Ruined | 
This is literally amazing! I haven‘t read past the first book but I already know that I‘ll love this trilogy. It‘s about a girl and her entire city has been torn apart, her parents are dead, her sister is kidnapped it‘s just amazing! I definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good fantasy trilogy!

so-soA predictable start. The dialogue was witty and fun, & Emelina was an intriguing protagonist, whose actions moved the plot at a good pace. Cas grew on me over time, especially in the second half. The world had a lot of potential for complexity, but somehow remained very straightforward — especially the politics, which was surprising. The romance was a bit forced, I felt, but I didn‘t hate it. We‘ll see how it goes from here! ★★★☆☆.

Starting the audiobook of this tonight. I struggle to pay attention to audiobooks and find myself daydreaming and missing chunks of the story. Hopefully this one can hold my attention. I‘ve heard good things. ⚔️

I still remember that quote from Ruined, I was such a good read! I got Avenged last week and can't wait to read it, although I want to reread Ruined first so I'll remember the details of the first story!

pickOmg yes! This is a fucking revenge story! The romance doesn't come off as lazily done but rather shows a lot of growth, learning and communication/forgiveness. I laughed since the main girl tends to enter a room, count her enemies and think of how and how fast she can kill them which was quite refreshing every once and a while. Really excited to purchase the sequel...and the covers are awesome! PS her sister is going to be interesting to watch

pickIt's my turn to work the weekend again. On the plus side it allows to me to catch up on my reading. Epic Reads posted about Ruined on Facebook the other day. I instantly went online and bought it. VERY ACTION PACKED! I loved every min of it! It's FANTASY, ADVENTURE AND ROMANCE! What more could a girl want? 😀
pickI started this book thinking it was going to be way to much like Snow Like Ashes or Red Queen, with the whole drama of marrying the prince undercover, being part of an almost extinct society, and killing the royalty, but I was pleasantly surprised! It contained just the right amounts of action, romance, and suspense and I demanded the next one. Too bad it isn't out yet! 😫

pickThis book was incredible and deserves way more hype that what it has been getting. If your a fan of Sara J Maas or Susan Dennard's work then you will love this book!
Another item from my book haul! Already halfway and I am a tad underwhelmed considering its praise... But it is certainly not terrible, so I shall continue, and I expect it to improve as the story develops more!
so-soThe story wasn't new and there wasn't much world building. I didn't mind the book but it didn't grip me.
bailedGood action, but there's not a whole lot of characterization or world-building in the first 65 pages. Setting this down, which is such a bummer since I really enjoyed the author's REBOOT series.
bailedUgh 😓 I'm at 42% and I still fail to connect with the book no matter how hard I try. I guess there are some books that does that to you no matter how much you love reading and exploring new worlds within pages. Maybe I'll give it another go someday, just not for now.
pickThis is probably one of the fastest paced fantasy books I've ever read. Amy Tintera jumps right into the action immediately within the first chapter. Perfect quick read or gateway to fantasy! It's great for reluctant readers too!
so-soAn entertaining read if you're looking for a watered-down fantasy novel light on plot but heavy on romance (PG-13 romance: kisses and touching). Heavy on killing (not too graphic), light on profanity. It was predictable and didn't have any major plot twists. I don't think I will be reading book 2
