I love this series!!
Day 5 of #scarathlon photo challenge - Blood
Today, I‘m sharing this ebook that I‘ve had on my Kindle since 2021 that has the word Blood in it. I want to read it. It sounds interesting.
#HHC
it‘s been said before the first 100 or so pages are good the last 150 pages are fantastic but the pages in the middle. What happened Where was the editor? Too long too descriptive not absorbing enough to hold your attention.shame as love the premise & main protagonists. I see a lot of people give up after the 1st & 2ndI think in the series, not available in the library here at (ce each to buy for a paperback !!! I‘m sorry I‘m not that hardcore
I‘ve put this one off for far too long, mostly because the bad reviews scared me away, but I need to stop listening to reviews because I really enjoyed this! Is it the best story ever written? No, but it was entertaining! The characters are lovable, the banter is funny, the flirting is sexy, the tension- perfect! I was giggling like a schoolgirl. Total Damon Salvatore vibes 😍 This fanart is amazing too and one of my favorite scenes! Loved it 4/5
Spent the weekend glamping in the forest and audiobooked this one! This series was recommended by a friend and although the story is intriguing and I know it‘ll get better this one didn‘t knock my socks off. But I am going to carryon into the next book in the series!
Loved this one, but rest of the series got bit lengthy. If you are ready to dive into a complicated fantasy universe, this one is for you!

Today's pick is From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I loved this book! One scene in particular made this book a five start rating for me 😁 Highly recommend it!

#5 - From Blood & Ash
#doublespin
#10 - Swords of the Seven Sins
I kept coming across this book on tiktok and finally caved in and read it. Holy cow I am glad I did. It wasn't exactly what I expected but the fantasy world grabbed me in quickly and Poppy is such a great heroine. I was happy that the whole book remained in her perspective as I feel like it helps the reader connect more with the character. The only downside to this book is I would say that it was predictable. The “twist“ was quite obvious.
I've seen mixed reviews for this series, lots of people hate it, lots of people love it & lots of people compare it to ACOTAR, which makes *zero* sense. The only comparison that I'll make is this: for me From Blood and Ash is the superior read.
Controversial, I know.
But I said what I said.
Poppy is a firecracker. Hawke is the golden "bad boy" we all hate to love. Their chemistry and friendship is *chef's kiss*.
Also Vampires and Werewolves.
So I realize we're supposed to stay positive, etc. but I also feel like there is no sense in beating around the bush: I totally failed #BFC2021 😂 Mainly because I was really bad at actually setting goals... so maybe I was actually awesome at it, since I accomplished the goals I set?! LOL Anyway, as @wanderinglynn says, it's a new year and new challenge, and I am going to try to be a little more focused this time around!! I've already ⬇
Just finished chapter one— I definitely feel like the struggles and discoveries of ones sexuality is going to be a main focus here. I am expecting steamy moments aplenty with a lot of self reflection. It seems like a sex positive book with an adventurous fantasy setting that is encapsulating the smaller, more personal setting of within our heroine as she goes on the adventures from her mind, to her heart, to her libido, and back again.

1. Yes, especially for fantasy books with unique worlds.
2. Nope, though I have some real maps, from places I‘ve visited.
3. I wish tagged series had a map! At least the edition I have does not.
I‘m not super big on fantasy, but it‘s no surprise Armentrout could win me over. I quite enjoyed this. Glad I got the audio though because it‘s looooong.
I'm SO excited to start this series! It's probably the most highly recommended series I've seen online so far. I am so thankful for my library, the Thomasville Public Library, for working hard to get this book into my hands!
I started this late March but it‘s done for #bookspinbingo
Truly enjoyed this. I liked the world and characters. There‘s fantasy, monsters, magic, royals, and steam 🔥 Poppy is a fun main character. She‘s stabby and I love it! New adult fantasy and Armentrout is planning 6 books she says, so I‘m excited to see where it goes. Book 3 is out soon I believe.
Tried 3 books today before one kept me interested and got 200 pages in!
I‘ve been shit at posting lately, but I got my books all lined up for #bookspin in March! I chose some deep picks off my TBR for this month, so I‘m looking forward to finally getting to them. Currently reading the tagged book and thought I‘d maybe need to substitute another book, but I‘ve been a bit busy so this book will take me into March now.
I am in need of some good fantasy and this has come highly recommended.
Finally got my hands on these 📚😍
Oh my god this book!!! And that ending!! I have to give this book 4 and a 1/2 stars, not 5 stars because it started out pretty slow and didn‘t pick up for me a lot until about half way through. But those last 100+ pages were wow!! I am so glad I gave the second book already. Anyway if you haven‘t read this book yet, go do it!! Lol. #bookrecommandations
I had to see what all the hype was about. I admit it was definitely worth it. It was slow at the beginning, but it picked up. I can‘t wait to get my hands on book two.

