My tag line 😊 My job is quite stressful and today was an especially stressful day, I've kept myself going with the promise of an hours reading later, or the audio book if I'm flagging!
I tend to have a physical book and an audio book on the go. Audio books usually listened to when I can't sleep. I'm listening a Barbara Erskine....also reading one of hers and finding it quite cosy despite the ghostly happenings. I need cosy at the moment, so another Erskine one it needed to be 😊
I‘ve struggled to read these past few weeks. I think getting married in 10 weeks (eek!) has stressed me out. So I bought myself this to help me escape. I love Barbara Erskine, reading her stuff is like putting on a comfy jumper. 😍
I liked the concept of this book, but the characters were frustrating. Especially as the story progressed all the female characters got more and more maddeningly irrational, and all the surrounding characters threw up their hands in this "oh well, what can you do?" kind of way. I did finish the book because the story itself was compelling, I just wish the characters had been more likable.
Historical fiction + a bit of suspense = 👌🏻 Favourite read of 2017 thus far ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is our bed, or bower as I've taken to calling it. I love being surrounded by books even as I sleep.
My November books, so many good ones but I would have to say Sleeper's Castle is my #bestofnovember read.
#photoadaynov16 #day30
I can't tell you how much I loved this book. Barbara is back at her finest and it was totally compelling. I haven't been overly enthusiastic about her last couple of novels but this one is beyond exceptional. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
So close to finishing but had to leave it and come to work! Biggest annoyance ever, the need to earn a living!
It's the 31st here in Brisbane, Australia so...Happy Halloween 👻💀🎃
It's been very hard to find some 'me' time this month. Reading hours have been few and far between with the craziness of work. But I am loving this latest missive from Barbara.
Another @DeweysReadathon is done and dusted. Not a particularly successful one for me coming on the heels of Diner en Blanc Brisbane but I gave it my best shot. Congrats to all the Readathoners who achieved their goals ❤️📕💙📘💚📗
Snack time @DeweysReadathon
Home from Diner em Blanc and straight into Readathon. My start time was 10pm so I'm a little late, but here I go!
5am alarm goes off, "I'll just read for a couple of minutes before I get up."....Suddenly it's an hour later and I am desperately late!
Reading in style! A little 'me' time after a frantic day.
Spent a few hours at the hospital with my 17 year old son today, he has glandular fever and his throat closed up. They got it under control and kept him there for 3 hours on a drip. He dozed off and I managed to read a few pages.
Sunday morning cup of tea and reading in bed = Bliss 📖☕️
Loving this book. It feels more like her older books, I have missed that spine tingly feeling in her more recent books.
TGIF I have hot plans with a comfy chair, chai latte, pj's and this wonderful book tonight 📖📚💕
Trying to fit in some reading 'me' time in a particularly hectic week is proving problematic. 🙁
I have a little collection of 'readers' who sit on my bookshelf and guard my books. Who else collects bookish ornaments?
Sitting at work, feeling blue because I can't read my book. Didn't stop me taking it out and snapping a pic though! 💙📖
Barbara's writing has gone back to her original style. Loving this one 💖
I bought this when it was released but wasn't a fan of her previous 2 books so waited to start it. I am finally in the mood to give it a try and it has already grabbed me.
Deciding on my next read!
I'm loving this book , and so glad I get to see Barbara Erskine on Tuesday for book talk .
Finished the book and it was very good, back to lady of hay now
