Another birthday outing - going to the LUME - Vincent Van Gogh experience! I‘ve been eagerly anticipating it coming to Melbourne for months and wasn‘t sure if it would happen with various lockdowns preventing it from opening.

Recommend having a cup of tea (or cocktail 😉) at Cafe Terrace 1888 (based on the one VVG painted) - it takes it up another level (sitting on the floor in the main room and watching the show is also good)

I went to the Van Gogh exhibit at the Houston Museum of Fine Art and, of course, came home with a book. This is absolutely on brand for me!

I‘ve not taken the protective cover off and the hotel room is dark so it‘s not the best picture. The book is very pretty. There were others I would have liked to have acquired but I have a budget that I‘m trying to stick with!

Not quite reading related but I thought you guys would appreciate the Atelier des Lumieres Van Gogh immersive exhibition! Animations of his paintings projected all over this old warehouse, i felt like I was inside the starry night. Matt and I have been saying we‘re gonna go stargazing for about four years and I‘m counting this as finally going

No book reading today, but got to visit the Van Gogh exhibit at the Houston Fine Arts Museum.

This volume contains 265 letters that Van Gogh wrote between 1872 and 1890, mainly to his brother Theo. In his letters he writes about money and how he is always in want of more, but mostly the letters focuses on painting techniques and coloring, other painters that he likes and novelists that he reads. This collection of letters is for anyone interested in art.

So I finally go to visit the van Gogh museum! My favourite artist! It was amazing. I enjoyed it sooo much. Things got out of hand at the museum shop!

My cousin lives in Amsterdam and sent me these gorgeous book marks

My next read. This is a collection of 265 of van Gogh's letters. I'm curious to find out what he has to say about literature, art and especially his own paintings.

I've a feeling this is going to be a reading project for the next months.
