Read this for #BBRC - A little learning is a dangerous thing
7th graders write an essay to spend a night in the brand new library. They wake up and realize they‘re locked in the next morning and have to solve a bunch of puzzles and play games to make it out of the library.
It was pretty fun. I think the puzzles would have been better to see in print, so I could play along, but still a great read.
The rest of my middle grade reads last month. My favorite was the tagged book. It was so much fun. A book about books with smart, quirky kids. 5 stars for sure
While I can think of several E titles, the only one that comes to mind that I‘ve actually read and enjoyed is the tagged. Love this series.
Thanks for the tag @robinb

“Did Joey Pigza lose control? Was Ella Enchanted” -p125
LOVE that other fictional characters were referenced!!
1. I enjoy both, but I really do love multiple POV when it‘s done well. (Tagged my current read-aloud with my daughter that has multiple POV)
2. No, unfortunately
3. Although I like the idea of lists, I‘m a mood reader all the way.

If you‘re reading this, please consider yourself tagged. 😁
This was a nice change of pace….it‘s a quick and fun read about a wacky scavenger hunt in a library. The intended audience is middle graders and the focus is on having fun and working as a team.

My boys read this together recently and loved it. Now, they're insisting I read it too. I have to admit it's pretty good!
Just found out this has been made into a movie! Has anyone seen it? 🙋🏻♀️

I had to nope out of the first Green Valley Library book after an ableist rant by the heroine - no thank you! So I've pivoted to this one for the Library/Librarian prompt of #booked2021.
A grand middle grade celebration of board games, puzzles, books, and libraries. Can‘t wait to listen to the rest in the series.
Max and I are ready to start the #reversereadathon. He has his stack ready and the randomizer picked Escape from Mr. Lemoncello‘s Library for him to start with. #deweysreadathon
@Bookwormjillk sorry this post is coming so late but this is the first time we have seen the boys in 2 months. Rest written by Jax
Thank you very much addy I have actually been looking for this book. So thank you very much. And also I have also wanted a journal. And I hope you liked your books also
Set in an alternate world where one Mr Lemoncello is Nintendo, Blizzard and Mattel combined. He got his start in a small Ohio town that for the last 12 years has not had a public library. To celebrate the opening he invites 12 year olds of the town to submit essays for a chance to have a lock in sleepover in the library before the rest of the public get a chance. But he has a game in mind that is different to what they are expecting. 3/5 Stars.
This was fun, but to fully appreciate it, think I needed to have been in 4th-6th grade. Which is fine. That‘s the target audience! I enjoy MG novels, but just wished this one had a bit more to it. (Side note: when my husband saw the author‘s last name, he commented that it sounds like the name of a character in a sexual harassment prevention video. 🤣)
5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Short and sweet I finished this book late last night at 11:30 I love books you can read in one afternoon. This is a great children / middle-grade book. There are so many great life lessons

“Reading can take you around the world” or to a magical library like the one in Escape From Mr. Lemoncello‘s Library by Chris Grabenstein. This book is pure fun & entertainment. It reminded me of Pagemasters, Jumanji, the Small World Ride, & Hunger Games all mixed with the most amazingly technologically brilliant surrounding: the new Alexandriaville Public Library. If you have a child or you‘re just young at heart this book is a must read! #JFYA
Bought these 2 books for a grand total of $1.50 while we were at the library for homeschool game time. My son was even interested enough to want to read the escape book. 🏁 score!!!
Chris Grabenstein‘s, Mr. Limoncello‘s Library is a MF book that will take students into a world of science and technology. The characters in the book must use knowledge to escape Mr. Limoncello‘s brand new, hi-tech library. Knowledge is power! #ucflae3414fl19
Amazing. So much fun. Great for reluctant readers. 📚
Mr. Lemoncello gotta giver change at book 4. The new covers are simpler than the original covers.

