I read this book because I really liked the show and wanted to read what inspired it. Even though I realized the show is only very, very vaguely based on the book, I really enjoyed it. It's a fascinating memoir that shows what it can mean to find your way as the Chinese-American son of immigrants. Eddie Huang seems intelligent, funny and a person who loves deeply in his own unique way.
