their banter, but like her (their?) other books, the ending felt a bit rushed. The love story still made me swoon, though, and I devoured the entire book in 2 days. ❤️
Inspired by @monalyisha ☺️
Can‘t think of a better author to read in the tub, to be honest 😉
Funny supporting characters make this rom com about internet dating a winner.
I got one more book in right under the wire. It was not intentional, but this was such an easy read and it is a quiet evening, I just kept going.
Enjoyed this one, you know what you are in for and pretty much know you are guaranteed a happy ending 😁👍
Happy New Year!! 🍾🎉
I was looking for a Christina Lauren book to read and had to choose this one. The main characters are professors at UCSB which was where I went to school. Go Gauchos!
This is between a so-so and a Pick but I always skew towards Pick. Not my favorite of theirs. I mean, it‘s fine. I feel like the characters and friendships could have been a bit more fleshed out and you can‘t overthink the story, but still a fun, quick read.
Fun, but kind of a poor man's Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating.
Also, Reid's anger seemed very out of character; but I did love this group of friends 😊
Current Saturday night party animal situation 😂
Millie is one of the guys but...overall a good story.
My overall response to this one is a big meh. I‘ve enjoyed others by this author combo so that was disappointing. Major drawbacks include an irritating FMC who is the only woman in her super cool dudely bro frat friend group. I don‘t think this story passes the Bechdel test at all. Glad that the FMC discovered that she could—shockingly—have feelings at the end, but didn‘t particularly care. No thanks!
I am on a Christina Lauren kick lately. I can relate to the character Millie in this book, I hate opening up. ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
Whoops. Finished this one a week before #24in48 even began. That‘s one book off the #24in28TBR stack! Worth it though, it kept me company on the drive to this beautiful cliff hike.
The book was an upbeat modern romance. I felt it pandered a little too much to digital trends and would have been better read than listened to (there‘s multiple text and IM conversations). The ending felt underwhelming, but I enjoyed the journey to get there.