Yes to all of the above. Public Library's are more then books🥰
Sooooo this book ended up being a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me!?
I almost dnf‘d it at the 1/2 way mark but pushed through till the end. It redeemed itself.
I loved watching the kids fall in love with books and I did enjoy the puzzles and I adored Lemoncellos bookish snark/sass 😂.
(Slow beginning but it does pick up 🤫)
Imma get the next one pretty soon 😬.
This book has a lot of Litsy love and is on sale today for those that are interested 😊

I adored this little book, so fun. This is one I feel that a middle grade student would actually pick for themselves. It's reminiscent of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Wit's End from the Adventures in Odyssey series ☺ The bottom picture is one I took of my small #hometownlibrary. #MiddleGradeMay @megnews @SaturnDoo
I‘m finally reading this cute book! If I were reading the physical book I would be highlighting every book that Mr. Lemoncello casually integrates into his sentences! I listened to the Author at #NatBookFest #NatBookFest2018 he was so entertwining !! And I had such an awesome time at the Festival with @Bookworm83 and we had fun meeting other Littens while we were there!
This was an adorable book and one children's book I'm so happy I read. It was so fun and filled with positive messages about friendship and libraries. This will he a classic.
SO MUCH FUN!!!! Who wouldn't love an adventure game inside a state of the art super fun library??? I loved everything about this game involving 12 twelve year olds having to work together and use the library to solve puzzles! A joy for all ages!!
I had Thinking, Fast and Slow on audio but when I realized it was 20 hours long and I've been reading an awful lot of non fiction, I decided to return it and have some fun while putting my elves together and running errands! What I love most is that the smart kids are the heroes!
What a fun read! An adventure game that takes place in a very cool, soon to be opened, public library. Great for reluctant readers.

I thought this was so much fun. I picked it up because my son is reading it in school. Twelve 12 years old compete in a game to escape from the new library in town. Filled with fun puzzles that the reader can solve along with the characters. Reminded me of the westing game. Great middle grade read. Also give me a book featuring books anytime. #booksaboutbooks #loveyourlibrary
#MusicalNewYear Day 21: Fats wrote about the #MysteriousWays of these middle-grade novels a year ago. For the tagged book, she noted: “A Willy Wonka for bibliophiles! How delightful! The book titles mentioned in the story got me all giddy!” For more titles and her full review, here‘s the link: https://wp.me/pDlzr-j9O
Fast paced, entertaining, and gives young readers a chance to stretch their mental muscles along with the characters. I especially enjoyed how none of the characters were evil for evil‘s sake - they each had their motivation which was well explained in the story.
Knowledge not shared remains unknown.
It was the best book ever I think that it would be tied for 1st with harry potter. Read it now
I really loved this one. It was super fun and magical. It‘s almost like Willy Wonka and Mr Penumbra got together and made a book. There were lots of parts that were funny and suspenseful and it just really was extremely enjoyable. Plus, every bibliophile‘s dream is to be able to sleep over at a library!
These are the plan plus my book club books. #TBRstack #AugustIsATrip #AugustTBR #ReadingResolutions
Apparently there‘s a movie! My cousins kids liked the book when they were younger.

A book for book lovers! I listened to the audiobook with my boys (5 and 7) and they enjoyed it. 7yo: I like that they had teams! 5yo: I don‘t like Charles and Andrew!
Personally I didn‘t like how the kids were “types” like the nerdy brother w the decidedly needy voice. I also wish the accents were voiced better. To me Lemoncello sounded more South Asian than Italian
Starting a new audiobook with the kids. I had also let them listen to a sample of the Mysterious Benedict Society but after a minute or so they declared that they didn‘t like that narrator (and honestly it was a bit hard to hear him). So this one got the thumbs up.
Almost a 🤘🏻🤘🏻. Some of the characters are flat/stock characters and the story gets predictable but I really enjoyed this puzzle-filled tale of a library lock-in turned live-action board game. This is a love-letter to books and reading and being a good player on a team, not just a winner.
I was super happy the smarmy, old-money bro character got his comeuppance, although I was hoping he‘d be the one to get stuck in the book-sorting machine.
Otis thinks this book looks interesting and he‘s not wrong! What a light, fun read for the long weekend.
I haven‘t read this one but it has great reviews on Goodreads and sounds fun-a Willy Wonka library vibe. Has anyone read this one?
