This is my first David Bell book and I am definitely adding his other books to my TBR! This one was such a thrill ride and I loved every page of it.

Prompt: LET IT BE by The Beatles 🎶
Is she really worth helping?
Kept me in suspense, kept my blood pressure up, and had me shaking my head at the stupidity of Joshua.
A tense thriller with a very manipulative, not nice main character.

2.5 stars - I wanted to like this one, I really tried, but in the end I just didn‘t. The plot was unbelievable and the main character‘s actions were even more so. Half way through the book I just wanted it to end and when it did I didn‘t feel any more satisfied. Thanks to GetRedPr #partner and the publisher for gifting me this free copy. Unfortunately this just wasn‘t my cup of tea. Full review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3058155984

I have a dilemma. I'm about 150 pages into this 400 page book, and I am just dreading picking it up. I have been reading it for several weeks now. Normally I could finish a book this size in 2 or 3 days. If it was a library book I'd send it back unfinished. But I bought it. I just HATE spending money on books and then giving up. Ugh. What would YOU do?
A chance romantic encounter with a stanger during a layover at an airport leads, bored with life Joshua, on a wild ride. He's looking for the mysterious woman who captured his interest and may be in danger. Characters were great. Storyline was fun. Kept me turning pages. I expected 🌋 at the end but didnt really get 🌋. But it was kind of refreshing and not as twisted as most of today's thrillers are trying to be. I give it 🧳🧳🧳🧳
Twice now I‘ve picked up this book at Target only to sigh and put it back. I‘m supposed to be on a book buying ban! 😬 I‘ll try the library! #layover #letstravelaugust

This was a suspenseful book and a fun and fast read. The first half was really excellent but the book kind of lagged in the second half. This would be a terrific vacation book.
I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed this thriller, keeps you‘d questioning!

Where'd she go? He wants to find her!
Joshua practically lives in airports because of all the mandatory traveling for work. He hates flying so he pops Valium along with a drink before each flight. In an airport bar at a layover, he meets a woman. She's mysterious, wears a hat and sunglasses covering her face. They hit it off, then she walks away. #netgalley

I decided to sign up for the #24in48Readathon this weekend. I've got lots going on so I likely won't get even half the time done. But that's ok. This is my tentative paperback stack - the middle two are in progress. I also hope to finish the audio I have going on and maybe start another. Are you participating?
Tomorrow, July 18, is the last day to enter the giveaway of LAYOVER by David J Bell.

An airport, a chance meeting, an unforgettable, secretive woman, a woman who is actually missing, tells lies, and doesn‘t care who she involves or hurts.
LAYOVER kept me in suspense, kept my blood pressure up, and had me shaking my head at the stupidity of Joshua. Why go to these lengths and ruin your life? Maybe he didn‘t think he was ruining his life?
Are you intrigued?
I struggle a bit with the rating of this book. Do I rate it based on my opinion or on what I think most people will think of it? Do you see the male protagonist as a hopeless romantic or as a man with strong stalker tendencies? I guess to be an honest reviewer I have to go on my opinion – and I see him as the latter. I can‘t say I really liked either pathetic Joshua or femme fatale Morgan. I know I would not want either as a friend.
One son taking me to dinner tonight for Mother‘s Day and then I get to finish this one later tonight. It‘s really good! ✈️
