I‘ve binged this trilogy through a lazy Sunday evening and a day of travel and am claiming this as my #booked2022 option. Truthfully these were not great reads, slightly sloppy writing, mad plot on mad plot line but also compelling like eating sour fizzy sweets

It is a good thing I was home alone when I finished this. The most beautiful funeral scene had me sobbing on my couch. My kids would have seen me crying and interrupted the vision in my head.

I am sad that I have to wait for the next book.

Good second installment in the series. The cliffhanger ending assures my continued interest in the lives of Sunshine and Levi and the rest of the characters in Del Sol!

I liked this better than the first book! To be fair, I didn't quite understand the vibe the author was going for in book 1, but I embraced it in this follow up. I legit can't wait for book 3, and I really need to read her other series pronto!

I loved this one! It‘s the second book in the Sunshine Vicram series and is full of mystery, humor, and a super slow burn romance. Next one comes out in December 2022 😩😊

This is a pick because I do love the character and I‘m a huge fan of Darynda Jones.

That being said, there was a lot, almost too much, going on in this book. A couple of story lines were too quickly and neatly tied up. And unfortunately a lot of the mystery was predictable. But even so, I will pre-order the 3d book.

Book 1 for #NovelNovember
Plus I listened to another hour+ of The God of Lost Words and made it to over 33k for #NaNoWriMo 🎉

wanderinglynn @robinb not my favorite Darynda Jones book but I still love Sunshine. Here‘s hoping book 3 is a bit stronger🤞🏻 2y
Andrew65 Well done 👏👏👏 2y
robinb @wanderinglynn I‘ve been a little undecided about this series so far…some parts good, sometimes not so much. I read the first Charley Davidson, and it wasn‘t for me. But I‘m interested enough to keep up with this one. 2y

wanderinglynn @robinb oh, and I loved her Charley Davidson series. But I get that it‘s not for everyone. I think in this book she was trying to get somethings resolved before book 3. I liked it just not as much as book 1. 2y
robinb @wanderinglynn That‘s funny because I liked this one better than the first. 😂😂 2y

Today‘s #Scarathlon photo challenge prompt: Mystery

I don‘t read a lot of mysteries. This was one of my favorites over the summer, book 2 of a series that has an ongoing mystery. Many answers to the mystery in this one. #teamhendrix

Kicking off #20in4 with my long awaited pre-ordered that finally arrived this week.

Also, this first line cracked me up. 😆

JamieArc I‘ve been curious about this book that that first paragraph sold me. Stacked! 3y
wanderinglynn @JamieArc Darynda Jones is an auto-buy author for me. Did you read the first one? (edited) 3y
JamieArc @wanderinglynn No! Good to know! Thanks! 3y
JamieArc @wanderinglynn I was just looking at Litsy reviews for her first book and people either love it or hate it. Curious where I will land, but it looks like a good one to sneak in for one of my last summer reads. 3y
wanderinglynn @JamieArc after reading some of the pans, I can see their points of view. But I still enjoyed it and tend to view her writing style as darkish humor/irreverent. I look forward to seeing what you think. 👍🏻😀 3y

It IS a good day. First my long awaited signed, pre-order finally arrived with my long awaited CAH order. (When our packages go through San Fran, it takes FOREVER (6-8 weeks) vs. 4-14 days through Chicago.)

But the day got even better when I learned that Starbucks Japan is actually getting PSL this year (on 9/1)! 🎉 Huzzah! A fantastic day all around! Now if it were only Friday so I could start on the book . . .

I loved this! It is book two in a series with a quirky cast of characters featuring a small town sheriff and a mystery that happened when she was young. This continues the story so should not be read alone. Much is answered I. This book and it has a very satisfying ending! 5⭐️ #bookspinbingo

Loved it. Read it in a day.
Book two starring Sunshine Vikrim, single mom, sherif of Del Sol, and magnet for bad stuff. When love of her life and bane of her existence, Levi Ravinder, gets hit by a truck while protecting his friend in a bar fight, Sun is floored when it crosses with a missing child case she worked 8 years earlier. Sun also gets some quality time with Levi's uncle and some missing pieces in her own case.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘ve really got to pick these up, I loved her Charlie Davidson series. 3y
K.Wielechowski @Riveted_Reader_Melissa if you like Charlie, you‘ll like Sunshine. There‘s no paranormal stuff in this series but it‘s just as good 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @K.Wielechowski I‘ve heard that, no paranormal, but same great banter & dialogue. 3y

Do you enjoy mysteries with a bit of romance and the perfect humor mixed in? The second book in the Sunshine Vicram series, A Good Day For Chardonnay is the book you‘ve been looking to read!

Congratulations, @daryndajones on the release of your new book #GoodDayForChardonnay!! I busted a gut reading Sunshine‘s newest escapades.

wanderinglynn I can‘t wait until my copy arrives! I love Darynda Jones‘s books! ❤️ 3y
LinesUponAPage 👏 👏 👏 @wanderinglynn. Such good storytelling and the laughter it produces is so good for our souls. This one just continues all the fun that Sunshine has with her fellow cops and her mom's pesky lady friends! 😍 3y

I went into this one a little wary as I had some issues with the prior one. But I‘m glad I gave it a chance as I liked it a lot more. Lots of action, interesting/unusual/multiple storylines, the author‘s trademark snarky humor and some answers to big questions from the first book made for an enjoyable read. My only big annoyance was a 15 yo girl who NEVER listened…go figure! 😂😂🤷🏻‍♀️🙄 🔻

robinb A bit of a resolution cliffhanger, but I‘ll look forward to the next in series. 4/5⭐️ (edited) 3y

5/5 for this one! I love Sunshine Vicram. She is sarcastic and so funny! I cannot wait to read more in this series. I‘m fact I need the next book immediately. This one answered some questions I was excited about. I enjoyed the story. I highly recommend this. Thank you so much to Macmillan audio and Netgalley for this audio arc in exchange change for an honest review!

Um, you can‘t just end a book like that. That‘s not how this works!

Overall I liked it, but there are a lot of storylines and a cliffhanger ending, which I‘m not a big fan of.

Good follow up to the first book in this series. But, something was a bit off in the audiobook. The quick, witty dialogue didn‘t really hold up there. But fans of the series will not be disappointed in the book.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, so when I got an email from NetGalley that this second book was available I snapped it up. I think I liked this one even more. Lots of action that never lets up. Lots of Levi, which I was very excited about. It ended a little abruptly. Not exactly a cliffhanger, but without a full resolution. But it was a fun read, and I look forward to a third book. I certainly hope there will be a third book!

There are some authors I will pre-order anything they write. Darynda Jones is one of those authors.

I loved the first Sunshine book, so I definitely had to have book 2. Now I just have to wait until May. 😫
