Books from a used book store we like to stop at on vacation. #bookhaul
I loved this book as a kid and it‘s way too long since I read it last. This time, I listened to the audiobook. The ending still gets me!

"You know what the crummiest feeling you can have is? To hate the person you love the best in the world"
I read this 40years ago and loved it. It‘s still a great book, glad I decided to reread it tonight🥰
Genre: Young Adult ficition
Started the book: Wed, Sep 11th
Finished the book: Mon, Sep 16th
Why I wanted to read it: I looked up books related to the outsiders, as I found the outsiders very intreseting, and found this one.
Summary: The book is about two boys who have been closer then brothers ever since Marks parents had killed eachother. They grow together, until one night chchanges both of their lives forever.
“A reputation is one hell of a thing to have; you got to kill yourself to keep it.”~
This quick, somewhat light read is about growing up, how part of growing up involves growing apart and hopefully coming together again stronger. I won't say if this is true or not for our protagonists Mark and Byron, but I will say, yes, people change, and eventually someone get's left behind, but just make sure it's the right person. If that makes sense.
Icing my back and reading. Maxwell decided to come cuddle with me tonight.

I have so many swears for S.E. Hinton right now.

No one does #wilddelinquents better than Hinton. Loved these books growing up. I just wish my copy of The Outsiders survived my adolescence.
I still don‘t forgive Emilio Estevez for fucking up the ending in the movie version😡

Today is the first day of teaching my course Young Adult Literature. To prepare, I re-read That Was Then, This is Now, a book which had a huge impact on me when I first read it over 40 (!!!!) years ago. Interesting to read it again, especially since I recommend it so much to reluctant readers.
Heading out of town for a short trip, and bringing along my latest read!
No parking at my regular morning Starbucks due to a movie shoot so I'm going to settle in at this lovely indie down the street and spend a little time in Oklahoma with the crew.
A lot of similar elements as 'The Outsiders' Ponyboy is one of the smaller characters of the book. It was good. But I felt like I was reading 'The Outsiders' a few years later with drugs.
Love that I had an English teacher 42 years ago that believed young people should read books about young people. #readinschool #photoadaynov16