1. I love a good enemies to lover
2. It‘s the first of a trilogy
3. It‘s amazing
4. Read it!
I read this in two days, I couldn't put it down.
The writing isn't what I'd expect from a "high fantasy" book but I loved the characters and that last 25% was wild!! ?
I can't wait to start book two!
⭐⭐⭐⭐?
I had a lot of expectations for this novel, but as it usually happens with hyped reads, I wasn't 100% in love. I enjoyed the story, but I found it predictable at times. However, enjoyed it enough that I am looking forward to picking up the next book.
From Blood and Ash is the first book in the ongoing series. It begins with an 18 year old girl who has been chosen by the gods to become the Maiden. Poppy was chosen because of her power which allows her to sense emotions, however very few characters know this. Being the maiden is a great honour to everyone but Poppy. She is forced to endure the solitude of her life and the torture behind closed doors. One night as Poppy and her guard go for a--
Just Wow!! I took a break from another book that was going slow to read this one and it was so good I couldn't put it down!! Reading number 2 now.
I‘m sorry, WHAT was that 🤣 This book was so good. I think I‘m going to wait to read the second one until the third comes out. | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Having a “why didn‘t I read this sooner” moment. I stayed up until 2am last night and am currently 61% done. I have a feeling I‘ll finish tonight... but school is back tomorrow 😩 I think I‘ll need some extra caffeine in the morning.
1. Current reads: 📚 From Blood and Ash 📚 Bud, Not Buddy 📚 Eldest Curses #2 (started a while ago and need to finish!)
2. Last read of 2020 was How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black.
3. Reading goal is 75 books! 2020 was the first time I got past 55 and got to 75, so I‘m going to try again! I‘d love to hit 100, but don‘t want to stress over it 🤪

Finally starting this. Joining in on #SeriesRead2021 - I have so many series, some even completed, that I‘ve either barely started or haven‘t touched at all. This is one that I‘ve had for a while and has been popping up everywhere. Excited to read!
I was completely unprepared for this journey! The only series‘s I can compare it to is ACOTAR in terms of character depth, relationships and romance! I enjoyed every minute of this book!
Oh my gawwwd. Where in the world did this book come from?! It was everything I could ever possibly want a book to be. The world-building was detailed and well-paced, the characters were vivid, the romance was sizzling, the adventure was gripping, the violence was gruesome, the twists and turns toward the end were wild. 600+ absolutely pages flew by. I‘m immediately getting into the next book in the series. 🤓😱😍
"Fear and bravery are often one and the same. It either makes you a warrior or a coward. The only difference is the person it resides inside."
Finished this last night. I enjoy this author and heard amazing things so I went in blind. I was so disappointed for the first half of this book. I almost DNF'd. The last 1/4 or so? So good! This brought me back to the fantasy stories from forever ago. I can't wait to get to the next one! Yes it's predictable but so fun

A friend and I are playing Bookopoly and I landed on Romance. So I decided to go with the GR Choice Award Winner in this category - I want to read those books anyway.
BUT this one just wasn't for me. And I didn't even get to the Romance part. There was just so much information stuffed into the first few pages, that I was totally confused about this world. And when the Romance part started it was such a boring scene, I just went NOPE.
3.5⭐️ Vamprys and Wolven! Despite these familiar monsters and magic system, the story was nice. Although it dragged a bit in the middle, the last few chapters were engrossing and somewhat predictable. Poppy was a fantastic female character. I loved the way she fought and defended herself. I so wish she could hit Hawke once. I found him abusive 😖. The romance was so-so. A female centric story all in all.

@TheAromaofBooks
I am at a loss as to why everyone is raving about this one. Maybe I wasn't in the right headspace. Maybe I wasn't in the demographic... or maybe we read different books entirely. Whatever the case may be, I could not finish this one. This was such a disappointment I might be off of vampire reads for a long while and I am most definitely off of Mrs. Armentrout.
Overall:
DNF 52%... Nuff said
Started reading for #bookspin, #bookspinbingo and my December TBR list. So far so good 😊
@TheAromaofBooks
Ohhhh, that was fun. I stayed up late last night to finish this book. Great world building and characters. Maybe my one complaint was the dialogue could be cheesy at times. But mostly I really liked this book and am very glad I already ordered the next book in the series that should be delivered today for me to start immediately.
I'm halfway through this book. Highly enjoying it. I have my theories and am excited to have time to read today. I took Peri on a walk and need to run to the pharmacy and grocery store, but then I have the rest of the day to read. 😁
I should have gone to sleep awhile ago, but instead I started this long book. I also should have tackled another ARC, but this book appealed to me the most.
