Loved this short story from Alice Hoffman. Lovely store set in a small town with all kinds of love represented and honored. Quick, uplifting read. Available for free from Amazon First Reads. #BookspinBingo
These are lovely short stories. I'm eager to read the third one due out in Feb 2025. ❤️🤓
Book 2 of 2024.
A little schmaltzy but Hoffman manages to thaw me in the back half. A sweet short story about family, books, and showing up when it counts. Very Hallmark-core but tis the season. 😂 📖✨💙🐾
I respect the art of short stories but they always leave me feeling half filled. This one wasn‘t different. I really like it but I wish that it was a full book. Great writing. Likable characters. Wish there was more conflict before the resolution but it‘s a short story.
Short story. Typical Alice Hoffman themes/motifs (sisters, nieces, estrangement, grief). Enjoyable but not really remarkable.
Next Kindle free Amazon read…. Appears to have good reviews
A very sweet, very short story. Free from audible qnd kindle. My first read of this author. She writes beautifully! I will definitely try one of her full novels! Any suggestions where to start?

Sigh! A perfect read, even though a short story. Two sisters separate further and further after their mother and later father dies. Until one day Isabel receives a letter with only the word “help.” I loved this!
Quick read about family, a bookstore and returning home.
When I downloaded this to read, I missed the part where it read "short story". It was a very easy read, filled with redemption, forgiveness and the power of family. It's a free download for Kindle and it certainly did not disappoint
??Happy Reading!??
Finished one book and 3 short stories for #sharreadathon
I really enjoyed the Paris Wife and the short stories were surprisingly good, except Rowell which was just ok.
It was a short story as promised. It was cute and sweet, though nothing memorable.
Getting so much reading done with #JumpStart2023 and #sharreadathon Finished these two short stories this weekend. The Rowell title was just ok but I really enjoyed The Bookstore Sisters.
Isabel left her hometown in Maine to live in NYC. Her sister, Sophie, remained in Maine to run their parent‘s bookstore. Their parents are deceased and the sisters don‘t talk. A cryptic message has Isabel returning home. This is a story of going home and the unexpected healing benefits. Hoffman‘s writing is beautiful and her descriptions of each scene were incredible.

I got to a doctor‘s appt this morning to find that the office told me the wrong time on a confirmation call yesterday, so I was 15 minutes late. They told me I‘d have to wait up to an hour before they could work me into the schedule.🙄 And I hadn‘t brought a book.😫 Hoopla & Libby helped me read today‘s #LittleHouse chapter & my Advent devotional, then I found this in my Kindle app—a recent First Reads pick. Bad news: it was disappointing.⤵️
