It‘s perfect timing for this book, a compilation of the Weetzie Bat books, as I just read Pink Smog in May which is the prequel to these books. Hopefully that will kickstart myself into gear to complete this month‘s pick.

One of the most beautifully written stories I have read and now in my top 3 books. It‘s about the loneliness, and love between two men on the 80‘s in Europe during the aids crisis. It stands tall with Baldwin and is haunting knowing the author‘s life was also cut short. A tragedy for literature.
I liked the premise of this book and loved the ending, but it ended up being a little heavier than I expected. Part of the heaviness was more personal to me, which certainly made it harder, but without fail, as I had that trigger while listening, I saw a beautiful rainbow all the way home.

I got a walking pad for Xmas which is great in the PNW since it's always raining 🌧 I made a playlist specifically for walking. All the songs are upbeat with different BPMs and I try to match my pace to the beat. I've found this is the best way for me to hit my goals and zone out.

This book was just too weird, the characters were really unlikable and I still don't understand what happened 🤷🏼♀️
But I did have fun with the discussions.

Wonderful. The ART! The rendering of nature, the detail in both the borders and background and central figures on each page, the use of colour, the expression on the little turtle faces! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT. And of course, a great message contained within the narrative. So grateful Jan Brett was recommended to me.
Just gorgeous. And the meeting of Mossy and Scoot, so cute! 🥰
