5⭐
This was one smart thriller with a twist or two you won‘t see coming…at least I didn‘t. It's a play on the “Strangers On A Train” trope that is unmatched by any other out there. I highly recommend this mystery suspense thriller to fans of the genre. The narration by Stephanie Cannon was fine but I would‘ve liked multiple narrators for the multiple POVs.

I read a decent portion of this thriller inspired by Highsmith & Hitchcock's Strangers On the Train yesterday but I am finding myself with zero motivation to return to it. I had a few issues with the novel itself, but I think this confirms what I have suspected for awhile. I am tired of American domestic thrillers. My jam now are suspense novels by international authors (Pushkin Vertigo is great resource; Jónasson; Higashino etc).

batsy Oh no, that's unfortunate. I hear you about certain types of thrillers wearing thin. There's one book of his in particular that I have on my list but I'm in no rush to get to it 😆 7d
vivastory @batsy He had been on my radar since I first heard about Thirteen. I didn't care for his character work & the writing itself was clunky in weird places. I know that thrillers are supposed to be popcorn reads, but I found these things distracting lol 7d

A solid “Strangers on a Train” inspired thriller. I was intrigued throughout and there are multiple surprises. Some I figured out, one was a wow moment. Very fun fast paced read. 4⭐️

As most of the thrillers I have read but I continue loving this genre😂it has some unrealistic parts. One event was pretty predictable but that last twist was a surprise to me. I enjoyed this story. A fast pace reading. First time I read a book by this author but I have a couple of books by him but started with this new release🤷🏽‍♀️☺️ 3.8⭐️

This was my first book my Steve Cavanagh and it will not be my last. This is possibly my favorite thriller ever. Hands down in the top ten. It's so good.

Two women meet in a bar. Not the start of a joke either. They actually met in a group therapy session. They have both been through something very traumatic.

This was one of my BOTM choices and I received an ARC vial NetGalley.

I didn‘t realize murder exchange was a trope in thrillers so had this déjà vu thing going as the plot unfolded. I finally went to GR to verify I was reading a newly released book and discovered the inspiration of a 1951 Hitchcock film, Strangers on a Train (it even gets a nod in this book?) I‘ve yet to figure out which remake(s) I experienced causing such vivid déjà vu all the way to the final page!

RaeLovesToRead The Patricia Highsmith book of the same name that the film is based on is EVEN BETTER! 😊😒 1mo

Whew— I absolutely love STRANGERS ON A TRAIN— and remakes of it, my own puppy is named Owen for just that reason!! So I went in with high hopes for this current reimagining… and initially, it felt a little slow, but then: WOW! A genuine twist to this familiar story and while it may leave a few things hanging, I closed this book completely satiated! Give this one some time because by the end, I think you will love it as much as I did!!

After skipping last month‘s, went a little crazy this month‘s BOTM. I‘ve already read A Fate Inked in Blood and Annie Bot (loved both) but picked up three of the others for this month plus some extras. I either owned or wasn‘t interested in any of the BOTY choices, but getting The Winning Game for a friend.

I‘m a big fan of Cavanagh and love his smart intelligent writing. So reliable when you‘re in the mood for a great thriller. I was afraid this would turn into partly a reworking of Strangers on a train (please writers NEVER EVER do that) and partly a rip off of Revenge from Hitchcock presents series. But thankfully he took it to a different place. A highly enjoyable thriller.

2 women meet in therapy for people who have lost loved ones to violence decide they want to take action against their attackers, they come to an agreement to kill the respective men who have,up until now, gotten away with murder.Whilst this book is essentially about vigilantism and satisfying the burning need for revenge,it‘s also a kind of cautionary tale about the dangers of carrying out the revenge scenario and also of trusting people you meet

Alfoster Oh, I love his books and this one looks so good!👍 9mo
