This book could have been avoided if they just talked to each other and their friends stopped meddling. I only liked the last 40 pages. And only kept reading because the hubby bought me this book. So I made myself interested in if they got back together at the end of the book.

Decided to participate in #15Books15Weeks - I‘ve never heard of it in the previous years but it seems fun. I‘m planning to read a lot of Romance and a lot of mystery and a couple of YA books this summer!

so-soI adore British books, the phrasing and slightly cheeky yet charming characters, and this book is no exception. What I didn't like, and where it stumbled for me, was the narration change mid-chapter. I don't mind the alternating points-of-view, but to randomly change part way through a chapter, was confusing and unnecessary. That being said, I would definitely pick up any of Kelk's other books.
I think I found my new breakroom. 🎉

There's a whole lot of life happening while we read. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing, so I'm hopping aboard @TheReadingMermaid 's #readingrest24 reverse readathon. Basically, I'm taking the weekend to Carpe Diem more than escape into books. What will I be doing instead? Good question ...

pickThis was a sweet story, although at one point I was rooting for the broken up couple to get together with the new potential love interests!! The ending was a bit rushed, which was a shame. I like Kelk‘s fun characters, the best friends are always really well written. I‘ll always read her books but I wonder if I‘m getting too old for chick lit? I find the ‘drama‘ a bit daft. But I still love YA, so maybe not so grown up after all? 😂😂
Is it bad that I chose this book from the library for the title... it reminds me of Friends ‘WE WERE ON A BREAK‘. I can‘t wait to start reading it though as I love a good chick lit. #lindseykelk #wewereonabreak #friends #chicklit
Started on this one yesterday. I have enjoyed Kelk‘s books, but the last one was a bit meh, so I‘m hoping this is better. I felt like I needed an easy read, not that I‘ve been taxing my brain, but sometimes easy is needed!!
Hubby bought me this book for Valentine‘s Day. Not the most fitting book, as I believe it‘s about a couple breaking up.
However, we are both obsessed with Friends (TV show), so it‘s a fitting title. 💕
pickJust finished this and absolutely loved it. I loved the fact that Adam and Liv's relationship came across as modern and real! Plenty of unexpected turns included to keep you on your toes and I especially loved the fact it was written in both main characters point of view instead of just one. Classic Lindsey Kelk!

pickThis was a fun one. It was very relatable and laugh out loud at times. It's a romance novel but not a fluffy, cutsie one. There's real life conflict, misunderstandings, and hilarious situations.

pickVery good. Enjoyed it from start from finish. Characters were well developed. Always enjoy Lindsey Kelk and this is no exception went through a rollercoaster of emotions and highly recommend.
pickI loved this book ❤️it's British chic lit and it was a perfect read while the weather in Southern Ontario is rain. Every. Single. Day. Which in my work means we had indoor recesses all day every day except Wednesday. Brutal.
But the book, which I grabbed because it made me think of Ross and Rachel, is better than Friends, although totally about friends and friendships and love and figuring out what you need and want and it made me laugh so hard.
It's been raining for days and not much of an end in sight but this book has me all distracted and laughing out loud

so-soIt was okay. Not bad. The characters seemed real enough, nothing was exaggerated but it would not be in my top ten list.
panI thought this was going to be a cute rom-com; but it's pretty much 400+ pages of slogging through the misery of a breakup. He's pathetic; and she doesn't come across as very bright. No chemistry btw them, their friends, or their family. No thrill of the chase or grand gesture to win. I cringed where I think I was supposed to laugh. Sorry, but this was about as anti-rom-com as you could get and still stay in the genre:-/

This is laugh out loud funny so far. Normally romantic comedy doesn't actually get me making actual noise laughter but We Were on a Break has it in spades. #fiction #romanticcomedy
