I hope everyone can relax today and find some peace. And some reading time. Always

A happy mail day #sundaybuddyread immediately I checked kindle to see if anything was on sale, no 😢 ( a few are free for with audible audiobook trials which I might look into) so now to check the library and an amazing secondhand bookstore by my sister‘s cottage

I have two… my big recliner in my living is my go-to place to curl up with a book and then my second choice, when the weather is nice, is my glider on my deck!

It needs to be a book that I rate 4 or 5 ⭐️ and that some part of it sticks with me!

#sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern
That is a super tough choice but I think I would have to choose romance… it is my go-to and could imagine if I couldn‘t fall into a good smut book!

I teared up during Sunrise on the Reaping but didn‘t fully cry. #sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern
I‘m so glad it‘s a 3-day weekend. Hope everyone gets to rest & read.

I hate when people dog-ear their pages… people, it isn‘t hard to grab a bookmark!!!

#sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern
Yes! It is one of my favorite things to do… I think I have met 20+ authors!!

#sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern
Yes… which is part of the reason I am cautious about lending my books out now!!

I don‘t often find myself in a book slump (knock on wood) but when I do I turn to a comfort genre, usually cozy mystery, that I know will hit for me every time!

I have a harder time sticking to a series in recent years & can take forever in between books. I do enjoy easy series like cozy mysteries or romance. The world-building fantasies though—I have to love the characters if I‘m going to tackle them. Also, I don‘t have to buy multiple books with stand alone.

When the weather is nice, my favorite place to read is on my deck… when the weather is not so nice, it is in my recliner under a blanket in front of my fireplace!

Either a pumpkin spice latte in the morning or hot chocolate at night!!

I have been meaning to read more nonfiction! I think that will be one of my 2025 bookish goals!

I usually read with background noise… unless it is a book that I am having a hard time following, then I need silence!

#sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern
There are lots of books I wish I could read for the first time again but I think the one that stands out the most is Harry Potter!

#sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern
Yes, I set a goal of 100 this year. I‘m ahead a schedule but just a bit!

No, but I often don‘t start a series until it is well-established. I am not one of these who are constantly ingesting new releases. I have a lot of book media and am aware of the trending titles, but I don‘t rush to pick them up. For example, I saw the juggernaut Fourth Wing all over the internet and while I did buy the book and the sequel, I still haven‘t started it. I plan to this summer, but other books‘ voices are louder! 😄

My kindle is on my nightstand so I guess I have a lot of books on it… too many to name!

I discovered Rebecca Yarros and Hannah Grace this year and can‘t wait to read more from them!!

#sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern
I do reread books, especially series that I enjoy like harry potter and twilight!

Princess Dianna… I think it would be fascinating to read about her experiences from her prospective.

Just another Sunday morning cat in tree and dog on table. 🤔
I‘m just going to sit here and read. 😂
Happy Sunday!

Of course I read children's / YA books! And if you are avoiding graphic stories like Things in the Basement or Heartstopper out of some nebulous idea of what being a grown-up should be, you're missing out.

I love middle grade fiction! I find middle grade novels to be so wholesome. I don‘t have to worry about a middle grade novel going too far and I often find them way more creative than adult fiction. I‘ve started leaning away from YA because I get tired of the tropes, but I find YA to have way more diversity than adult fiction. I get a good mix of middle grade and adult fiction with some YA once in a while.

When I was working at B&N, I frequently lied when customers asked me if I read and liked certain books they were thinking of buying. It was usually Colleen Hoover or Sarah J Maas, and it would‘ve been really awkward if I was honest and told them I despise Colleen Hoover and I‘ve tried Sarah J Maas and didn‘t like her. So I would say positive things instead and it made the customer happy with their choice 🤷🏻♀️#SundayFunday @ozma.of.oz

Tall ceilings with floor to ceiling bookshelves and a rolling ladder… a comfortable couch and plenty of cozy blankets!

I always get books from the Library. The only books I buy are from Library book sales.
#sundayfunday @ozma.of.oz

No, not really. Though I tend to read more lately from St. Martin's Press, but that may be because I always get ARC'S from them.
#SundayFunday @ozma.of.oz

I don‘t and I have never really thought about who publishes the books I read… maybe I should!
#sundayfunday @ozma.of.oz

I may be a day late…
I hate when people think it is an invitation to talk when I am reading!!
#sundayfunday @ozma.of.oz

I enjoy listening to memoirs but not fiction books… I enjoy when the author reads the memoir because then it is like I am having a conversation with them!
#sundayfunday @ozma.of.oz

I mostly get them from here but I do have a couple of bookish friends who give me solid reading recommendations too!
