For a long time there is only darkness and the sound of distant thunder and the hazy sensation of falling. Beyond that I have no self, no name. No memory. I am aware, dimly, that I used to have these things, but now they are gone and I am nearly nothing.

Bedside read 1.5 … I started the Sojourner Truth speeches book earlier so maybe that one isn‘t a bedside stack read? I don‘t know. What I do know is that it isn‘t a bedtime read, it‘s a have a pencil and tabs handy read.

I am so saddened to have finished this series but what an excellent heart warming end to a truly action packed peculiar story. I absolutely loved this series. These books will definitely remain in my collection. 📚

Decided to finish up the Miss Peregrine's series. I read the 5th book summer of last year so hopefully I remember things, as it's been a minute.
The 6th book of Ransom Riggs' Miss Peregrine's series: The Desolation of Devil's Acre.

Such a bittersweetness finishing this series. It's one of my favorite worlds to visit, and I can't wait to reread it in the future. I'm very critical of how author's wrap up all the loose ends at the end of any novel, but especially a series... This was a beautifully crafted conclusion - Riggs is now a staple in my library.

Bookmail is the best mail💙
I kind of didn‘t realize the last part of Miss Peregrine‘s peculiar children came out a year ago! I‘m looking foward to stepping into the world of the peculiars once more! And you can never go wrong with Murakami.❤️

erzascarletbookgasm What is the Murakami? A notebook? 2y
ju.ca.no @erzascarletbookgasm it translates to „collected t-shirts“. I think it was a magazine column he did a few years back where he would write about his T-shirt collection and the menories connected to the shirts! 2y

The completest in me continued this one to the end, and, though by no means a waste of time, Riggs‘ writing seems to get tired, and the story line unravels predictably with a “Harry Potter Runner-up” feel to the climax and bad guys. All in all, some good scenes but sloppy YAL, as Riggs tries to pack everything in for the final salvo in this series.

I can‘t believe this series is over! The final book was perfection and wrapped everything up nicely. I‘ll miss this world and these characters! Maybe a series reread is in order one day ♥️

Not sure if I‘m mentally or emotionally prepared to start this last book of the series 🥲 I have loved this series from its beginning and am hopeful Riggs will write another unique series 💙

5-12-21: My 47th finished book of 2021! This is the 6th and final book of Miss Peregrine‘s Home for Peculiar Children series. At a little over 500 pages, it‘s chocked full of action. Jacob and his peculiar friends have to save all of peculiardom once again but this time the battle takes every ounce of their powers including some they didn‘t know they had. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 👍🏼📖#️⃣4️⃣7️⃣ #missperegrineshomeforpeculiarchildren #ransomriggs

This is book 6 of the series and a solid addition, though I dare say a bit similar to book 3 in ways. I don‘t think it uses the photos as effectively as the earlier books, but I really enjoyed reading it. It feels like an ending and it‘s a good one, but I‘ve thought the series was ending before and it didn‘t, so who knows!

Ransom Riggs is Live !!🎉🎉

Soubhiville Oh cool! Are the panels going to be available after the fest? I‘m going to have to look into this 😊 3y
Emily92Bibliophile I just looked and some of them aren‘t available anymore and I was hoping to watch them😬I think the ones that are spotlights ( like this one) with one author may not stay on forever- not 100% sure . It sounds like a mix of them will stay on the YouTube channel. There are still some good ones on/ recorded ! @Soubhiville 3y
Emily92Bibliophile This one was REALLY good. Short but neat to hear from Ransom Riggs about the origins of the series @Soubhiville 3y

Relaxing for a few minutes, watching the beginning of Ice Storm 2021. Thought some of you might be interested in this event at my local bookstore. You can get a signed copy of Riggs‘ book or pay a little more for a virtual meeting. Visit josephbeth.com in the events section to find more info.

wildwoodreads Oh fun! I love Ransom Riggs and Leigh Bardugo! 3y
Scochrane26 @megzlynn I‘m sure he will be doing virtual events for other stores but thought people might want to see Leigh Bardugo, too. 3y
